"You contend that management is ultimately responsible for bankruptcy , years later, for approving lifetime free health care to the UAW.. Yet Ford workers received the same UAW benefits, and didn't go bankrupt. So ultimately, there must have been other reasons."
Of course you do realize that Ford was on the threshold of bankruptcy, right? And they put up BIG collateral to secure a dang HUGE loan right before the banks stopped lending, right?
A bit of luck is the only distinction...
Jeye - enough already. Isn't it enough for you out there who whine incessently about wages at the same time that companies are hiring like crazy? You DO remember how bad it was starting in '08, right? Remember the jobless rate? Well, it ain't that any more. You can't expect companies who are hiriing workers like crazy and increasing their payrolls to also, all the sudden out of the goodness of their collective hearts, to also just give every worker a little lower on the pay scale a big 'ole raise do you?
You can't have employment recovery AND rising wages at the same time. Also, you read some very compelling posts yesterday from a member of our Fab 5 regarding WHY upper management gets paid a lot more. You can't rationalize those very good points away. They earn more because of the role they play in their company and for a lot of dang good reasons. Stop being jealous of what others earn because that's all it sounds like.
Sorry - got to be candid...
Imposter (also read "moron clown clones") get reported, and often...
You are a hopeless putz.
"Unfortunately, when GM doubles or triples its profits it's going to answer to the UAW who will claim credit for all of it and demand a strong boost to compensation.
Management will see to it that they get enough to sign the contract and give themselves a hearty chunk for resolving this difficult and sensitive issue.
Do not for one minute think shareholders at GM are going to see the love. This is GM."
Ain't gonna happen...
"Sales of the VOLT were supposed to be hundreds of thousands by now. The Malibu launch was a fiasco. The fullsize truck fizzled due to its ugliness.
And you got 14 THUMBS-DOWN...
"personality ? Were you out protesting last night in NY , Ferguson , Detroit , Cleveland etc. Someone has to defend the rights of M Brown the nice lovely little boy who WAS ( thank God ) a member of the bloods who had earlier grabbed a little five foot tall women in a choke hold robbing her blind. Or might you have been protesting that a 400 lb slob with THIRTEEN FELONY ARRESTS on his record who would not peacefully surrender to police when he was found selling illegal cigarettes on the street and had to be subdued died . 13 felony arrests. The reason he has not been executed or locked up in jail for the rest of his life has to do with bleeding heart liberals like yourself and your elected liberal lawyers. How many felony arrests do you have on your rap sheet or are you also a member of the bloods? Stop the racial b hussein o stoked madness in America. He grew up under rev wright's message of hating America , all whi tes and all j ews. Shame on him"
Huh - why in the heck are you bringing this topic here and suggesting any position on the issue that I might have?
You've got problems dude.
"Oh, and we're getting dividends now moron...
You won't be."
Of course we will and you have ZERO evidence to suggest any change. Heck, I've heard rumors of the dividend going UP.
Have a nice day.
"Well persie aren't you the one to talk posting on the TM board about your nails and high heels and pending operation. You are a sicko. I don't care about clones since both personality_less characters are losers."
Hey bub - I have a MORON clone so pipe down. If you ignore the imposter, you will clearly see that the clown clone imposter posts go away...
Just a few snippets from their press release/article that announced the winner:
"Ultimately, this year, the Colorado was the most impressive to judges – all fulltime editors at Motor Trend – against a rigid set of criteria including: Design Advancement; Engineering Excellence; Efficiency; Safety; Value; and Performance of Intended Use."
"Because some people want a smaller truck. And make no mistake, the Colorado is the best midsize pickup in its class. (It should be because the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma are old.)"
"So congratulations to the Chevrolet Colorado for winning Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year honors for 2015. To the engineers, designers, factory workers and executives who brought new life to a midsize pickup, it’s a well-deserved award for your tireless dedication and work.
Every judge agrees, and that doesn’t happen often."
Imposters get reported you clown clone...
"I believe you use at least what, 20? QQQ, personality_worthless, and god knows how many all caps IDs."
Sorry MORON - I use one and only one ID.
"You're the one who has held this junk all the way down."
LOL!! Yeah - I held it while it went up over 40% in 2012 and also over 40% in 2013. It's a cyclical stock moron...
Oh, and we're getting dividends now moron...
"You're the one who supports a company that murdered dozens of people."
I do indeed support GM, a company that is designing, building and selling GREAT vehicles and also took absolute ownership of past faults that is now the MODEL for how all the other OEMs will operate.
Have a nice day.
You've just confirmed that you're a moron.
Thanks - we kinda knew that but you've helped!
lest the moron basher boneheads have thoughts of getting bold in their bashing...
GM #1 - again. Almost 40K more units than Ford and over 42K units over toyoDUH.
Sales up 6.5% - best November in 7 years.
GM Canada sales up 10%
GM China sales, at 310K units, is up 5%. Sales are up 10% for the year.
It's all good.
P.S. Don't forget about the significant jump in transaction prices for the year either!
"Prices are similar, you might pay a little more for a Toyota, but Toyota has the rock solid reputation of consistently delivering high quality products. "
Of course, this is utter krap...
Also, GM sold WAY more pickups that Ford - by at least 10K units in November. That's 3 months in a row, if I remember, where GM sold more pickups than Ford.
$75 million in revenue - you got a problem? It ain't a lot but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye. Unless you like that sort of thing...
