I know Jack and crew say they're happy with the roll-out but are they really? A much larger Pharma company/s could be circling overhead. Something just sounds fishy to me that Lonnol rolled out Belviq so to speak and now he's retiring. Makes no sense to me, none at all!
Arena GmbH can terminate the Second Amended Agreement early in its entirety or with respect to each country in the non-US territories in North and South America in certain circumstances, including termination in each country if Eisai does not satisfy certain regulatory filing and commercialization diligence requirements in such country.
Since 1992, legislation has protected the public by stipulating that marketing and sale of test kits is illegal and that the results of an HIV test must be given under clinical supervision. The laws are changing after twenty-two years. In a little over four weeks, it will be legal to pop into the supermarket, buy an HIV home testing kit and within 20 minutes of using it at home, get a result. The legislative change has been made by the Department of Health, and supported by the Scottish Government. OraSure Technologies kit, approved by the FDA in the US, has been topic of discussion for use in the UK with its reps presenting their product at health conferences.

I got spooked a little with the Aetna news. I called it right it just bounced back in a hurry. I made a commitment to myself to wait this out until April or May regardless of what happens between now and then. I want to make sure scripts can stay on track and then hopefully a month or so of commercials will be the death blow. I've done well here and am looking to continue to do so in time. Not only that I seen another good opportunity to get on something.
It'll happen when it's least expected. I have a feeling it's coming within the next 3months. Pressure is finally building, just need them scripts to stay on track. A month or so of commercials will have them scurrying like the little rats they are.
Who cares talk to me in 3 months. This is just a little shakeout before the consolidation starts all over again. The recent volume in the past few weeks coupled with the outstanding progress OraSure is making on ALL fronts makes this a no brainer imo.
A small pullback is a given if you call a 2% decline a pullback. With the EU/UK new coming, and the news with Medicare & Medicaid Monday this is a $1B company. No debt, they own everything they have, and $100M in the bank!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Nothing is news? You just missed the news that's all. With the news this is a $1B company. There I said it, and that's what I believe. See you there!
Just a reminder. There is allot of talk about having anyone who accepts help from Medicaid be required to do randomized drug testing. I'm not sure how much of this market OraSure can capture, but that market is untapped as well. This is a BILLION company in the making and probably on someone's radar.
There's nothing for VIVUS to really market is there? I mean Doctors have been prescribing that combo for years. Why would the Doctor make his/her patient pay more then they need be? I know when I go to the Doctor 9 times out of 10 they prescribe the generic form. Arena has 10+ years of exclusivity!
I wish we knew if Aetna was doing a separate study with B+phen. They didn't really say either way. This would even the playing field a little bit and calm my nerves too. Not that Belviq alone isn't showing comparable results to qysima already. We know from a slip of tongue recently that Belviq with phen is blowing away the completion or should I say fat. That's should be what Aetna is doing in my opinion.
CMS has proposed covering HCV screening for the 1945~65 birth cohort as well as those adults considered at high risk. This should benefit HCV point of care diagnostics company OraSure. This will be huge going forward!
I think you're right. Jack and crew have made it clear recently that they don't want to take the fact away that Belviq works as a stand alone. The trials being done are probably so sales reps will have more fire power when pitching it to Doctor's. Eisai can recommend to Doctors go ahead with adding phen if the results are not enough with Belviq alone.
Why wouldn't they be? $100M, no debt, monopoly on a couple products, untapped UK/EU market. The UK/EU are easing restrictions next month to meet the huge need in their countries. OraSure products are in every Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid and other major pharmacies around the Country. OraSure is just scratching the surface, and are in the process of building allot of value for shareholders. Not to mention the real possibility of being acquired by a J&J or P&G type company!
I like Lorcaserin QD. Although it's hasn't been updated to their website. This drug for multiple indications was shown in a graph recently at an investors conference.
