Hunger games numbers as of Monday...
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $170,396,008 53.8%
+ Foreign: $146,600,000 46.2%
= Worldwide: $316,996,008
Opening Weekend: $158,074,286
I'd like to make a point about the Holiday W/E. A lot of people will be looking for something to do on Friday. Additionally, Seeking Alpha indicates a movie goes "in the money" at about twice the budget to make it. Why are the numbers not including foreign sales --- The way I see it Hunger Games is a cash cow with the stock trading at discount.
Shares ~= Domestic Sales of First W/E ~= Catching Fire Production cost
International sales ~= shares.
Is that about a buck a share in earnings made from first W/E alone
My math breaks down on how many week ends in the year and logorithic decay offset by Catness dolls and Catness Holloween costumes.
You do know that the 161M sales did not include foreign sales right?
That's a rather moot point now since the number 161M was USA sales. International sales just crossed 300 million. Seems an international hit. I like the ring of that too.
Catness dolls and I raise you Halloween costumes too!
Catching fire cost completely paid for over the first W/E after release
You can virtually guarantee double the 161M W/E sales over the next month
I figure a minumum of 5x the W/E number on the year as numbers come in from other countries, DVD's...
Catness dolls next. A new generation of little girls running around shooting deer with Bow and Arrows...
It's all good on the investment side.
I do declare WINNER. Recent weakness to be reversed... back to 38 people. Bus is running tomorrow.
Thanks for the pdf.... "the paper"
As I decipher the technology and take a step back... "the paper" at it's heart is a chemical reaction bromine, bromic acid, hydrogen. The paper is conservative from the respect that "simple" shapes for cathodes and other reactant surfaces are mathematically modeled. I would be curous if the cathode were porus such that surface area increased; to know if the powerin/ out could be substantial. Secondly, the technology works with reactants / acids. There are more volatile "mixes"
Here again Graphene may reduce cathode decay as it may prevent larger atoms from penetrating which hydrogen is free to move through it.
Buie bazant braff
I am curious as to how charge is stored. Seems laminar flow allows entropy in th fluid to turn into order in the membrane. Would I be correct then to associate order as a separation of + and - ions? What is your 'take' on the process described as laminar flow battery.
Search charge Bob Presidio $25 million
I don't personally know Bob Presidio.....
Try this to be less specific:
Sodium batteries, sodium sulpher batteries,

The German Federal Association of Electricity and Water (BDEW) reports that the nation's solar photovoltaic (PV) plants produced more than 5.1 TWh in July 2013, a new record for the nation and the world.
This represents a 19% increase over the previous record of 4.3 TWh in June 2013, and a 42% increase from July 2012. It is also nearly double the output of Italy in July 2013, which has the second-largest capacity of installed PV globally.
German beats Italy in percentage of power from PV
As BDEW has not supplied demand figures for July 2013, it is not known what percentage of German demand was met with PV. However, given historical demand figures it is clear that PV output exceeded 10% of demand, likely falling at 12-13% of demand during the month. This puts Germany at an even higher portion of demand met with PV generation than Italy in July 2013.
Wind only produced 1.7 TWh hours during the month, down 41% year-over-year, as fossil fuel generation increased 14%. The nation also exported 70 GWh of electricity during the month.
Certain times in the month featured particularly high solar output. PV plants produced 179-204 GWh each day in the third week of July, which represented from 14.2% to 21.5% of production on a daily basis.
// Definately need to look at the PV Power generation chart. It indicates either Germany have very sunny weather in July, or seriously boosted the number of solar power on the ground, or the solar insolance factor is up in a big way.
A refund of VAT assessed on electricity...
A tax break nonetheless increases profitability of the owner of the solar park driving demand further.
Although I would like to see direct infusion, it does address the excesses in the market. Nuts and Bolts are in place for a recovery of solar. I also seen the article regarding Chinese control of additional build up of solar component manufacturers.
However, Solar server article does imply "components" i.e." wafers, cells, ..... with an effective 8.5% reduction in taxation... here is what I am looking at
China's State Council has ordered a 50% reduction in Value Added Taxes (VAT) for solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturers, to last through the end of 2015.
According to a notice by the nation's Ministry of Finance, the tax reduction began on October 1st, 2013. The nation currently has a VAT of 17% for the sale of goods and services, but a number of other items are excluded from the VAT.
Chinese solar PV manufacturers have suffered from the prolonged industry downturn, and many large PV manufacturers have not reported profits for most or all financial quarters during the last two years.
This move is one of several orders that the State Council has issued recently regarding the nation's PV industry. Earlier in September 2013, the body called for strict control of expansions of manufacturing capacity, as well as setting minimum capacity, efficiency and research and development spending requirements for the industry.
Curious... China finally helps the industry AFTER found guilty of dumping.
Confirmation China has a vested interest in keeping too big to fail companies like LDK running.
This rise virtually killed off many shorts in just days. Sure... they will still cling to their claims, but the solar industry now has the nuts and bolts in place for recovery.
