How about all those able bodied fools on welfare or fake disability that aren't paying their bills? How about all those who are now getting all this 'affordable' health care that we are also paying for. You have screamed at all of us for years with your 'pay for your stuff' nonsense when it is the government you support and the voters you side with that are the majority of those NOT paying for their stuff.
The Democrats started the 'war on poverty' 50 year ago and we now have more living in poverty and off the rest of the working class than anytime in our history.
Yep, the only reason the claim count is down is because so many have quit looking and their benefits have run out. Many of those 'newly' employed under Obama are working part-time or reduced hours and for less pay. Good job rebuilding the economy he had a large hand in ruining.
An even bigger question is how many of those 'newly' signed up have paid? An even better question is why is it being reported that 80+% of those 'newly' enrolled are all receiving subsidies to pay for their new 'affordable' insurance. It is affordable because someone else, the taxpayers are footing the bill.
"qualified, diligent, dignified, a true leader in charge."
He is none of those things. He never has been any of those things and likely will not during his entire lifetime.
The 'stated' primary purpose of this bill was to get all those millions of uninsured, insured. The estimate was in the 30-40M range. So, how many of those 30-40M are still uninsured? How many that previously had coverage and were knocked out by the ACA bill are part of the 6M Obama is bragging about? What about the other 26or so million that aren't talked about by Obama? Are they covered? What about those that had to drop coverage because the new cost was too high? Are they included in any of the administrations statistics? Didn't think so.
This numbers game is almost as clever as the unemployment numbers they publish and then revise.
This was never about health care, because it does nothing for actual health 'care' except make it harder to get. This is about power and money and his 'fundamental' change for America, previously the best country on the planet...until we elected this know nothing numbskull.
No, they are just telling us that they will stop this action. Keep in mind they didn't tell us when they started it before. Why would you believe them now?
I enjoyed the President's comments to selected Hispanic groups complaining that they were not signing up in large enough numbers and were only hurting themselves. It was fun to watch his helper squirm when asked how they knew that Hispanics weren't signing up in big enough volumes because the ACA process was not supposed to tell anyone anything about ethnicity or age when you signed up. That data was supposed to be protected.
He has turned what many Democrats thought was their golden goose into a ugly duckling.
Neither Party has cornered the market on corruption and/or stupidity. Too many elected officials, especially at the national level consider themselves some sort of new royalty that is deserving of something more than the job offers. Because they were able to hoodwink many uneducated voters, they think they are some sort of masterminds that know everything and then simply shoot themselves in the foot, while aiming considerably higher.
Agreed, but unfortunately the 'players' in the game manipulate the markets actions at various times and solid money making companies share hit the skids until the profit taking and short actions are finished for a few weeks.
Perhaps some changes in world events, the market rebounding or sinking farther plus research into specific stocks that I have been watching. Changes in the rules the FED is applying, Congress getting into action or not. No one set rule of thumb.
The stock market by and large any more with all the day traders, shorts, etc. is more like playing poker than it is investing. Business conditions for major corporations and companies making money don't change yet the market takes them down for a week and then they rebound. Profit takers, shorts, etc. all impact the share prices as much if not more than business stability.
I actually went to cash on about 40% of my portfolio last week. The rest are dividend stocks that are still paying. About a week more and we will decide when to get back in.
Ukraine buys almost all its energy (natural gas) from Russia. Revenues from natural gas sales are a primary source of income for Russia.
Because of the recent disagreement between Ukraine and Russia, Russia is raising the price of natural gas it sells to Ukraine.
Ukraine is almost broke and can't afford the increase in the natural gas price because it would be forced into bankruptcy.
Obama (the USA) just announced the United States is giving Ukraine $1 billion to assist in paying for the higher priced natural gas it buys from Russia.
So, the United States is actually giving Russia $1 billion because the money is just passing through Ukraine.
The first question: Has Putin figured out a way to raise the price of his natural gas sales and make the U.S. pay for the increase?
Next question: Was he really in the KGB or was he a commodities trader?
If this analysis is accurate, Putin just got Obama (the USA) to pay him $1 billion by holding a press conference and trucking some troops across town from the Russian Navy base in Ukraine.
Who is the smartest guy in the room now?
There are those that CAN'T help themselves, and we need to do what we can through charities and the government to make sure they can live a safe life. There are many millions more that just won't, that don't want to, that are perfectly happy with a government handout especially when we make it so easy to get. Those we need to begin cutting off and giving them jobs.
There should be nothing wrong with making an able-bodied welfare recipient work for their money. Infrastructure jobs, day care attendants, park rangers, janitorial staff in public buildings, etc. If they are ever found to have been defrauding the system, out the go, never to return.
Our President today was telling immigrants that if they hadn't signed up for the ACA because some members of their families were illegal aliens, don't worry; the ACA folks would not share that information with the immigration folks. He is so worried that this systems failure will cost the Democrats the mid-terms and taint his legacy, he will help folks break the law just to look good.
A bigger picture question might be 'what next'? If Putin is successful in taking over Crimea, then where does he go to spread his influence next? Back to Cuba, South America, Africa? Does he rapidly expand the places he can go without fear? What if the Iranians come to him and ask for a nuke or the material to make their own while they play games with the UN? What if some of the 'wet foot' immigrants from Cuba are found to be Russians?
Who is going to stop him? We sure don't want a shooting war with him and he knows it. The UN can't stop him and if we think putting personal sanctions against their leadership, his comedy of diplomacy will continue.
There is no easy answer, which is why the top guy is supposed to be a smart, brave, leader that is capable of using his considerable influence with other leaders to find and implement peaceful solutions. Problem is that we don't have a leader that even closely resembles that type of person.
With the weak foreign policy positions this President has implemented and his flip-flopping on multiple positions, his hiding the facts of several of his scandals, Putin knows he is in a weak position.
Putin knows that after his 'I can be more flexible' comments and that even his own party is starting to distance themselves from him. He assumes that the next President, especially if it is Biden or a Republican will not stand down as quickly, he is taking advantage of the political weakness he perceives.
Land grabs have taken place throughout history without global actions taken to impede them. Commonly it has been what is going on now, a lot of public hand wringing and political pretension to little or no avail. It won't change. The UN might have had an opportunity at one time. The UN is now so weak and susceptible to large member veto's that it is even weaker and less effective than even Obama.
When you place it in an historical perspective, and considering how important the Crimea is to the Russian military and economy, how is this any different from what the U.S. did in California, Texas, parts of NM and AZ and Hawaii? IT is a different world today to be sure, but the reasons are for self-defense and growth of Russia.
I don't condone what they are doing, but such take over’s are a large part of history of the world and to assume we can change things with the silly actions this President is taking is a joke. They only way we could influence this action in what we would call a positive way, it through military action and that would most certainly be the worst thing to undertake.
We cannot control the world and the actions of what are considered rouge countries let alone those of another world power than has nearly as much political, economic, and power influence in the world as the U.S. Obama's actions are purely political face saving, although he must do it, some of the things he is doing are just plain silly and worthless attempts at looking strong and wise. He is neither and is only proving the point.
We just need an economy that will allow America to grow without as much government control. Congress and the office of the President claim to know and understand what is needed to make the economy grow. There is very little evidence to support this silly claim. Government is one of the largest factors in the economy being as poor as it is today.
I don't buy it. I don't think the #$%$'s are stupid enough to allow this plane to land there and neither are the Afghani's. I hope I am correct, because if this plane in on the ground anywhere on this planet, there are some very serious questions that need to asked of a ton of folks.
