Liberals don't pay attention to things like the 'thumbs down' opinions. They do what they want, when they want and if you don't agree, you're just not a good American.
And whose idea was SS and SSI and food stamps? Anyone recall a Democratic Party idea called the 'Great Society'? How many years in the past 50 have Democrats been in power? Don't ask a Democrat, they don't want to admit to being the Party that has spent most of the money.
We are supposed to pay taxes to support the necessary efforts of the government, not to fund all the things they want to do, regardless of having the money to do what they want.
Then why not use that 'profit' to fund the UE payments? Why do we have to pass another appropriation? Just spend the profit!
By the way the money used to fund these incursions in to profit making in the markets are not 'government' money, those are taxpayers dollars. If they use our money to make a profit, where is the profit sharing?
When was the last time a political 'projection' came to fruition? When was the last time Congress adhered to a budget?
Budgets mean nothing more than a political fight to be used for publicity and campaign points in Congress. Projections of costs for their favorite and often unnecessary and unwanted programs are almost always off the mark by millions, if not billions. The sad truth is that many of these ‘projections’ are made to keep the public outcry and embarrassment of those voting for it to a minimum and are known to be hopelessly off the mark from reality.
When the final truth comes out, if ever, around Benghazi, Hillary is toast. Besides, if the current trends continue I am not sure she would want to inherit the mess Obama will leave behind…who could she blame?
I expect the SOU fiasco to be a lot of 'it was the fault of the previous administration', it was the fault of the weather, so cold and so many storms', and 'we didn't think it would be this hard and it wouldn't have been if the Republicans and Rush would have just stopped picking on us.'
I am not sure it will be worth watching.
"Shrinking unemployment? A Federal budget that is smaller than the one from W's last year in office?
Both lies and tricks with numbers. UE is marginally lower because they simply quit counting so many people. How can you or any Democrat claim budget control or success when for three years we didn't even have one. Harry wouldn't allow it to be voted upon because he knew he would lose. That's how they win...they cheat.
You can fool most of the people all the time, but only if they’re liberals.
How about keeping his promises, other than socialized medicine? How about not lying to the American people knowing full well his words were untrue? How about accepting some accountability for his mistakes and those many mistakes (some called scandals) of his appointee's?
He ran on hope and change. The hope for many is gone; the change is about all that is left in their pay envelope (if they can get one). More people on food stamps/welfare and Medicaid than ever in our history. More people out of work than ever. The economy that is supposed to be getting better is still as stagnant as a farm pond.
There is no leadership, no bipartisanship in the Democratic Party. Their definition of working together is doing what they want. They publicly refuse to negotiate. Harry regularly refuses to bring bills up for votes and yet they have the gall to blame partisanship on Republicans. They do have a big set, that's for sure.
His State of the Union address tomorrow should be a resignation speech instead.
CA has some of the highest percentages of folks on welfare or food stamps in the country. Their unemployment is as high as any place in the country. Their taxes on business and individuals are some of the highest in the land. They are overrun with illegals. More people are moving out than in. Why do you seem to think that CA is the place to be?
Kind of an unfair comparison. We should be looking at the total tons of contribution, not the contribution per person. When you look at the Chinese population and do the math, it gets distorted because of the huge difference in numbers. Again, more liberal tricks with numbers. They are very good at making the numbers reflected the answer they desire.
Yes, they CAN get them, but how many WILL that aren't part of a union or some other special interest group that the Democrats favor?
No one has argued that it was a stunning success, but they haven't called it what it really was either...a failure to lead, a failure to respond accordingly after and the media will forget all about this incident when Billary starts her run to the top. She was the top of this organization, but that will be overlooked in 2016. What a shame.
The letter is simply a symptom of the larger problem and if you don't understand that, I don't know what else to tell you.
The point is that they should not be writing letter to the owners of the public media to influence what they report and what they say. The media wants to talk about GW, they will. If they don't, no representative of the government should be attempting to influence what they report. Is that too hard for you to comprehend?
It is more of the giving up some of our freedom to the government. They do their jobs and allow the media to do theirs, although today’s media seems beholden to the liberal side of government for some unknown reason. There is about as much non-partisanship in the media as there is in Washington.
There is little fair and balanced reporting in the medial today, including Fox News. Theirs is to report the news, not help create it.
The social contract of socialism is very simple. The assumption is that the population is willing to give up portions or our liberty and turn a blind eye to government overreach and corruption in return for security and prosperity.
This works as long as there is security and prosperity, but that is failing today. We have little or no border security and in the name of security, the government tracks us in most all we do and say and attempt to control what is said. We pay enormous amounts of our treasury for security from acts of terror and still have to nearly undress to board an airplane.
We have millions out of work or underemployed and those working are dictated to support those that choose not to work, reducing our own prosperity in the process.
The social contract with socialist thinking does not work, has not worked anywhere else on the planet, but our government continues to force it upon us.
