I am not in NE for a grand slam ... the dividend and eventual out performance. If taken out, I will be happy to take what it gives
Turbo ... look at the outperformance! You and I seem to be the only ppl here on this MB that see NE as the best of the group. PGN, DO, ESV, SDRL sure are not
Turbo, well said. It is crystal clear that NE is outperforming the offshore contingent and yes that sector is still very much hated. NE though is moving up. Speculation, that it is a buyout candidate is not spoken of, but could be moving the stock. Can't substantiate the potential rumor
Hey buddy ... 80 % of my trades/investments make $. Joke if you much, but I take it to the bank every week. NE is looking very nice here!
Most posts are about PGN ... why? The stock price is low, but that does not make it a buy. You can lose just as much money on a low price stock that goes a lot lower. PGN does not go up, unless the deepwater drillers move up. And if they do move up, then maybe PGN is a buy on a relative basis, but not until then
NE will move more than PGN is going to move, at least in the near future. NE is best of the deepwater drillers and will eventually catch fire. I am betting that NE will pay more in the long run than PGN. We shall see
Can't say, because I do not know. Just watching the news flow and stock price. NE just crossed thru the 20dma ... no other offshore guys can say that
If you look at the offshore drillers, all are near their 52 week lows. Not NE. Something is causing NE to perk up, whereas before, it was as bad as the others, if not worse
Volume is extremely high and it is building on its gains. Could be destined for move over $4, which would be very, very bullish. I think business is doing better and the solar could yet make a significant comeback
I see your point, but I have learned to not be so early as what it appears it is with PGN. NE is up 3% today and shareholders got a good dividend coming next week ... now that is much easier to take. There will be plenty of time to load up on PGN
Why follow PGN so closely ... it is clearly going down and is unloved. It is a loser in a bad sector, until proven otherwise. NE looks far more attractive and has the greatest potential to rise, plus it has one of the best fleets, which can garner the best contract rates.
Did you ever hear the phrase, the mkt can be irrational longer than you can remain solvent? Unless you are very slowly and carefully averaging down, you can create a big hole to get out of
Headlines stating the world is awash in oil does not help, but the bottom line is that NE has some great contracts and they are not going away. Just watching now, since I have no intention of riding too many shares down
