I don't get it. He isn't even being added to any committees? What's the point? Plus all his experience seems to be in the medical field? Head scratcher. Crony capitalism? Friend of a board member getting "hooked up"?
Which is why I am so surprised at how ballsy these shorts are. A bid from HP or GE could come at any moment. Now would be the time for them to pounce given DDD's stock price and internal turmoil. But as of now, they still have not started to cover.
We aren't near a bottom yet but it is a good sign at least that the sellers have dried up. No buyers stepping in, though. Still hasn't capitulated, meaning no bottom yet, but it shouldn't be too far off. Just need that huge volume selloff and rebound to confirm it.
I think the narrative that he will respond with is that as the revenues continues to plummet, the cash burn will get higher and higher. And with no way to get revenue to go back up, they will eventually run out.
Wasn't a high enough volume sell off. Didn't rebound at all after hitting the "low". Continues to churn and wants to fall back down to new low.
This should just go ahead and capitulate already. The day it goes down 10% and rebounds back close to even on the day, with huge volume, will be the day the low is in. That day is not today. How low will it go? Impossible to know, but there appears to be a lot of juice left. $7s?
Holding out for every last cent, I suppose. Seems risky at this point, but I guess when you are already up huge, you can take the risk. But they don't appear anywhere close to the point of starting to cover. You would think some would try to get ahead of the pack and start covering, but nah. There is a good chance at some point they will all race for the exits and it could create a big pop. But will that pop be $9.50 to $11.50? $8 to $10? $5 to $8?
I think all the bad news is out and the worst of it is behind us. I think Avi's departure is the start of a recovery for the company. I would think that within the next few weeks to months shorts would consider exiting. I mean they can hold out for another $1, maybe $2, but it seems risky being short right now for a small gain. This company could catch a bid at any moment, and they are more focused on profitability.
I think it could still go down a little, but I think any buys around $10 are a great opportunity going forward. This certainly is starting to feel like a bottom. This last quarter might be the trough of the worst of it earnings wise. There just isn't much left for shorts to gain at this point!
