Down to a nominal amount, I dumped 4000 around 6.80...Thank you NPTN, we had a good run!
My personal guess is institutions absorbed this relentlessly over the last 20 trading day and we will be rangebound for a bit...I may come back to this at better prices and/or near the next earnings release date...in the meantime, on to (possibly) greener pastures -- good luck to all!
Into: DAKT, AAOI, UWTI, BABA, PBR, ABX, NEM
Looking at: SYNA, others...
It is easy to like NPTN at these levels, and my guess is about 50/50 to move higher or lower from here in the short-term. I appreciate your view and believe it has validity.
Has anyone here looked at AAOI or been involved in it. I have and have some experience, in and out successfully so far. I would appreciate others input and think it is interesting enough to suggest you take a close look. Applied Optoelectronics out of Sugar Land, TX...Trying to discern similarities and differences to NPTN's line of work. Again, AAOI. Thanks!
Ade -- I want to ask you a serious question and not meant as an insult or a joke. You have done a lot of prognosticating on this thread over many months, which is fine, it is legal and anyone has a right to their opinion AND common stocks are a fickle and difficult thing to predict and analyze. Also, I have followed the logic and mathematical rationale of most of what you've written here. I may have disagreed materially with some of the inputs that you used as a basis of projection, but I believe that YOU believed much of what you wrote AND you do seem to have a good grasp of market pricing on stocks, market capitalization, and the input of future earnings projections on equity values. HERE IS MY QUESTION: How do you explain the magnitude of the divergence between your EMPHATIC prediction that this would be north of $10 per share right now, based on FDA approval, other positive factors you cited AND the passage of time and yet ETRM is essentially at $1 per share as we speak. It is off by ONE magnitude -- 1/10th of where you said (ensured) it would be.
That is my question, how do you explain that. (Not as an insult, but I think it was inappropriate for you to consistently implore people to plow money into this with your hubris and without any cautionary note of the riskiness involved in a situation like this, but that is just my opinion.)
I'm kicking myself a bit on my impatience...I had waited and watched for SO long that I feared it might "roll-over", which it hasn't due to institutional long term buying, in my opinion. I make a lot of bad timing decisions in retrospect, I guess. I, too, have been watching CRNT...haven't pulled the trigger, a bit concerned about them being Israeli domiciled just cuz it's an unknown (I have made money through luck on OTIV in ISR though) -- I like DAKT and am waiting to buy soon I think...good dialogue here, let's keep it going.
YOU are irrational -- Yeah right, remove the stock price from the equation, lol, that's a great way to invest! Remove the value from your investments...well that is EXACTLY what IS happening indeed with ETRM...
Meant to mention, I began accumulating in July of last year at $3.50-$3.70, got lucky on buying a good chunk on the unusual one day dip on 10/22/14 as low as 2.35...sadly dumped some small bits in the low 3's, much of the rest 4.80 to 5.20 and finally some above 6 and as high as 6.20's.
Hard for me (or anyone) to guess when or where this stabilizes. I started buying on the downtrend (too early in a way) but kept my eye on the ball and feel I got lucky. Eventually building a nearly 50,000 share position, down to 4,000 now...that I'll probably sit with or exit if we flat line and move to greener pastures...Anyone on here have other interesting turnaround stories similar to NPTN? I've been buying these: ABX, NEM, PBR and now looking at SYNA...I think the crew on this board has some insight I'd be interested in GLTA
Still delusional and in complete denial after every "back up the truck" urging has lost anyone foolish enough to listen a bundle of $$ -- please stop, you're embarrassing yourself.
Have to admit I lightened up some in the heat of the run...I may end up regretting but it's part of my discipline.
Would enjoy a continued run but wondering where this takes a breather?
Same rant as 6 months ago. Only difference being that all the things that ADE said were supposed to launch this to $12 per share have come and gone and yet the stock is lower...does that tell you anything?
Same here! Employee stock ownership and improving margins WITH rev growth = strong demand...over 50% of their 100G market...patience will be rewarded...even buyers here will likely do well 3-12 months out, I think we will be in the $7-10 range.
Did you listen to the Conf Call or read the transcript? If you did you would know this is headed even higher than where it is now ($4.05 up 15% today) --- I don't know if you are short or what your motive is, don't really care, but do not get in the way of this thing, will be above $5 soon enough...I'd say by end of March.
Very strong Conference Call so far...expect a buy and upgrade from Alex Henderson from Needham and others...targets likely to be in the range of 7-10, as we trade to mid $4 tomorrow...looking good, plan on higher estimates AND still they will beat...congrats, do not sell...
Agreed...I think we are (finally) see some big positivity and upside (above $5) soon as this ship gets done listing...Option award grants to Emcore newbies and others at $3.50-ish aligns the interests of many employees with those of shareholders and I am confident that we will get above $7 later this year. Hang on longs and be patient to get what we deserve...just my opinion...we'll know more in 90 minutes.
You sure hope so, obviously...the current mantra seems to be "I wish I never bought this #$%$" or "I wish I had sold 7-8 months ago"...back when ETRM was OVER a dollar !!
