I guess there is not much of a need for this BB anymore. They are taking it private.

I took inventory at the Meade display at the local WalMart tonight. 5 scopes in stock. It has been running a dozen to fifteen this summer. They also have a new display with a scope set up and a 3 foot or so cardboard "flying saucer" around the base. It sure makes the display stand out. Very eye catching for kids.

I stopped by a 7-11 in No. Virginia (there aren't any 7-11s in my neck of the woods that I know of)that had a VCom Kiosk. Man are they big! I was expecting something like a small ATM that you see in C-Stores. This thing was massive. Although no one used it while I was there (about 10 minutes) the store had great traffic at 10 p.m. There was always at least one person in line. Continuous customer stream. I guess it is about the only game in town at that hour.

Great to see a 52-week high today. Let's keep climing.

that 12 percent of all groceries in the U.S. are sold by Wal-Mart (that figure might also include Sam's--I'm not sure).

Wow! What a great place to have our products on the shelves.

We bought the Twetty and Taz flavors on the fourth. Today it looked as though they weren't moving all that fast. But I figure that the best advertising is going to be word of mouth. Kid products work differently than dish soap and paper towels. Kids find out what is cool and tell others and they in turn influence the parents to go out and buy, and so on and so on.

In my opinion they taste great and they certainly do "crunch" when you eat them.

By the time the new Looney Toons movie comes out we will already know their success. I suggest that everyone watch the shelves over the next several weeks and do your own inventory count every couple of days. See if they are selling or if they are restocking. If so, you will know if the "kids network" has bought in. Either that or you will know that Stink shops for his chips the same place you do.

as a stock that will likely benefit from the dollar dropping due to 84 percent of sales coming from overseas.

It looked very nice. The thing that worries me are the prices though. You can buy other name or no name storage containers, etc. for a fraction of the price of TUP. I worry in the current economy if people will be willing to buy the more expensive versions?

    Thoughts please.

    Dr. Divorce,

Good points. If they can keep morphing potato chips bags to reflect the character de jour there is no end in sight. The beauty is in being able to piggy back off of the major marketing efforts that are behind children's entertainment. Kids know the latest trends and characters long before they become popular to Mr. and Mrs. Sixpack. Kids respond to marketing-and PB stands to profit on this one.

I went to my local Wal-Mart yesterday and was surprised by the amount of Mead products available on the shelves.

I counted over 30 items on the shelves--mainly telescopes, science kits, and microscopes. All very reasonably priced. Thirty items per store times 1,500 stores equal 45,000 items--just in Wal-Marts alone. Add to that CaptureView and rifle scopes, etc., in other stores and the numbers go up significantly.

Went to the local Sam's today and at the end of an aisle they had big bags on TGIF's Onion Rings. I bought a bag and they are ggggrrreeeaaattt! I think SNAK has a winner here. Also, the last time I was at Sam's they had TGIF snack mix. I did not see any this time. Other than that I saw the big bags and vendo sized chedar and bacon.

If you get a chance to buy a bag of the onion rings I think you will be a very happy snacker.

I find it very hard to believe that the bag only contained 7 chips. I have bought a lot of TGIF Loaded Nacho bags out of hotel vending machines over the last 6 months. If in fact there were only 7 chips in the bag it was not the norm.

The main problem I have with your post is your opinion that the Loaded Nachos have little flavor. You must have either burnt your taste buds out with habenaros or you smoke a carton a day. They are some of the tastiest chips I have ever had in my opinion.

Maybe you should stick to other brands.

enhanced versions of Cap View? I recall someone posting about their warranty card asking which model of Cap View they had.

I think the key to Cap View's success ultimatley is having several versions to appeal to the widest audiance possible.

I expect that we will retest the 52 week highs again before end of quarter reporting. I believe there is still a lot of upside potential for ODP.

In the past few weeks I have noticed Poore Bro products are popping up everywhere.

Of course, the Super WalMarts are carrying TGIFridays. However, I have noticed that they are not getting the best placement. I have seen them placed at the bottom of the shelf across the aisle from the major brands. But they are still there.

The majority of snack vending machines I have seen recently (I do a lot of traveling) have had either Poore Bro, Tato Skins, or TGIF represented.

Also, Hy-Vee supermarkets (Midwest) have started carrying TGIF, as have many independent gas stations. Someone posted earlier that CVS has started carrying them in some of their stores.

I can't help but think that these are positive signs. This stock should be going through the roof right now. I figure with all of these major new accounts, their stated goal of $100 million in sales can't be that far off.

  • play? It's trading at a low P/E, however, it looks like they are guiding downward for the next year. Any constructive thoughts are appreciated.
