On Saturday, Aetna informed California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones that, in addition to not participating in California's health exchange, it planned to pull out of the state altogether with regard to offering individual health plans.
That's just the start, and has always been the plan for federal government-run healthcare - all insurance companies gone. Washington will ultimately be the single payer for all healthcare, and will control the entire economy of healthcare and pharma, your health records, and whether you're worth certain treatments or not.
So how many of you bought the "if you like your doctor, you can keep him/her" pile of horse apples, and voted for the Marxist in Chief?
Get ready to stand in the socially just, equal-mediocrity-for-all line. You'll need to start scheduling doctor's visits and operations a year in advance soon.
Bloomberg reports yesterday that the Obama administration overtly bumped the so-called "social cost of carbon" to $38 a metric ton from $23.80, the figure that the government uses to approximate "losses" from global warming. The government uses the figure in its calculations to weigh "costs" and "benefits" of proposed envirokook regulations.
With the arbitrary 60% increase in the number, government actions with regard to "clean" energy and "green" initiatives will appear more valuable in its cost-benefit analyses. In addition, the figure is used to demonstrate how high the "social costs" are for projects that could generate carbon-based emissions.
Even supporters questioned the way the administration slipped the policy out without first opening it for public comment. The change was buried in an afternoon announcement on May 31 about efficiency standards for microwave ovens.
As long as you vote for these emotion-based, pseudo-intellectual, liberal kook busybodies, you get what you deserve. Like unemployment, terminated pensions, high taxes and a low information public.
Obama continues to successfully separate himself from the reality of his making as some kind of heroic outsider, the innocent bystander, that is comforting us in our outrage by desperately trying to step in to fight the eeeeevillllll Republicans and trying to "fix" the horrible economy, get Americans working again as he pummels America's employers, get to the bottom of the Benghazi slaughter that was caused by his and Clinton's inaction and ensuing coverup, find and punish those IRS employees that broke the law in implementing his destruction of enemies campaign, etc., etc., etc.
This allows him to continue in his glorious non-governance, and to focus on what he does best - campaign. Obama is attending three more fund-raisers today in Massachusetts and Florida. Burning the candle at both ends to ensure the destruction of traditional, mainstream, everyday, Constitutional American conservatism, by any means necessary. And low information voters are lapping it up.
{What worthwhile citizen would want to......}
That's the point. Kooks like these eventually lose all of the worthwhile friends they have. The profanity and darkness begin to manifest because of a deepening need to feel self-importance and worth when they have little. Kind of like many of the millions of Americans who have been out of work for 4 years now. They have been devastated by the intentional Dark ObamAges, and lash out at family and friends as they languish in their own inability to provide.
This poor kook is the one that ends up living in a cabin in the mountains, writing leftist manifestos and sending "presents" to all of the people that messed up their life.
The catcalls of conspiracy theory are starting to fall on deaf American ears. It's no longer far-fetched. It has become evident that all of this - the assault on America's employers, traditions, individual rights, and Constitution - is on purpose, with a specific end game. It is being accomplished because the kooks know that the nice guys fight by trying to uphold principle, ethics, and the rule of law, and only fight back by expressing outrage when these American underpinnings are breached by the brazen leftists. You can't win that way - and the kooks know it all too well.
All of the tactics being used by this leftist regime and the state-fellating leftkooks that put them in power, point to one conclusion: a coup, slowly ratcheting up an edgy push, a gradual encroaching tyranny until the restrictive Constitution finally collapses completely and is replaced. This is followed by a plan for a utopia of equality and abundance, free from violence or strife, managed, of course, by the "smart" people who can now more easily find and squash any dissent by those crazies decrying the new absence of "freedom, liberty, and the rights of the individual".
So, which part of my post was a lie, and which words were the hate words, Frito? You brainless kooks are funny to watch, but it just makes me throw up a little when I think about the fact that you actually may well have grown enough in numbers to elect the third Jimmy Carter in 2016.
Oh, sorry, I forgot... low information voters...
Clarification: "I know - I used to be one of them" should read "I know - I used to be a pseudo-intellectual, know-it-all know-nothing, emotion-based, reality-free, dumb-bass liberal".
Let me know if it still a little vague for you. Happy to help the short bus riders.
{Obama has some unique charisma I don't see...}
Liberalism is lie within itself. It is easy to believe, and quite emotionally exhilarating actually, for people that don't know history, don't know what our founders went through to take America away from England for themselves, don't know about the outrageously wonderful differences between our form of government and the rest of the world, and don't understand why people die trying to get here. I know - I used to be one of them. Then I grew up.
....begins to flow more easily from what used to be the old mainstream media (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, etc) once the administration screwed with them and then basically said kissourass.
I guess they also caught a twinge of the ancient emotion called shame, since they haven't broken even one of the numerous weekly scandals and revelations coming out. Ouch. I guess you can only distract and coast along, reporting on stories that shed a bad light on the kook administration only when they get too big to ignore, for so long.
Nice MediaMatters cut-n-paste.
Apples and oranges, you misinformed, kool-aid addled kook.
Bush's FISA only covered calls to overseas with the specific goal of counterterrorism surveillance. Obama's the new version (which is not just simply a renewal of the earlier act, the story the kooks are trying to proliferate) is covering ALL Verizon calls, made anywhere, for the ENTIRE Verizon customer base. A total abuse of the Patriot Act, and par for the Administration of Lawlessness.
In addition, Bush was fully committed to the war on terror. Obama has rejected the war on terror in favor of "overseas contingency operations" and "workplace violence", and has recently declared the war on terrorism "over".
No, my friend. The Obama FBI sought this broad new FISA order in April for the same reason the IRS has been targeting conservatives, the EPA has been targeting eeeeevilllllll corporations, and the administration is using bogus email accounts to communicate between themselves - DESTROY POLITICAL ENEMIES. Which, by they way, ironically means the destruction of America.
{At least I have altered my votes...}
We used to be able to do that. Most Democrats (except those from the kook fringe coasts) were fairly conservative and had reverence for American foundations, the Constitution and the rule of law.
That has all changed. The Democrat party is now not only the home of, but is ruled by the shameless kook left. Traditional, mainstream, family-oriented, modest, faithful, patriotic, conservative Democrats are extinct, and most Republicans have shifted 40 degrees left of center.
{Typical Right-Winger ... always vote for a Republican whether good or bad ...}
A vote for a Republican with a history of felonies, adultery, theft, DWI's, and arson is still better for America than a vote for a liberal Democrat.
I voted for Bush because he was the only one on the ballot that was even close to being conservative. He eclipsed both the greedy pseudo-envirokook Algore and frenchman John F. Kerry in real world leadership experience, strength, integrity, character, faith, family, and love for country.
True conservatives didn't like Bush's encroachment with the Patriot Act, because we knew that people of character who will use power with integrity aren't always in the White House. And here we are.
I vote to "primary out" RINO's like Bush. I vote for the Republican in the general election, every time, to protect America against the risk of Democrats gaining a majority or influence in anything.
Low information point proven - excellently timed post lardy/fatlady/belcher/etc. You are the poster child of America's profane, godless, self-oriented, dark future.
The sad thing is that the new majority of low information voters don't care. They don't even know anything is going on, nor do they have any curiosity or concern with regard to the meaning or safeguarding of their liberty. The accumulated unethical and illegal activities of this administration, not unlike the accumulation of debt, surpass all other previous administrations combined. Yet their brazenness will ensure that the news-averse, soma-addled masses will only get sanitized snippets, secure in the knowledge that nothing will come of it all.
Sorry I've turned so pessimistic at this point in my life and American history. These low information voters are 50%+ of America now - past the point of no return. Not just a swing one way, and then we move back toward the center. Most Republicans have been moved far left of center - they now simply want to avoid having to talk about the social issues that hold the country together, or allow it to disintegrate into secular progressive oblivion.
Despite the complete incompetence and lack of ethics we are dealing with today, America is just as likely to elect another radical, leftwing, progressive liberal kook in the next election as they are a traditional, mainstream conservative. The fat lady is warming up in the wings.
Why do you even try, peekook?
I usually don't take the time to respond to the kids on the board anymore young lady, but things are kind of slow today.
There is no subtlety needed when expressing plain, dry facts. And your titanically intellectual statement that "Obama is the most lawful President we have ever had", means EXACTLY the same thing as when you come up from the basement to get your grilled government cheese sandwich and Doritos, and tell your mom that "she is the most beautiful woman in the world".
Woodward is a dumb-bass left fringekook like you. But he is an old-school media type. He might have enjoyed going after Nixon while overlooking anyone on the left, but he is still grateful for the protections of our Constitution, and does not like the current darkness infiltrating it and lawlessly destroying it from within.
Well then, young lady, you may want quit blabbing about it and run as far away as you can before Nurse Ratched notices the door's unlocked. Good luck.
The orders come from the top on all issues - everything gets the don's approval, regardless of how much detail he is involved with. But the game is not over.
Just because agency heads, the United States Consigliere, er.. Attorney General, and other high-ranking politically appointed administration officials are criminal deceivers doesn't mean they will go down. They have the protections of civil society to hide behind and to manipulate to meet their needs.
And you have to remember, they are left kooks first, all else (being American, moral, ethical, faithful, legal, etc.) to be forsaken if necessary, without hesitation. No one is going to give up the don - there is no witness protection available anywhere on earth at that level.
Louisiana Democrat State Senator Elbert Guillory on Friday:
"As of this day, I join Frederick Douglass as a Republican. Today the party of disappointment (he means the Democrat party, peekook) has moved away from the majority of Louisiana. They have moved away from traditional values of most Americans. Their support of dependency over self-reliance, of everything but traditional marriage, of abortion on demand, their policies have encouraged the high teen birth rates, high school drop out rates, high incarceration rates and very high unemployment rates. Our self-initiative and self-reliance are sacrificed in exchange for votes for the party of disappointment. The list of disappointments is long - the lies and cover-up at Benghazi, the IRS harassing the tea party and wiretapping and spying on reporters."
A note for you left kooks out there - a little history that your left kook leadership has successfully erased from American History books in public education:
Frederick Douglass escaped from slavery and joined Christian conservatives to become a leader in the abolitionist movement in 19th century America. Oh, abolitionism means "to end" slavery.
