I hear that hanwha q cells korea (a different entity from the nasdaq listed HQCL // Hanwha Holding Co. owns 41% Hanwha Chemical 39% Hanwha S&C 20%) agreed to build a 1.5GW solar generation plant (the largest in the world) in China's Heilongjiang province (next to the russian border, harbin is the capital). Signing ceremony was on the 11th April, yesterday seoul time. The project will total around USD 2Bil. It'll be for the next 5 yrs 300mw each year. Hanwha's affiliates will construct, engineer, operate and maintain the plant. HQCL will also be included by making the panels so i'm guessing this is a positive for HQCL with a pipeline of projects to sell their modules & cell, downstreaming, etc. Nextera project is here for 2016, so it's good that they are keeping busy with their factories at 100% capacity for the next couple of years.
This stock's volume has just dried up...I hate illiquid stocks but i'm a believer in this co. so i'll be sticking with it for the next 2-3yrs, unless it hits my sell target. a good sign when volume dries up is that it may be a bottoming sign. 25634 shares traded today...sigh. they desperately need a fresh head for IR...this guy is seriously doing nothing. No news at all when this is pretty big news.
I'm sure this news will pop up in a week or so.....so hang on long term holders. GL
yes looking good this yr. hopefully they do something about the 94% shareholding and poor IR. they are starting to gain traction - if they get another mega deal from nextera this summer for 2017 that'll be big. they should continue the growth up to 2020. i've cashed out about half of my position during the recent rally, but started to accumulate again after it dropped under 15 bucks. good luck!
whoever sold at market open haha so stupid....thanks for the 10%. 248mw module shipments were not included in this Q. the 248 will roll over to 2016 Q1 for accounting reasons. with the 248mw included, they would have had around 840~ million revenue which would be a miss by a small amount. The important thing for this company is... that it turned to profit for the full year and will be profitable for the near future. in 2016 they will pass trina in modules shipped and their shipments are expected to increase by 33% yoy. you trade a company's future, not present/past in the stock market. long term future looks promising although i don't like the shareholding structure of this co. which causes the low volume.. this is the most promising and stronger of the bunch. if they just had a better IR and more volume...nothing more to ask.
