Easiest way to remove the "topic is deleted" posts is still the "Ignore" button. I think the "Topic deleted" notation is a ploy by PS101.
"This strike still makes no sense to me as there will be no real winners IMO." == This is usually the case in protracted strikes. VZ has pretty much proven that the company won't collapse during the dispute. From this point forward, it's likely a face-saving exercise on both sides.
Apologies for an off-topic question....How do you change a rating once you have clicked on it. This am I rated a post as "Thumbs down" by mistake - is there a way to reverse that? Thanks
I'm not doubting the veracity of your info regarding insider buying but is it current? Insiders, particularly the CEO, went on a buying spree a few months ago but I haven't seen any activity in the recent past. Has insider buying picked up again?
PPS is down because COP has operations in the Canadian tar sands play -where the wildfires are. As for the divy cut, I think a lot of folks saw that as inevitable. I'm not a COP lackey but the management team is doing a yeoman's job conserving cash == cutting capex, layoffs, cutting divy, etc.
"Your point to some degree is valid......" Wow! Civil discourse on a message board?? What's next!!
Sally - I disagree with your position & analysis but it's refreshing to see eloquent messaging on this board. - Thanks
Very true! Rating agencies....and talking heads pile in with recommendations AFTER an equity has made a move. They are more afraid of being wrong than anything else. Plus, their readings of the markets are no better than yours or mine. Two months ago, how many pundits were predicting a rate rise by now?
I agree w/UR logic. Does not make sense -especially since COP's price has surged by a third in a little over a week. Part of COP's price appreciation is the double whammy of continuing short squeezes in COP & oil futures == The supply/demand picture for oil has not changed (for the better, at least-Iran is now DELIVERING oil) so there really are not any market forces driving oil up.
You could be right, on all counts. There has not been the big volume kick you'd expect with that kind of price jump. CC is shutting down their plant in Delaware so maybe supply & demand are coming back into balance. Looks like you & I are the only ones watching the stock!!
Hope you are also right about the Fed.
