OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) on Thursday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $23.5 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had a loss of 73 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 18 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 20 cents per share.
The trucking company posted revenue of $1.14 billion in the period, which matched Street forecasts.
For the year, the company reported net income of $700,000, or 2 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $4.83 billion.
YRC Worldwide Inc. said Thursday that it doubled its operating revenue and eked out a profit for 2015, despite a number of financial obstacles.
The Overland Park-based trucking carrier (Nasdaq: YRCW) reported operating income of $93 million for the year, compared with $45.5 million for 2014. That translated to earnings of $700,000, or 2 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $85.8 million, or $3 a share, the previous year.
