Glu has done nicely since January. And by the end of January 2014 it will have better numbers. By this time next year it will be up another 50% if not doubled. When a bank is paying less then 1% on your money, Glu at 50% is a good return. All my cash is not tied up in Glu or Zynga but I like these companies and see a profitable future just down the road.
On September 16, Zynga was at $3.09. Closed today at $3.67. Z is up 20% in 2 weeks. Why wouldn't some investors take cash off the table. Given the buttheads in DC are shutting down the government, and Z reports on the 14th (in 2 weeks) I think this stock has held up quite well. Zynga will have days up and some down. Just no big swings in either direction. And with King planning an IPO stocks like Zynga, Glu, Take-Two and other will see a lift. But what we are looking at now is Zynga's bottom. The only true direction is up. I sound like a long because I am.
He's right. In fact last year EA, ATVI, Take-Two and others noticed a drop in sales blaming mobile. Game Stop had to retool to stay afloat. And if you think mobile is something, just wait for Google Glass to take off.
Look, INFI creeps up to $21 and then slides down to $17. Then, up to $20/$21 and slides to $17. Every time it drops to $17 I buy. And when it touches $20/$21 I sell. I'm making 25% profit. And INFI does have a cancer drug that goes to trial in 2014. $10???? No, don't think so.
Yeah, hope he'll have better luck than you did arbie.
Ya see arbie went to China Town to buy a "classy" watch from a guy named, Vinnie. He told arbie he had a special watch that turned back time. arbie was so excited spittle and drool escaped his mouth. He ran right home to put it on. Surprisingly, Vinnie told the truth...in a way. Ya see the watch only runs backwards. Oh well, what's $5 large among friends...
I couldn't agree with ya more, Z4. The next couple of months will be magic for Z&G! And right now, the focus is Glu.
Man, talk about "nauseating" and "drooling" post. Odie, have you forgotten to take your meds?
Well, BP, I did say "I could be wrong." But, Glu was the first to focus on mobile. They were the first to make inroads with China. And first with RMG in the UK. Add to this their investment with Bee Cave and Skillz. And, they are getting into publishing which they will take a cut of the profits. And lastly, Glu is now projected to make $700 million.
The best I can do to make a comparison is to liken Glu to a young David Geffen. Geffen understood early rock and roll was the future (Glu with mobile). Geffen got behind concerts, recordings and publishing. Eventually adding movies to the list.
Glu has a single focus and has diversified it on many levels. Zynga is just catching up. Zynga has a cash reserve, but they do not yet have the diversification that Glu has. Glu has successful games but is ready to receive income from other avenues. Z was a drift and Don is bringing it back on course. Currently, Glu has the edge.
Still, both companies will make a profit and should be revisiting the low two's again.
speed, you forgot to include takeovers by Microsoft! Like you have always been, I am long, too. Well, until the end of January. Then I might rethink things.
Z4, I'll be picking up a few shares of Tesla. Last night local news did a little feature on Elon Musk. They highlighted his other interest, space. And they stated many believe Musk is a visionary quite like Steve Jobs. TSLA is today's Apple.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
They did. But, it was in regards to "going forward." What was setup in Europe remains and makes money, though small earnings. And it is believed Zynga will take another look at RMG once they put their house in order. Meanwhile, they do have poker games and are letting established online companies, like FB, use them. So, Zynga has its fingers in RMG and may put their whole hand in down the road.
gonna be a mennil-toss flykune (Yes I am)
...I'm ridin' a small tiny hoss
(His name is MIGHTY LITTLE)
Hey, if odie can quote from Steely Dan, I can quote from the Zap-Man. (Oh yes I can)
hey Deacon Blues (odie) its Dirty Work. so drink your big Black Cow and go see Dr. Wu, cause you're only Reelin' In The Years.
Sorry folks, it's Saturday.
I agree with your positive guidance thinking, BP. But I don't think the estimate will beat. If it pulls even because of the layoffs it will be good for the stock. And I, too, think good news is coming, or positive news. It took Z a number of years to get in this mess. It's gonna take more than 3 months to clean it up. But each quarter will be better than the last.
Oh, boo-hoo. And people who bought on November 12, 2012 for $2.09 are making a solid profit. Someone makes money, someone loses money. That's how it works. The thing is, Z is moving back up. People who bought at $3.94 will see a profit. Let see how things look after the 14th.
Z4, earnings were moved to next week, October 28. There is speculation Zynga will fall a bit below street expectation. And I agree with you. The most import part is the direction of Zynga's future. Zynga has all the necessary parts to be successful.
Checked Zynga's site. sjchee is right. It will be on the 24th. And sjcheetah, no one is lying. No need to make such an accusation. You're better than that.
