Good. Wish you had gotten that 1170 off. Persist, get setup, wait, you'll get em. Would always like to join you. Takes cash only. I am margin.
RAX was a high flyer at one time that probably just disappointed once to often. Not saying its something we should do but when I see something get bludgeoned like it has (so has GLD to some extent) I like to just keep an eye on. Something for next year at best. The boot up is just when you turn the darn thing on and your screens come up. Mine are getting real dicey kinda coming up half a_____s____s at times. Its an easy fix. Might just be contaminated with something. Antivirus to me is mostly useless. About taking years, much like CME I would guess, very hard to get in front of the moves most of the time and can throw a rally at you when you least expect it.
It was very bright of you to say the action looks good. Hard to say on the sell the 3 box. I am perfectly OK holding it but then again a nice pop of sorts might be inviting to take advantage of (me trying to stay more aggressive)? Nothing really on my radar. Really, outside of a cherry picked nice pop to trade or spotting something for a day trade, this year is really over. Picture will get clearer even the last couple days of this year and into next. Haven't looked at it yet but one stock that was hammered this year in the tech area is Rackspace RAX might be worth a look for next year?
Like you said, just from Friday's strength. GLD now making a new low on the day. Its been bad in a bad tape this year my thinking is that next year might be an inflection point although we still could/should/might not, catch that rally. Guys on the floor as a group, last to know the underlying trend. That does not include your Son who does his own homework. By the way, my computer is on its last boot up. After the close today I have to take it in for service. In the meantime it can take me awhile to get the screen to come up. I have a spare that I will use after the close today but it doesn't have my trading software on it so I will be out of commission for tomorrow I think.
Normal business at CME I think EVERY dividend payout prior to it going ex sells down and then rallies. The one that kills me the most was when CME declared that NICE special dividend last year and they immediately got downgraded by Goldmun Sux which really is the most absurd thing I have seen.
Poles your word is good. You don't have to be concerned about if you put up a trade or not. In this case you were preoccupied with it all. Glad that you put up a point chart on it and good job scalping out of it. I am not the one to answer your question about it. For me, being a broker in the penny market back in the 80's was a lifetime ago. Things are different now. Back in my day when I got a job they threw a phone book at me, gave me a script, and said call upon unsuspecting innocent people and have them send you money to put into these things. The printed word doesn't mean anything to me in these things or most things for that matter. All has to be taken with a grain of salt which of course you know too. With CME, the moving average that you show is alot different than what I saw and i just looked at Stockcharts (should use Schwab but didn't). Stockcharts has it at 76.81 and you're at 77.13. I don't see CME getting there at this time. Friday was too strong and CME looks higher. Glad you held your shares. Me, want to buy back what I sold. If the market opens soft on Monday and CME follows, I might be able to get it around 1/2 point lower than where it closed or near the price I sold at. Have a great day. I tried to post before but Yahoo didn't work so again I bet my first post was better than this is. As for stockcharts reading the book, don't hold your breath.
You're right about that BigD. Makes the upcoming cocktail taste that much better. Thanks Poles. For you, how about saying you did that for the principal of the matter. You bought expecting higher prices. Simple isn't it. Not sure what you mean about the 77.13? I don't see that one anywhere.
Excellent. You continue to out do yourself. Originally looking for 900 something and revised to hold for higher prices.
Yes there are good one out there. Can only think that those 2 breakdowns in ICE got a bunch of shares out to feed the thing. Just goes to show you that each stock has its own audience. To defend CME just a bit, (why I am not sure) it is just a little short of ICE this year which is OK. The trick for all of us is to repeat what we did this year, next year and that gets me nervous.
I see that you are human too. I just left around .35 on the table on CME. The only thing I can say is, as long as you are leaving money on the table (not your own) you will never have any problems and in fact its great to leave some for the next guy to have a go at it because if that next guy is wrong and it goes the other way, hey, you can have another chance to do it again. Think of it this way, its no different than selling AAPL at 440 and watching it go to 560 and even with that, I would go in and pay 560 if it looked like a profitable trade. Stay on discipline though
No, don't really know. I kept a couple charts of it from yesterday up on my screen to compare them and what happened was for some reason the chart did change the closing price lower to reflect the dividend but nothing else changed. I don't get why my previous days chart changed because I didn't hit the refresh button so thats real strange to me. I thank you for your thought on me not being an idiot but maybe I will rephrase that, greedyidiot. It effectively gave the "freebie" on the div, was higher by around .40 from yesterday's 79.11 close and I did nothing. On the GLD side, they sure had it doing a dance this morning and got some people out in the pre market in the 116's
Thank the stock powers above that we did make up alot of ground this year. Whether it be selling calls, puts, or trading it, at least we can augment what goes on and add some income to it although that is never guaranteed. One day we will all be out of this thing and the ultimate irony will probably haunt us all in a much higher stock price somewhere in the future. I would sock it in the nose too.
