.. it makes no sense Al will invest the last years of his life stressing out on registration, profits, managing a company etc ... rumours already started that something, part of this story, will still happen and that for sure is about MNKD being acquired by a SNY sub or somebody else, or that technosphere etc etc will be sold etc ... long story short , lots of things yet to come IMHO

Putting all disappointments aside (im also long on MNKD), what would be Al next steps, it seems weird that a man with his age has a dream of building a new conglomerate, blockbuster company. As the great entrepreneur we all know he is, what one may think is next step with MNKD, now that he has got the best partner for launching:

. Commercialize technosphere ? (seems not that much)

. Still has plans to sell the company ?, if yes what would be the value ? Im pretty sure (knowing all these supply alliances agreements that Sanofi as right for first refusal in a possible Co sale), besides Sanofi, who could be interested in acquiring MNKD ?

. Seems not that logical, Alfred gets into other NDAs/developments for technosphere ? lots of cash and headaches involved ?

My guess is Al still plans selling MNKD, but not sure to who or to what business …

    longs pls comment ?

  • Wouldn't it give MNKD much more power and upper hand over all is going on if they announce the basis and who they are partnering with ?

I truly hope so, a buyout would be probably at 18, Al would make another 1 to 2 Bilion and still lots of value for the big pharma to go after.

Otherwise, we watch the dump move again till 5.00 ... Then up on rumours and down on nothing till anything concrete happens !

Good luck to us , longs !

With discussions on Brazil investment grades at stake, a big burden now is over Brazil stocks, mainly VALE and even heavier on PBR, VALE price reaction will be very dependent on 1Q earnings announcements and dividends. I'm a truly believer VALE, along, with SID are undervalued stocks excellent opportunities for value investors 12 months time frame, PBR the same but on this one reaction will probably occur in the beginning of 2015, lots of value to be capture if one has stomach and guts. Target for VALE is 22.00. IMHO

    Brazilan currency

    by jrkkek Jan 4, 2014 1:19 AM

    Jr, my two cents ...

VALE is much more a China play than Brazil, the more the BR currency devalues, the better it is for VALE that has the majority of its income streams tied up to dollar. Thus same to say, BR devalues, VALE costs which are held in BR currency goes down in dollar basis and sales go up, this is the best of the two worlds, ADR when translated to dollar suffer some but in my opinion the overall impact is positive, if China and iron ore prices continue to go up.

VALE at present VALE is extremely under appreciated, I remember I bought at 22 and sold at 30, it is now hovering 14. Anyway, still the question is China and iron ore prices, in BR the issues are Income Tax ,me till some in dispute but the majority of this hanging left behind by a deal with government, currency and some political aspects of Brazil economy. If I'm not mistaken Yahoo has a target of 22, please check that.

If Brazil is downgraded to BBB-, VALE should be much less affected than for instance PBR, nonetheless I would expect still some impact initially and after some time a recovery.

I'm long on VALE, just took a long position recently and see VALE as a good value play opportunity in the middle of this so over appreciated market. Other BR play I also like is SID, wonderful dividends, and with some run to go. Rgs

I'm long and a believer MNKD will announce a partnership some point in time.

Would appreciate some thoughtful comments on why it is taking so long ? And if most of you believe the partnership would come before or after FDA approval ... Also what about the 74 day answer when it would come ? Definitely, going alone would be in my opinion a disaster once it would require lots of money and a very slow ramp up ...
Any bullish comments are welcome .... Best

Just read an article at FORBES about how desperate are insulin companies like Novo and Lilly on the need to develop innovation at the insulin segment, prices are going down and if it continues to commoditize, the ability for developing innovation will be affected. having said that, one can for sure guarantee that all these BP are deeply evaluating potential plays with MNKD, it is a question of time, somebody will take the risk and move forward. jimo, look at forbes: novo-nordisk-and-the-danish-delusion

Afrezza is about changing customers' buying behaviour and by that, we all know that proper positioning, launching and market penetration, mainly against traditional giant BP, will be a herculaneous work and lots and lots of investment will be needed (MNKD cant and should not try doing it alone0... having said that, the sooner MNKD announces a credible partnership, the better it will be for its credibility and pps, and if Al waits till after approval for announcing it, im also afraid the FDA will not take it as serious as doing through a BP it could be. imho

    good luck to we all/longs.

Fighting BPs on injected insulin will be a golias battle, if anyone in this board has the time to calculate the value BPs have at stake on injected insulin, figures will show how difficult it is going to be to fight it. billions and billions of dollars out there at stake and ready to vanish, if a new disruptive technology like afrezza + technosphere succeeds. with all stories and movies etc we know about Tabaco, who you will think will care about stopping people to inject themselves ?

MNKD must be diligent and partner with a BP, one with available cash to make it work ... otherwise ramping up afrezza will be difficult and time consuming. imho, long on mnkd.

Sidney, thanks for the post, as a truly believer the U.S. economy will continue to evolve, mainly now due to the possible auto sufficiency on shale gas, BAC is the closest real action any trader or investor could undertake if a believer on what I said. Thus, kudos for your rationale and estimates. The only caveat here will be this miserable dragging debt celling discussions, this will eventually again erase some percentage of our gains and if we are lucky enough the Fed does not makes it worse, the celling stuff will be a blip this year as it was the previous time it happened, anyway good luck to, we all, BAC longs.

ques, I have followed large banks analysts on their predictions and I would say that, as per my own observations, it is very rare to see these big league guys putting their names behind stocks that would crash or do not perform. At the article I also saw citi has loans with amrn and, if I remember it correctly, around 1 million shares. with all that said, same to say, citi is long on amrn and that is what matters, a big league heavy weight long on amrn.

  • popa1717 by popa1717 Sep 15, 2013 4:32 PM Flag

By Citi on Sept 12, with the news of the appeals court’s reversal of the favorable district court
ruling for Pronova, Citi believes potential for a generic entrant is up to ~1-2 yrs before expected. Notwithstanding citi believes this would have a minimum impact on amrn long-term valuations.
Citi views the FDA Advisory panel on Oct 16th and PDUFA date for a second indication for AMRN’s Vascepa on Dec 20th to be more important events for both the near and long-term value prospects for the stock, viewing the pullback in AMRM shares creating an opportunity entry point ahead of the Oct 16th FDA AdComm panel. Citi expects AMRN and the pending filing to emerge from this meeting without any major impediments and subsequently lift a meaningful overhang on AMRN shares, target 11.00.

Briscoe CFO is leaving on a good note

b, the fact of the matter is, no one, at the age of 55 or 56, who had been in place in this position for a year or two, and after having made a good work on financials and tax matters, leaves the company just because he wanted that. Mr. Briscoe, either ... get in disagreement with WFT CEO, wanted to change something and did not succeed, was requested to do something he did not agree to, or, at the end of the day did not have the empowerment and freedom to implement things he found it right and appropriate doing. Long story short, this is definitely not good for us longs. This miserable ticker is trading side ways since the day analysts said it had a 45 target. CFOs mean a lot for their companies, they bring credibility, stability and values adherence, this is what we have lost and the market, imo, reacted but as it could ....

Personally, im tired and sick of how mismanaged WFT has been, in my humble opinion, WFT CEO should be fired by its board and investors, bring fresh air to us investors who believe WFT has a strong model and future. im still a buy.

pfg, If you allow me, I would add up one, a bit different, caveat in your partnership dilution rationale. The market, also myself, sees it as crucial mnkd gets a robust BP partner. Afrezza is about changing patient's and doc's behavior and for doing that you need lots and lots of money and channel/sales/marketing power; having said that only a BP could get this bump to mnkd. Otherwise, mnkd would trade side ways possibly in this 5 to 8 range. I personally foresee a partner announcement prior to FDA or even prior to NDA as a very strong confidence signal to investors, I BP partnership eg. Pfizer would be a blast for us longs. IMO.

afrezzauer, yesterday at the ms conference mnkd representatives mentioned loud and clear they have been in talks with potential partnership suitors, Al could be somehow stubborn, what a good leaders probably are, and put on hold agreements till after FDA, or after NDA or a more aggressive approach something for now that, from my point of view I would doubt it happens that soon. what is your opinion ?, tks

it sounds very abrupt, not fact and statistically based the BoA analyst downgrade, it would be interesting to check who wrote this, his/her past experiences, articles and previous ratings ?
