I wouldn't consider re-purchase of shares better than a dividend or wisest use of resources.
At least, they're not giving lip service to thier $20mill stock repurchase program. To be exact, CDI repurchased 290,888 shares for $1.7 million during the first quarter 2016 and an aggregate of 461,055 shares for $2.7 million from inception of the program through May 2, 2016.
thanks for the clarification/confirmation. However, what I still don't understand is their intent/goal of achieving with this "synergy". There doesn't seem to be that great of savings or revenue generation from this quasi merger of sorts.
It doesn't help determine if investing in one company would result in the the liability of another's lawsuits, etc....
Which company do you like better and why? Thanks!
For the brave (gambler/trader's) heart, KZ could give them some excitement lately.
Down 13% last week, up 3.58% today! Interesting.
Clarification on Stupid Question. What is the Difference between BHP vs BBL?
The offer price is a joke! However, having said that AND the current management ineptitude, I would run to take it too.
KZ is no longer stagnat. Today (05/06/16), KZ is down a 13.93%!
Why in gods name did KZ go down 13%? If KZ goes down $4, this would be a catastrophe! WHY?!
You may be right about a breakout.
Is this the classic cup with handle pattern? Today's shake out of weak hands building up for a longer term breakout?!
Three reasons why I am still a long time holder:
0 KZ has been relatively stable AND lately, it has a positive upward trend, albeit tiny.
0 KZ debt is not much and KZ is cash positive.
0 KZ is a micro-cap and has shown ability to rocket up with good news.
However, KZ has shown to go and stay low for extended period of time, than go up.
My lack of patience is rearing up lately..
What's not to like?! SALM was a big mover last session, as the company saw its shares rise over 51.2% on the day. The move came on solid volume too with far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. This continues the recent uptrend for the company as the stock is now up 6.0% in the past one-month time frame.
None of the estimates for this stock were revised over the past 30 days. The Zacks Consensus Estimate also remained unchanged over the same time frame. Yesterday’s price action is encouraging though, so make sure to keep a close watch on this firm in the near future.
Blame it on poor executive management leadership.
What have they communicated to make KZ exciting to own? No vision thing.
What prositive earnings execution has management shown in the past years?
What exciting technology have management shown/shared with the investing community?
BTW, who is KZ's CEO and how long has this position been vacant?
Any way to find/determine if SALEM broadcasting is getting more political ad revenue as the presidential election is finally getting tighter?
It was very nice, but, why the special? I did not read anything on this special ....and it's not like GSK revenue has been rated superior, especially of late.
Agreed, very nice! However, does anyone know why we got an extra dividend? I did not read anything the reason behind the "extra bonus".
"My hope is that since the stock did hit $16ish in 2012...."
That $16ish valuation meterics must be thrown out the window. The prior valuation was based upon an entirely industry.
'If so, this is a great time to buy CDI.'
If so, wouldn't have been better time to buy Oil ETFs? I did, but, never enough on the winners. Still got a outside chance to buy more, as I believe for 2016 oil supply continues to mount.
Still ever the optimist, eh? Care to share, how much stock buyback occurred since their announcement?
Did they even show their "SOUND CAPITAL ALLOCATION" ability when CDI showed a 71% correction from their 52 week high? No? Incredulous!
I bought CDI percisely for their past steadfast dividend payments. Would have bought more CDI shares when it corrected under $5. However, CDI went on a buying spree, instead.
The CEO isn't shaking jackSh!T. The only reason CDI goes up is because the oil patch and economy improves----NOT because of management. Although, that won't stop them from spinning their BS and fishing for their annual bonuses in front of the BOD and stockholders!
Who woulda thunk.... The BOD was authorized to buy, but, never did! Even at record low share price or over 71% correction within past 52weeks.
I would've bought, but, didn't becuz CDI decided to stop paying dividends, which made me lose confidence in management's ability.
