Lower entry point for ONVO. So one can buy same amount of shares at a lower overall cost. Or buy time-and-a-half (approx) number of shares for greater gains (assuming both companies increase in value on an equal basis).
Botton line: My calculus tells me that this move, at this particular time, is the right move to make. This is NOT a long-term strategy by any means. Both companies have loads of promise. As such, I'll move between to two (and have stakes in both companies, as well) as I see fit.
I bought a little earlier this morning before I dug deeper into ONVO's financials. Now I may add to my initial position due to this statement from the 6/30 quarterly report issued in August:
"We believe our cash and cash equivalents on hand as of June 30, 2013, together with amounts to be received from our collaborative research agreements, should be sufficient to fund our ongoing operations as currently planned for at least the next 12 months. Through June 30, 2013, we have financed our operations primarily through the sale of convertible notes, the private placement of equity securities, and through revenue derived from grants or collaborative research agreements. Moreover, subsequent to June 30, 2013, we raised net proceeds of approximately $43.3 million through the sale of 10,350,000 shares of our common stock in a public offering."
Looks good for the next 12 months at least. No dilution antipicated.
I remember that show now that you mention it. GG is in its infancy. And who knows how many other applications LCoS and derivative technologies will be spawned. HIMX is in a great spot. And Google knows it.
As investors, we may be looking at a huge win in a couple years.
Seems that goog CC yesterday (which is good for HIMX), option action today, and earnings in a couple weeks are the perfect trifecta indeed.
It's amazing that many Americans don't realize this fact. Shows how poorly our schools are when it comes to educating our students in geography -- and history, for that matter.
Makes sense. I worked (retired now) as a university administrator all my professional career, so I don't know how the behind-the-scenes world works at major companies other than snippets I get when talking with my brother (Philips executive), and we never got into that area.
True. The key things you mentioned maybe account partially account for this pre-open uptick. Interesting comment about investor relations sort of laying the groundwork for acceptable questions.
Yeah. Me too. But last time I looked this morning, HIMX was trading at 10.62. So hopefully a sustained uptrend is developing.
Well, pix was it. No one asked a question about GG. Might have something to do with the slide this week... and near term too? Hope not.
