That is a big move ($51.63-$59.30) in a few short weeks. I thought COH would wet the bed, and KORS would sell off in sympathy; and was wrong. FOSL was the most telling report though as it was extremely bullish on KORS business in Europe and North America.

    KORS STORE

Obviously, the selection at the retail outlets (Macy's, Nordstrom's ...etc...) are not as robust as the Michael Kors stores. At the retail outlets, the Michael Kors selection sits amongst Marc Jacobs, Coach, Kate Spade and others, and the sales people are not as knowledgeable about the products. At the Michael Kors stores, you will find the latest and greatest products from Michael Kors, and there are helpful sales people (who serve champagne) who can guide you to the products that meet your needs. The shopping experience is much different, and I prefer shopping at Michael Kors stores.

Simply, you pay more for better and more recent products at the MIchael Kors stores. You pay less for essentially "hand me downs" at Nordsrom's, Lord & Taylor, Macy's...etc...

Europe has been a liability for many of the conglomerates like IBM and GE. However, it has been a big asset for firms like FOSL and KORS. I expect this to continue. Japan, Europe, North America will provide huge sales for KORS.

The professional institutions who bought at $61 are holding for long term and will make big money on KORS. They do not view the stock day to day; more like quarter to quarter... I am well under control with my optimism. In fact, my views are conservative to what management will release in the coming months, and years...

My wife knows many women who work as aestheticians, and they are really excited about the new Michael Kors beauty line. The cosmetics launch is a collaboration with Estee Lauder, and will be well received. One question I need answered at the conference call later this month is, "what does this launch add to the top and bottom line?" Of course, management will not answer this directly. But, they may say that they are excited about its potential. As of now, we have not heard much from management about this launch.

June 2014 that is something to focus on. I do not care where KORS has been, only where it is going. Remember, Earnings PER SHARE! KORS will earn $2 in 2013 and $3 in 2014(at least). Yes, if KORS had only 100 million shares it would be earning $4 and $6! But, we must deal in reality. KORS earning $3 in 2014 and growing at 50% (at least) KORS will be trading well over par. A two-bagger from here. I can wait...

Well, for the next year you could put your money in NFLX or TSLA and do pretty well. KORS will reward. I am not worried.

I think most traders have a five second chart. KORS has done pretty well since the IPO, and is just getting rolling....

It is not a question of "if" but "when" and now we know. May 29 KORS will beat and raise. I say they raise fiscal 2014 to $2.60 or more...

  • qofaslave69 by qofaslave69 May 8, 2013 4:14 PM Flag

in two weeks of trading that is a pretty solid move. Some people are really impatient and expect KORS to go up every day the stock market is up, and you must expect some profit taking with all the darn day traders in this market.

KORS will eventually be rewarded for earnings. I know they will beta and raise this quarter. The analysts expect $2.44 for 2014. KORS will raise that to $2.60 at least...

The date is consistent with the information from IR who said KORS will report in "late May."

  • The next question comes from John Kernan from Cowen and Company.

John D. Kernan - Cowen and Company, LLC, Research Division
I just wanted to -- the European revenue acceleration, is there a brand or a price point that's really driving that? And then can you remind us what inning we're in, in terms of the adoption of Michael Kors watches in Europe? I think it's a little bit less -- fewer than it is here in the U.S.

Kosta N. Kartsotis - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Yes, as far as the -- we're seeing strong growth in several of our brands in Europe. So I think the portfolio is very effective. We even see -- we're seeing some brands that are very strong in France, for example, and not necessarily in U.K. and vice versa with different brands. So the portfolio really works. We're able to, depending on what's going on in those specific markets, we're able to put product in there that results in a strong increase. And our entire organization is set up. So whatever is selling in that country, our planners are putting more of that product in that pipeline and it goes to the locations quickly. So it's a pure sell-through situation. Whatever is selling in the market, we expand it quickly and we're flowing product pretty efficiently to it. I think we're getting better and better at that. As far as what inning KORS is in, in Europe, I think we're in the bottom of the first and there's 2 outs and Mickey Mantle's at that. I mean, it is -- it looks like it's going to be, as we said in the earlier -- it is -- it looks like KORS is going to continue to grow outside the United States very strongly.

I do not play with options. But, I guess this is bullish...

KORS --data from the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX) shows a 50-day call/put volume ratio of 3.58 for Michael Kors Holdings Ltd, indicating calls bought to open have more than tripled puts during the past 10 weeks. This ratio ranks higher than 98% of similar annual readings, conveying traders have picked up calls over puts at a faster clip just 2% of the time over the last 12 months.

Rich, You know more about KORS than Wells Fargo, Motley Fool, and Cowen combined. Stick with what you already know, and let the others catch on. Consider yourself way early to the party, and don't drink too much before the hot chicks start showing up...

Even a monkey can connect the dots here.... Have you ever seen the movie Colors? The two police officers chatting and the young one (Sean Penn) talking about running down the hill to get the bull, and the wise veteran (Robert DuVall) says we will walk down there and get them all. Mutual funds will be walking in on KORS in the coming months...
