The Digital download is available now. It will be interesting to see how Disney reports the combination sales of the various release media. The digital download is 19.99 with very low physical costs. How much profit does Disney make on the virtual version. All this comes in the 2nd quarter of 2014. (Jan, Feb, Mar). Bottom line expectations may be underestimated by the analysts. Frozen could very well be the biggest and fastest since the Lion King. March 15 is the Japan theater release and should break previous box office records there. Good consolidation of share price at 80.00. We will know better by March 15th. Next stop 90.
It makes no difference that anyone would buy more at 45 than 90. It is a matter of actual dollar amount invested. You can purchase stock for as low as 4.95 per transaction so it just isn't necessary to split the stock. One thousand dollars in is one thousand dollars and the stock moving up does so at the same percentage. Just buy and hold and you will do just fine as it heads to 100.
If Disney closes here the next resting point is over 80.00.
Might be on its way to 80+ as investors keep buying and shorts are trying in vain to cover.
Buyers are stepping up to the plate
Picture the shares of Disney picking up momentum like a snow ball going down hill. There is just no stopping it and it's all based on solid bottom line profits.
Iger expects "Frozen" to be the highest grossing animated film in both countries.
Dis traded as high as 74.66 right around 6pm. If there are any upgrades after the analysts chew on the numbers the stock will hit a new high.
It's going to take more than three days even at today's volume. Watch the pre-market trading to see if there is a mad scramble to cover. AND if you see a few upgrades over the next day or two we could see a new high.I listened to the conference call and all the analysts had positive questions answered. My guess is new target prices could range from 79.00 to 95.00 over the next year. Some of this will be based on anticipation of Star Wars and the first 2 BILLION box office for Disney. The bottom line profits and he huge cash flow and cash position is in my opinion fantastic. The street wants to see real profits and Disney has them and growth.
China is first and then Japan on March 15. Expect Frozen to play well in China with a 40 to 50 million take. Japan could do 100 million total when it is all said and done.
The soundtrack to Disney's "Frozen" returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 93,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 26. Cumulative sales for "Frozen" now rise to 770,000.
Disney will really beat in studio entertainment by a huge number. Thor and Frozen exceeded expectations by a long shot. Disney interactive should also show some better than expected numbers. Parks and Resorts will be up single digits. Profits will come in very strong. Forward guidance will be positive. If the bottom line comes in much higher than expected the stock could really pop. Good earnings have been rewarded in the stock prices recently. The key is higher earnings and forward expectations. Disney has it in all areas of the company. Let's see how the next week goes. Could we see Disney pop to $80.00??????? Maybe.
According to Fandango advance tickets for Frozen with the new sing-a-long is out selling
