In his own words....Basically.....Zacks gets paid for the stuff Jason does.....read it...
No one or no company paid me to specifically write the above article. It is 100% my personal opinion, with help of my two associates (one PhD and one MD). I decide what to cover and what to write on. I wouldn't hold the CFA designation if I made it a habit to write things I didn't believe.

However, Zacks does have a relationship with almost every (but not all) companies I write on. After all, they are in business to make money. Zacks isn't a charity. They make money pretty much the same way all investment research firms make money. So if you think I'm bias or a paid-shill, then you probably should assume all professional analysts are the same. But I'd argue that just about everyone that writes on Seeking-Alpha has an agenda. This isn't a hobby. It's my job. I get paid, by Zacks, to provide investment advice to investors. Zacks uses me to make money. Que sera sera.

I don't think I'm trying to hide anything. Everyone knows I work for Zacks. I linked my disclaimer above right next to my name. I specifically did that so people could be fully aware of who I am (it's also linked on my Twitter).

So again - the above is 100% my opinion and no one or no company paid me to write it. Zacks does business with 90% of the names I write on, same way all banks have relationships with companies, but I pick and chose what I write and who I write on.

He open admits that his emloyer Zacks, gets paid from the clients that Jason's covers....read his response to that question that someone else brought up..

ERGO...jason gets paid from Zacks..and Zacks gets paid from the client for Jason's coverage.....

Funnynthing...It Seems like I wasnt the only person suggesting that he motives for writing this story was fee generating income for him....or his employer Zacks....

Go read the comments section of seeking alpha after his story to see how others investors questioned his reasons for writing this story !

So basically..he is providing coverage for Zacks....which gets paid a fee....from the companies that he promotes...and he further gains additional income from Seeking Alpha Pro...

The fact that his employer, receives income for his coverage of these companies means you are not getting UNBAISED INVESTMENT INFORMATION SAME AS YOU WOULD IF YOU READ THE STORY IN THE WALL STREET JOURNEL OR BARRONS OR INVESTMENT BUSINESS DAILY.

Whenever money changes hands for one company to provide " coverage " for another company the there isnt unbaised facts presented to the public.....this the story can be portrayed inncorrectly to
Appease the company that is paying for the coverage !!

Thank you Garroty,.....I took my own advice and bought stock in HALO exactly after reading your post, knowing all to well, when a retail investor shouts GET OUT.......that's a good estimate of when to get in........and it served me very well.

Here we are back to $14.......after buying in the low $13's

Thank you for crying GET OUT.......it was the perfect contrary indicator.....to do the exact opposite !

  • Just a few days ago this quack was totally bullish on CUR......

We all know that BCLI theraputic effects dont last anywhere near CUR does......

So Jason takes the check from Maxim....or from BCLI....and writes a positive article trying as best as he can to
Over state the positives on BCLI

    What horrible reporting !!!!

Already have a partnership agreement signed with Chugai in Japan....ahead of the results....

    Very interesting....Chugai owned by LaRoche.....

He has been on the board since 2010.....so I wonder, what did he see now after being on the Board for five years....that would make him pull the trigger and BUY 5,000,000 shares of ATHX stock....so close to the
    Phase II data release ????

    :-)

    Great find dude !!

Usually when a retail investor makes such a mistake by yelling GET OUT.....GET OUT......that's usually the exact moment to BUY the stock.........because the retail investor is usually a perfect indication of what NOT to do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Look at the top 3 holdings of XBI index.......HALO is their #3 holding..........

This XBI index has been getting hit since Friday........thus that's the reason for the sell off that started Friday when the options expired !

  • Missed the big move from 10 to 16.......watched this forever and never got it.....till today.

I don't think there is any specific bad company news looming......just a Bio-tech correction........which is normal because this name has doubled from last year........

So this normal pullback lets other investors get a shot at getting in.........

I took that chance............long with the rest of you guys now......

  • Lets be honest here........

None of us typing here on this Yahoo message board has the smarts or the resources that Chugai Pharmaceuticals and Roche has, the type of smarts that was required to due the investigative work that needed to be done for them to invest in ATHX.......right ??!!!!!!!

Those companies have BILLIONS of dollars at their hands, and some of the SMARTEST medically inclined scientists that are going to advise them BEFORE they made a partnership deal with ATHX.

Does that mean that investing in ATHX is a sure thing.......no. Nothing but death and taxes are ever for sure.

But on Wall Street they say a smart investor would do well to follow the lead of investors and companies that have far smarter people and far greater resources examining the prospects that are out there, and make a investment decision based on what the BIGGER FISH are chasing.

So.......being a little fish, I'll stick with ROCHE and Chugai being able to perform the RISK analysis better than I, when it comes to investing in ATHX........given that they make a good living in this space ( pharmaceutical drugs ).....each and every day !!!!

    You are Completely wrong.

They SOLD puts to Open....which is a Bullish call.....

They also Sold puts to open on the May 3 puts as well......

You are really bad at analyzing the data and try to give wrong negative news.....but the truth is the news is positive and not negative !!!!!!

No...I do not think Chugai has the right of first refusal for anything Outside of Japan, just for other indications inside of Japan...

This is from the annual report issued by ATHX...

""" We maintain rights to develop and commercialize MultiStem for ischemic stroke outside of Japan, and, for all other indications in Japan, provided that we give Chugai the first right to negotiate to add such indications to the license in Japan. """

Notice how the last sentence reads.......it only applies to the license " In Japan ".....not worldwide.

Found on page 15 of the 10K filed for ATHX just a few weeks ago

    AGREED !!!!

The Q & A session was extremely positive with ALL of the analysts.

First mover advantage in Japan......with what the Japanese consider " Best in Class " technology from ATHX..........

They could be making tons of money in Japan WAY BEFORE the FDA finally gives them the green light here in the US !!!!!!

Japan's new approval system might make other countries change their SLOW approval processes !!!
