... to maintain confidence in EDP. The more I buy the lower the damn stock goes!!! What the hell is going on -- as the "Analysts" continue to tout "Strong Buy" ! Yeah, right, where is the bottom? How long can any organization tolerate yields of this magnitude? Are we all being scammed?
I agree! But the problem is that so many screaming "buys" are out there, it's hard to choose which is the most lucrative.! And, personally I have no liquid cash to invest. I would have to sell stocks that I feel are 'keepers" to buy the new "keepers"! The best advice today: Do Not Sell! A loss is permanent.
Sure the dividend is attractive, but the fly in the ointment is the possibility of a dividend cut/reduction. If that happens (despite company claims of a steady dividend) this stock will plummet like there's no tomorrow. Pure and simple: it's a gamble. Do you believe the company enough to buy more shares? Do 'ya feel lucky?
Say a prayer that they don't mess with the dividend. If it's cut this stock will drop like a rock with a very, very long recovery period.
They had better do something and be damn quick about it! If this dividend is tampered with, the stock will drop like there's no tomorrow - and will take a decade or more to recover, if ever. My how the mighty Chevron has fallen. The board of directors should exercise their authority and make the responsible heads roll.
