I think the MB needs both mac and mag and hopefully they agree to disagree and have a more respectful dialogue. Becasue we can;t afford one person being put off by the other.
ok got it! makes sense. you are sort of a permanent skeptic/short of this firm. I didnt realize that your position is not going to change. let us see what happens early Nov.
I may very well be one of the "sheeple" but for a person of your knowledge and stature, your banal mockery and consistently negative messages are beneath you! You could very well continue to make profits (both as a long and a short) while maintaining a respectable/proactive image as you had a month and a half back! Where has that macugen gone!?

I think they have it now, and I think it's 50-50 that it's good or not. There is a conservative scenario that looks like this: 3422 phase 1 didn't go as well as planned. However, ongoing data for SVR in 3102 plus sofobusvir is going gangbusters. So they ACHN waited to release disappointing data on 3422 phase 1 until after they could announce the late breaker poster presentations, one of which focuses on gt3 for 3422, but not any of the other genotypes. Now they are free to release the 3422 data, which could be bad. (Remember, it was not until phase 2b that the BMY nuc purchased from Inhibitex failed due to causing heart failure, and prior to that it had stellar data. 3422 has a long way to go, and it may not have done what it was supposed to do in phase 1 on gt1 - that is one possible reason why the results have not been released yet.) The safety valve for this scenario is that 3102 is worth at least 50% more than the current market valuation, by itself (at least I think so). So even if 3422 failed in phase 1 against gt1, which would cause a $4-5 fall, it should come right back """""""
Have you completely become anti-ACHN now? What has changed now? You were such a massive advocate for ACHN and its potential for the longest time and suddenly you only post negative comments about the company. Is there something about ACHN that you have learned over the past couple of months that has caused you to change your position?
Do you still believe in ACHN's potential for having a successful hep-c drug and its potential as a strong buyout candidate? Or do you think it is too late for them?
this is a one-on-one conference. there are no scheduled presentations. I am sure Achillion gets a lot of investor interest. I am hoping somebody from Baupost is there as well at the Achillion meeting.
I am not sure there will be a press release though today. I think as magman said it is probably new interest from investors attending Achillion one-on-one.
How comparable is ACHN to IDenix as of today (in terms of the stage in which its drugs are - ph 1 / ph 2 etc). Did idenix receive such a valuation because their drug was sligtly in an advanced stage?
will they issue any statement about the 300mg dosing (if completed) or is it typically protocol to release a statement only after all higehr doses are completed?
mac - didn't mean to offend you in any way at all! pls dont stop posting! that will be a big disservice to this message board.
Also in contrast to somebody else's comment here about blindly following others for investing, I am not doing that. I try to educate myself but it clearly is helpful to hear from guys like you on the technical aspects. As i said before my investment in this is very small as I still feel there is very high level of risk in the outcomes - partly because I am not a pharma person.
I have a lot of respect for your posts but some of your recent comments have thrown me off. Suddenly you make negative comments like "I sold at 11.50 and I,ll make it back under 11 over the 2 days!". People who value your posts may be affected by your sentiment. Maybe unknowingly you are making comments like the shorts because you want to profit from this trade? In any event, I know everyone makes money from daily fluctuations and that has nothing to do with long term view but still I wanted to .point out. I really hope tomorrow the stock trades up well over 12. I have no reason to believe one way or the other though without any news. The fact that RA is lightening up doesn't worry me as I think other institutions are buying at this level of volumes. Certainly it's not the average joe out there behind all the buys over the last few days (taking up shares of RA and QVT.
mac - what did you say last night. Sorry - there are a lot of people on this board interestedin what you have to say. But wait - why is this damn thing going down so fast today? Shake out is ok but this is too much!
