vikesbull,
How did you figure that out?
Deal will accelerate Qatarlyst’s development as the insurance markets preferred e-trading solution
Doha, Qatar [7th April 2013]: The Qatar Financial Centre Authority (“QFCA”) today announced that it has reached an agreement to sell Qatarlyst, an electronic trading exchange for the global insurance and reinsurance industry to Ebix Singapore Pte Limited, a subsidiary of Ebix, Inc. (NASDAQ:EBIX), a leading international supplier of On-Demand software and E-commerce services to the insurance industry.
The QFCA believes that Qatarlyst’s divestment to Ebix, Inc. is the best option to leverage Qatarlyst’s capabilities, develop the business and secure wider market acceptance. Ebix will be rebranding the service as a part of its EbixExchange platform worldwide.
Qatarlyst was established in November 2008 to provide the next generation web-based technology solution for brokers and insurance firms to negotiate, place and accept large commercial risks electronically. Qatarlyst has made considerable progress in winning the insurance markets acceptance with its value added web-based services and has emerged as a major innovator in the industry.
Ebix’s expertise in the insurance industry coupled with its commitment to open architecture and standards is expected to provide an even higher level of quality of services to Qatarlyst’s customer base. It expands Qatarlyst’s international reach and also offers access to Ebix’s insurance focused staff of approximately 2,000 employees. Ebix’s commitment to the London market modernization program, its existing relationships with top brokers and insurance companies around the world and its existing exchange presence in London, allows it the ability to be the e-platform of choice to power paperless transactions for the commercial insurance and reinsurance industry. Both Qatarlsyt and Ebix intend to work to ensure a seamless transition of the business.
There have been many positive articles on EBIX. As matter of fact there have been more positive than negative stories on Seeking Alpha on the stock. The thing is that the positive analysis do not seem to affect its share price. Conversely, EBIX shares spiral down wildly on negative news although a few people believe any of those claims to be true.
what a roller coaster ride this stock is..............
No one is holding it, it's just an underperforming stock............
sure, you just have to wait a little longer and this stock will skyrocket..........
You got it figured out............
Sure, tell that to the investors that have been in since 2010.......they will throw rocks at you........
I believe someone just unloaded a huge number of shares. According to yahoo finance the number of Ebix shares traded only a few minutes after the bell is 161,109...........
by the way, shorts should be trusted at times. regardless of their intentions, they are just a skeptical bunch. skepticism can be good. remember ENRON? it was the shorts that first stared talking about it. read the smartest guys in the room.
you think what we write here will determine whether the stock goes up or down? stop blaming the shorts for what happening. the stock is just underperforming; that's it.
if this is indeed such a great company, why was there only one analyst at the cc today? i remember the days when there would at least 7 or 8 analysts during the conference calls. people are either tired or smell something fishy..........
only one analyst was present during the cc. i remember a year or so ago ebix had at least 7 or 8 analysts during conference calls...................
you guys sound like you watching a boxing match............LOL.......
I remember back in 2011 in on of the conference falls he said "the best years are ahead of us". I do not think it has been true for may stockholders so far. He said "all we need is a little tailwind". Every stock that I follow is feeling the headwind except for EBIX. But lets wait and see...................
have you noticed every time Raina starts talking about EBIX's bright future during conference calls starts sinking.......will it be the same today?
