Pullback AfterHrs started. Besides quiet period still 3wks from today and alot of ups and downs will happen specially October is usually a bloodbath month. Stocks usually selloff 5 to 10%!
CyberArk Software (CYBR), an Israel-based provider of IT security software focusing on protecting privileged accounts, has been pulling back the past few days after an initial jump higher following its IPO last week. The stock has been quite volatile since it priced its 5.36 mln share IPO at $16, above the expected range of $13-15. It then traded as high as $35.88 before pulling back late last week.
CyberArk is a pioneer of a new layer of IT security software that protects organizations from cyber attacks that have made their way inside the network perimeter to strike at the heart of the enterprise. CYBR's software is specifically designed to protect what are called "privileged accounts." As opposed to an end user account which may be a secretary or a receptionist's access to a business network, a privileged account would be the IT Database Manager or some other high ranking IT personnel account. Privileged accounts have access to things that an end user would not have access to. Examples include servers, routers, databases, IT infrastructure.
As such, sophisticated hackers can do a lot more damage/theft with a privileged account access as opposed to an end user access code. CyberArk says you often see, for example, a single password that is shared among hundreds of IT people (both inside employees and outside consulting firms) for a particular piece of equipment. Companies have focused more on end user security protocols and have not focused as much on privileged accounts. However, that is changing.
CYBR has a lot of positives going for it. The timing of this IPO could not be better in light of the numerous data breaches (Apple, Chase Bank, and most recently Home Depot etc.) that have garnered headlines in recent weeks. Other security-related stocks (CHKP, FTNT, PANW, SYMC, VRSN) have made big moves in recent months. The cybersecurity market is one of the hottest areas in technology right now although it's not a rising tide lifting all boats. For example, FEYE and IMPV have seen huge drops in recent months.
As such, you need to be selective and focus on the names that have the right technology. We are not cybersecurity experts here but CYBR seems to be differentiated somewhat in that it focuses on privileged accounts. Most cybersecurity efforts are focusing on end users and the privileged account layer seems to have been somewhat neglected. However, it sounds like the more sophisticated cyber attacks are increasingly targeting the privileged account layer. Also, the growth of cloud computing and virtualization and the migration of data from desktop PCs to mobile phones has intensified the need for companies to beef up data security.

geronimoandsadie Life changer with no revenue. One exoskeleton approval will not pay all those R&D and employees. 70K/ unit is just way out of the ballpark and far and few will buy this unit. Insurance are the biggest cheapos and they take forever to approve something or treatments. I don't care what you say but that is how broken insurance works in this country. Slow to reimburse and fast to collect. All a bunch of dirty thieves
