It's one crazy person who posts every day. Best to just ignore him. I've seen message boards ruined by engaging the nutcases. Every post ends up being a #$%$ contest between 2 angry people.

Every time a stock goes in a different direction than an investor wants, someone yells manipulation. But that's rarely the case.

People are spooked about Uber and medallion prices. And they're selling this stock because of it. We're at a dividend yield that's basically indicating junk bond status. I also think people see interest rates going up in the near future and are unwilling to take as big of risk chasing yield, and so are bailing out of TAXI.

So you can bet: are people wrong and this company will continue to rake in the cash, or are people right and the future of taxi medallions is unsound?

I personally think this stock is oversold. And we shall see how things hold up through earnings in a couple of weeks. But I'd hardly call it manipulation.

Where are you getting this medallion pricing information? I'd love to verify these bids myself.

    Thanks for the info.

It's a nice thought, but I don't think a stock declines 18% year to date and 30% off it's November high because of accounting changes in Russell Index funds.

I have a hard time believing shorts are going to want to hold onto this one, and pay the 8+% dividend it costs to do that.

TAXI earnings are going to take a hit in markets outside of NYC. However, I have a very hard time believing that NYC and the vested interests and their government connections are just going to let the medallion market collapse. UBER will either be made illegal, or on the spirit of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" they will somehow be pulled into the regulatory scheme they've got going on in the city. Perhaps they will force Uber cars to buy some kind of medallion, or pay for some kind of a permit, But something will be done to limit the supply of fare-based car trips.

Seems oversold here as I don't foresee the NYC medallion value plummeting by massive amounts without some sort of political response.

We shall see though. Takes balls to short a stock paying an 8% yield.
