And Merry Christmas to the one with the itchy trigger finger on the thumbs down, whoever you are.
MBB, It is the American left, and our president who have chosen to politicize and polarize , you conveniently attempt to ignore such facts. And the murder of the two officers if far more than just "unfortunate".
"No way would any of the people you mentioned want cops killed."
Whether they did or did not intend to cause the murder of anyone, their race baiting politics are responsible for what would be an obvious conclusion to the politician's speech. One can draw a straight line between such vitriol and the inevitable actions of this past weekend in NYC. Amazing it did not happen sooner, but I am sure it will happen again. The signs were obvious as well, "what do we want? Dead Cops." When do we want it? Now!" And the Mayor of NYC says nothing against this obvious fire he fueled. It's been happening ever since BHO arrived on the seen, and now that his popularity has diminished, it's happening with ever greater frequency to prop up the base. Don't doubt me on this, it's part of the left's playbook.
In a time of mostly racial harmony, and the first half black president we get attempts to divide us, emitting from the American left. Way to go idiots.
This weekend, an officer in Tarpon Springs FL was gunned down in the street, then the man that shot him, ran him over with his car. And yes, the man that committed the crime was a black male. The officer was not black. Does the color of each matter? According the the left and the press, it does.
incase you want to know, the officer has 6 children, and 15 yeas ago, the officer left his NYC badge behind to live and work in FL. Cops have a most difficult job, they deserve more respect and admiration than they are currently receiving.
Rulebreaker, keep writing, whatever you are doing, it's working.., should be back to $20 in no time.
All, never, always...
Careful with that, it always bites you in the end. Yes, I know.
"There are thousands of future Alan Grosses. Some go abroad as students on a school trip, others as missionaries to dig wells and save souls, still others as journalists hoping to document and correct mis-rule. Doctors go to repair limbs and activists to advocate for the plight of women. In the world’s most desperately poor and poorly governed places, there are always Americans looking to make life a little better. They make perfect hostages, just like Alan Gross. Didn’t Obama’s deal with Cuba just put a giant bull’s eye on the backs of those humanitarians?"
"desperate people without funding"
Who are are we speaking of here, Russia, Cuba, or USA?
If you think it is a good thing that Russia's economy is being crushed, think again. Desperate people do desperate things. Not that Putin doesn't deserve it personally.
Making it easier for the last vestiges of Communism to survive in Cuba is not what an American president should have on his list of accomplishments. Aligning with despots for economic and strategic gain, isn't that what the American left have been complaining about since the start of the cold war?
On another note; good to see the shorts taking a break today. Go Celldex!
Ed, I am certain you understand that your opinions regarding the Communist Castro government are not shared by all Cubans, both here and in Cuba.
Whipper, BHO is not the man to properly set this in motion, he will only make the Communist government stronger in a time when they are not getting oil and other subsidies as they are accustomed to getting from Russia and Venezuela. BHO is essentially bailing the Castro brothers out of a difficult spot.
Not saying they should not be talking to them, but they should demand much more significant reforms.
Just wait, soon the American people will be financing oil and other subsidies for our Communist neighbor. Again, bailing them out when they were on their way out, throwing the Communist Castro brothers a lifeline. How stupid.
"Sanchez said: "I respect the different opinions on the embargo. Why? Because they are born out concern for Cuba. There are people who believe the embargo will help Cuba become more democratized. There are also those of us who believe Cuba will become more democratized without it. But all of us agree that we want democracy in Cuba."
Though Sanchez wants to see an end to the embargo, she warns that the US needs to be "cautious" that lifting the embargo does not "end up breathing life into a regime that is on its last legs"."
Nick, your leftism is showing. We, the USA have quite the history with Cuba. Your tacit support for Cuba's communist regime, and lack of support for the USA is stunning.
Nick, do some proper reading on what has happened and is still happening in Cuba. Did you know the Cuban government just recently rounded up/arrested about 500 dissidents? Do you want to know about this kind of activity? Do you care about such oppression from this Stalinist State? And for the record, most Cubans love America and Americans. Unless they are hardened Communist.
Cuba is no enemy of the US, Communist are, and always will be enemies of Liberty loving people. You know, those kind of people whom think we are born with certain inalienable rights.
Nick, if you think peace, freedom, and liberty are the natural order of things without great effort to keep them, and cannot be easily lost in our lifetime, well, you would be wrong.
"Life in Cuba is difficult for dissidents like Sanchez, who have been met with verbal attacks to physical detention, although Sanchez notes the worst imprisonment is that of forced silence. "[We are] imprisoned by censorship, imprisoned by laws, imprisoned on an island that is a prison surrounded by water on all sides."
But in recent times, the Cuban government, which, Sanchez explained, has taken note of the events during the Arab spring, has been cautious about how they deal with the regime's detractors. The Cuban government has started to engage with bloggers, creating pro-government blogs to denounce those like Sanchez as agents of outside enemies like the United States. But Sanchez believes this reveals that the government can no longer refuse to acknowledge the power and effect the Cuban blogosphere is having on the people."
Nick, if they can approve early, (based on ReACT) I think they will. As long as early approval does not hurt the already enrolled P3 trial, and of that, I am not certain how no damage is done.
How do you approve early without damaging the enrollment and ongoing function of the existing blinded trial? Does anyone know how this is done?
When younger brother Castro announced the agreement today, he was in his military uniform, not a suit, his military uniform. They will continue the oppression. And the USA foreign policy cannot operate in a vacuum, what we do with one dictatorship/ , affects how other dictatorships respond to us. This stuff actually matters in the long run.
Leftist legislators in NY just announced a ban on fracking. Now we are waiting for KING BHO to announce another executive order banning fracking in all 50 states. You know he would, if he thought he could get away with it.
You know the president has done what he could to raise the cost of energy in our nation. Don't dare deny this undeniable truth. Gas prices spiked when he became president, no matter the deep recession. largely due to BHO's attach on traditional exploration and extraction of oil, coal, natural gas, the infrastructure supporting those industries, and the plants that convert those resources into electricity.
Thank God for free people and industry pursuing legal alternatives to governmental obstruction.
