Today, market was off 2.1% due to Greek crisis. But why were airlines (AAL) off by 4%?
Oil continued down over $1. Usually, thats a positive. Euro strengthened which should help (sllightly) international travel.
Any ideas? That said, I'm a bull based on great metrics.
I wonder if new non approved migraine treatments are affecting PTX.
News on TEVA and ALDR web site speak of the new approaches in pipeline. Of course, bird in hand (PTX) should be worth more than a hope in the bush.
I read the 10-Q. It reports tonnage and royalty income.
How do figures compare to expectations? Apparently, MSB is hardly followed. There are no EPS estimates that I know.
My understanding is if total UBTI in IRA is less than $1000, then there is no tax liability for your IRA. Of course, this limit may change in future tax years.
If you are below the limit, you do not file for the IRA. Otherwise, you must file Form 990-T.
As to your question about UBTI for SXCP, I do not know. I bought the stock this year. Unfortunately, company does not publish this info.
A word of caution to investors: A Cohort represent a very small sample. In the case of Actimab-A, the sample size is 3, a riduculously small size. If only 1/3 patients is success, instead of 2/3, the Street would see this as disaster.
MTD is maximum tolerable dose. Each cohort is a higher dose. One would think higher doses would kill more cancer. The danger is at some high dose, the medicine is non-tolerable and will cause dangerous side affects. The effect would reduce efficacy of dose - we killed the cancer but by the way we also killed the patient.
Despite all this negative caution, I remain very bullish. I can see FDA stopping trials to allow this therapy be used in the over 65 age group. This AML group would normally be too old to receive chemo, and thus have very limited survival rates - 4 to 8 weeks. That is, they will die very quickly because there is no alternative.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
FFO is Funds from Operations. It is a measure of cash flow or cash available for distribution. Often, analysts prefer AFFO or Adjusted Funds from Operations.
In the case of REITs, FFO is a better indicator of available funds to distribute. For most equity, dividends represent a fraction or payout ratio of earnings to be paid out.
If you are putting real cash into these investments, you need a little education.
I think market is waiting for FDA decision on treximet use by adolescents. It supposed to be issued today 5/14.
I would think no news is bad news (failure to approve).
Seasoned pharma exec joining this very small pharma company. What does it signify?
I agree, its very positive. Dr Yang would not jump over to ATNM unless he carefully reviewed prospects.
RESI reported Q1 with 0.22 EPS (below est.)
Does anyone have a handle on FFO numbers for Q1. Isn't FFO the best metric for a REIT? Isn't FFO the best indicator of dividends?
MITL perfomance has be bad this past month. Could drop be due to 1)MITL - MVNR arbitrage; 2) MVNR shareholder receiving MITL shares dumping?
What are some positives?
1. Dollar weakening or Canadian dollar strenghthening.
2. Telecom sector receiving some M&A.
Seems good value play.
Seems other airlines like ALK, UAL are beating EPS estimates. Fuel cost drop outweights dollar increase.
What about HA? The market has been marking down airlines today.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
