I really do appreciate your answer. Best of luck to you and your Dad. The frustration stems from the lack of enthusiasm being shown for this life changing product. I wish Mannkind would trot out Al Mann instead of Matt and Hakkan. Both may be good at their jobs, but both are horrible at being PR people. I do understand that they are different products. We are not sure about the "deal" between Sanofi and Mannkind, but Sanofi is really not trying hard enough, at least it doesn't seem to look like it as of late and the proof is in the dismal and I mean dismal script numbers.
I am not denying they are up against significant presure from a who lot of people, What I am NOT understanding is Sanofi doesn't seem to have a problem pushing Toujeo, promoting Toujeo; neither do they have a problem advertizing that product.
Afrezza on the other hand is hardly being advertized, people aren't even aware of it and hence low sales. Sanofi doesn't even mention it in their conference CALL!!!
What is EXTREMELY disappointing is that they spent 10 years developing and getting approval for a product that they have now spent almost a year and a half trying to get it in the hands of diabetics and TODAY, more than 95% of the diabetics or their doctors don't even know it exists !!!!
yes with Toujeo and Lantus, not with Afrezza.
I had emailed Matt a few weeks ago about marketing, and he responded that they had stated consumer marketing a few weeks back and that in a few weeks we would see some major improvements in the prescription numbers. So far nothing!
I am now questioning their consumer marketing, it seems like veil is being pulled over our HEADS!!
I am prepared to lose every dime I have, yet I am SIMPLY PSSSSSEFDD off at the lies! On a 350+ dow day we go down 3 %?
NOBODY DISBELIVES you! Afrezza is a good product, but HOW many "good" products never get to mainstream consumers, because of FAILED launches? If I were Mannkind, I could do better than ef@fing SANOFI to MARKET my PRODUCT!!
Thank you for this post. I still wonder why, if PCPs like yourself are seeing good results, is the Afrezza script count still stagnant though. I am not impatient, but would think that there would be steady increase in prescriber numbers. I have seen a rise in prescription renewals but not new patients. Are you recommending Afrezza to newer patients, or more of your current patients? That's my biggest concern and should be a concern for Mannkind.

Pass it on.
sorry it is Insuman. First reference September 2014, when we were still looking at Sanofi as a company that would stay true to it's word. Sanofi so far has been sandbagging Afrezza from what I can tell.
Agreed. It is NOT Afrezza. It is Insuman. I downloaded each of the EMA documents and the first reference for HUMAN INSULIN is in September 2014. At the rate we are going, that would have been a miracle, but alas, not TRUE, and again we wait. ARRRRAAARRRGGG!
Yes Congo. Plenty of reasons to be frustrated. Have you noticed the utter lack of defense coming from the company? Have you noticed the endless shorting?
Why are script numbers still so low? (about 6 new scripts in each state this last week) .After an entire year since they announce partnership? After 10 years of development? Wouldn't you expect your "company" to hit the ground running and be ready for commercial success? I am not so sure if AL is the person loaning his shares out ? I am not accusing him. I am just wondering.
yes but I am afraid of what the shorts are going to do. SLOW VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY SLOW.
If Mannkind management does not get off their behinds and do something about this, I'm afraid we are in a lot of trouble. I think sentiment is getting more and more negative and pitchforks are coming out. They have made their long term investors suffer significantly. The heat must be put on the management. It's make it or break it time.
It is all about Sales. Let me offer Matt some advice just as Al offered him advice:
" Matt it's about the sales, the rest of the new products and technosphere will take care of themselves; worry about selling the product, there should be no holding back selling the product, the patients have spoken, now it's time to get Sanofi to start YAPPING! once you sell the product it the pps will take care of itself! "
