FB always shows consolidation before moving upward. Should hit $90 in 1Q2015.

Try the rum! Whatever angst you felt with ONVO will quickly disappear. And so might your memory of the trip.
FYI: Don't walk around alone at night.

  • Both good signs. Still say we cross $8 before year's end. Looking good for 2015.

If so, when should we expect to know what we will be receiving? Thanks.

Call me when DRYS hits .25. It's a crime what the CEO did. Took all the cheese and left the common stock holders holding an empty bag. Criminal, a the very least.

    FB and Warren Buffet Rumors?

    by redtr4 Dec 16, 2014 9:36 AM
    redtr4 redtr4 Dec 17, 2014 4:23 AM Flag

lolat330-55: FB is just the kind of stock Buffet likes to own.; i.e. good cash flow, rising profits; little competition and the leader in its field. Maybe the poster who originally brought this up is indeed full of you-know-what, but who really knows? Buffet is getting up there in years, and like a lot of folks in his age bracket, new technology, or new anything for that matter, is generally shunned. But you know there are younger players involved with Berkshire-Hathaway who are more open minded than Mr. Buffet.

Again, might all be just a rumor sans foundation. But, if not Buffet, given FB's description I noted above, maybe somebody else?

    FB and Warren Buffet Rumors?

    by redtr4 Dec 16, 2014 9:36 AM
    redtr4 redtr4 Dec 16, 2014 10:18 AM Flag

Another poster brought this up about three days ago. Naturally, I am curious. Just following up to try and find out if there's any meat to the story or the posting was just a figment of someone's imagination.

However, I don't view Buffet getting involved with FB as being far-fetched. FB's revenues come from advertising, and those revenues keep escalating. Buffet doesn't get involved in "techie" stocks, but FB is really in the advertising business, and that's a biz Buffet understands. Berkshire-Hathaway once had a strong position in Ruben H. Donnelly & Co., the folks who published the yellow pages. RHD was, like FB, essentially selling advertising, so there's a history worth noting.

Appreciate your reply, but I'll wait more some that are a lot more serious than yours.

    BARRONS ON FB.

Always nice to get an endorsement and a BUY rating. Market sucks right now, but once the insiders shake out the Nervous Nellies, the Dow and NASDAQ will rise again. I don't see much happening until 1Q15, and then I think FB will climb to $90.

Same old, same old. The fat cat is living large and the common stock holders got butchered. It's a crime, but caseyboy416, you are right. He ain't paying the money back and he certainly ain't going to prison. The only question that remains is, how low will the pps go before management waves the white flag a declares bankruptcy?

    Sentiment: Sell

  • Rumors persist that Warren Buffet has taken a hefty position in FB. Thus far, Berkshire-Hathaway has not announced news. Not sure what percentage of shares someone has to own before they are required to disclose ownership. Also not sure if they have to disclose immediately or if there's a grace period of sorts.

FB has been doing great on its own, but obviously an investment by someone like Warren Buffet would be more than icing on the cake. What are you guys hearing about this?

    Sentiment: Buy

  • When DRYS was selling for triple digits a few years back, could anyone have predicted the stock losing 99% of its value? This is a sad turn of events. I don't even want to know how many millions of dollars investors have lost on this puppy. This is cruel.

    Facebook going into earnings

Maybe Zuck will comment on the various reports linking Warren Buffet to FB? Buffet normally shies away from anything tech, but FB is really an advertising platform and Buffet certainly understands advertising and ad revenues. Stay tuned. This could get interesting if the rumors are even remotely true.

We can only hope that ONVO follows AGIO's arc. AGIO has risen from $15 to over $120 this year. Many even predict, even though its drug is only in Phase I testing, that the pps will soar higher, yet.

Can ONVO do the same thing? Well, if the news continues to be positive and CNBC's pundits tout it like they touted AGIO, the sky is the limit. But first, we have to see sales results and associated projected profits. They don't have to be off-the-charts good, just a solid indication that the buyers are ready to buy and the profits are decent and sustainable. If that happens in the next 90 days, ONVO will be $25 or higher.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • .......it's off to the races. I'm still on board with my prediction that FB will hit $8 before year's end. Maybe even highe if we get more specifics about pending orders and/or interest from big pharma?

Would be huge if the Oracle of Omaha announced he was taking a position in FB. Heretofore, Buffet has been hesitant to invest in anything he calls "that-new-fangled- stuff- -I don't- understand".

But advertising is something he certainly can understand, and basically, that it what FB has become; a strong advertising vehicle supported by a platform that garners lots of eyes. Social media is even better than TV or Radio advertising because people check in on FB all day long. TV viewing and/or listening to Radio is generally done only at certain times of the day.

If indeed Buffet enters into FB, it's an endorsement on par with no other. I would expect FB to immediately jump to $90 on the announcement alone. Since it's Christmas season, maybe Buffet is feeling a little frisky and will make a tender offer of $150 for FB? Now wouldn't that look nice under the tree!

I haven't considered selling the house I've been living in for the past 34 years. The fact that I've lived in the same house for 34 years is tantamount to me saying, "I like this house." Yet, even though I have no immediate plans to sell, I'd be foolish not to listen to an offer if someone were interested.

I don't think Murphy's comments about selling the company are anything more than that. He represents shareholders. If someone stepped up and made an offer for ONVO, he must at least consider it. Doesn't mean he (or us) will say yes.

You need to look up the definition of the word, "consider".
