Why do you lump everyone in to a category based on skin color, ethnic background, sex, etc...?
Sounds like the racism I used to hear in the deep south in the mid 60's.......
Our response doesn't matter.
Obama said in a speech last week we are stuck with the current law and nothing is going to stop it. This is his mandate.
As the great Bobby Knight said: "if r @pe is inevitable, you might as well sit back and enjoy it"...
When you combine teacher's unions focused on pay and pensions..........with 80% single parents in the inner city............. and a government that is driven to be politically correct.........you end up in 36th place......... At our school, the first graders wait outside in the snow and rain because the union contract states when the front doors can be opened..
With the implementation of ObamaCare, Libs are euphoric. Now the government will first direct the birth of your child and lastly will determine if they live or die when they get old via the death panels.
Our plan at work is being cancelled due to ObamaCare.
Our costs going up $7000 per year - the young people with families are really upset.
In the roll-out meeting I said "hey you Libs all voted for this".........
Obama stuck it to the bond holders, stock holders, the white collar work force, and the dealers. They also let Delphi die. But the Unions made out like bandits. It is the classic old boy network. Most of my neighbors working at GM lost their jobs (salaried) and have left town.
GM slashed costs as if in bankruptcy............. Everyone sacrificed, except the Unions.
Since 10% of the population pay 85% of the federal income tax and the lower 50% of wage earners pay zero, then it's fair to say that any tax cuts are going to the "rich" - they are the ones paying the majority of the taxes. Reagan cut taxes and the economhy boomed. Bush cut taxes and the economy took off. Obama and Fed are now printing money and he is trying to redistribute the money - this has never worked. Give the money to the businesses and let them invest in new plants, equipment, technology and JOBS.
Please don't tell me that redistributing the wealth grows the economy - IT DOESN'T !!
I think the fundamental solution to grow the economy is to increase the process of people producing goods and services.
For some reason we have slipped in to this mind set that give people money and they will spend.
When in fact we need to produce goods and services (create jobs).
Taking money from me and giving it to bureaucrats in the government does not produce much.
Allowing businesses to keep more money and reducing regulations so that they can compete creates both jobs and goods/services.
Apparently printing money doesn't create jobs.
Kennedy had campaigned on the slogan of “getting America moving again” (which the Nixon campaign staff had privately derided as the peristalsis plan). But, recovery from the 1958 recession had been very sluggish and unemployment remained perilously high—6.8% just after he took office. The Council of Economic Advisers urged him to attack unemployment with New Deal style spending but the president was worried that a large deficit ($7 billion) would be politically untenable in 1964. Unemployment did fall modestly, but it remained stagnant at nearly 6% well into 1963. The fact was that the New Frontier had been preoccupied with foreign affairs for three years and once the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty was ratified, JFK realized that it was time to turn to the economy. The 1964 election was barely a year away and likely to be fought against an articulate economic conservative, Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona.
The president finally decided that only a bold domestic program, including tax cuts, would restore his political momentum. Declaring that the absence of recession is not tantamount to economic growth, the president proposed in 1963 to cut income taxes from a range of 20-91% to 14-65% He also proposed a cut in the corporate tax rate from 52% to 47%. Ironically, economic growth expanded in 1963, and Republicans and conservative Democrats in Congress insisted that reducing taxes without corresponding spending cuts was unacceptable. Kennedy disagreed, arguing that “a rising tide lifts all boats” and that strong economic growth would not continue without lower taxes.
Democracy in action.
When 50% of the voters do not pay Federal Income tax and 25% of all workers are tied to the government..............And 10% of the population pays 85% of the tax, this is what you get.
The inmates have taken over.
This is what happened in Detroit.
I see you got your marching orders from the Huffington Post and MoveOn.org.
Yesterday was Barry Goldwater hates relegious conservatives.
Stay in lock step..............For goodness sake, don't use your own brain (then you would become a Con).
You mean a lack of income to the government ?
Oh, that will certainly grow the economy.
The QE doesn't seem to be helping the average working man - they are struggling while the artificial pump takes care of the rich and home owners.
Obama is trying to pump up rich people and redistribute the wealth at the same time - doesn't seem to be working does it ?
When the dust settles, I pay over 40% in taxes.
I am a slave to the government.
Libs and Obama would enjoy taking it all.
Just ask them.
Interest rates go up to historical averages.
Government can't stop spending. $500B to $1T deficits per year.
A National debt of $17T - An interest rate of 6% makes the interest on the debt 50% of what the Government takes in. Now you are in Detroit bankruptcy range.
Last week the market simply "speculated" that the stimulus would taper and it dropped 150 points.
Tell me why we shouldn't worry and how we can continue this insanity.
Have the Fed stop printing $85B per month and watch this house of cards tumble.
This is the most reckless and irresponsible Fed in the history of mankind.
Live it up while we bankrupt our children in the future.
Henry Ford is a great example of not having a miimum wage.
Ford paid people $5 an hour in an error where the average worker made 1/10th that.
He hired the best and paid them well.
Not much at $1700.
Started buying around $1500.
Escalate as it approaches $1200.
Will mortgage the house when it hits $900.
More American than you are.
I can tell by your posts you have experienced little in this country.
I suspect you live in Europe or another country based on your lack of understanding American history.
Just because a group all believe in the same philosophy, don't assume its the same person.
Look up the definition of paranoia and I suspect its you.
I thought the country rallied when at war. We DID in WWII. All parties united.
What I saw under the Bush administration was sickening. The Left and media did everything to make the war political. I don't like Obama, but back him when he sends our troops out.
