You assume too know many things about others when you in fact know very little. Speaking in tongues is not THE evidence of Holy Spirit baptism, although it may be AN evidence -- but speaking in tongues. THE evidence, in my case (and others i've heard) was a literal audible manifestation of Ephesians 1:13 (NIV-1984) in fulfillment of John 5:24-25 & Romans 8:16.

Btw, you might be surprised to learn that i am not a member of the Pentecostal denomination .

The extra oil (Holy Spirit Baptism) through obedience to Acts 2:38 as evidenced by Acts 5:32 and reaffirmed in Acts 19:1-5. Maranatha Chapel pastor does an excellent job explaining in his sermon entitled 'Holy Spirit -- part 5'. Check it out on your Roku or if it's available online.

How does one get the extra oil? Ray Bentley of Maranatha Chapel preached an excellent sermon, entitled Holy Spirit--part 5, discussing the importance of Acts 2:38 and receiving the Holy Spirit Baptism. Might wanna check it out.

  • He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. --Amos 3:7

  • ...because He gave me the humility, opportunity and words to apologize to various people who i had wronged over the years before He Sanctified (2 Thessalonians 2:13) and Sealed me (Ephesians 1:13-14, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22), as described above, into His Lordship (1 Corinthians 12:3, 2 Timothy 2:19) by His Promised personal Baptism (Mark 1:8, Acts 1:3-8) and concomitant Witness of Confirmation (John 5:24-25, Romans 8:16, 1 John 5:6) in His Spirit (Galatians 3:14-18, Hebrews 6:13-19) when He re-Birthed me into His Righteousness (Romans 8:1 & 14:17, 1 Corinthians 1:28-31, Galatians 3:27) literally on the 38th (John 5:1-5)anniversary date (John 14:20) of original physical conception in my mother’s womb June 26-27th1966 (Ecclesiastes 3:11, Romans 11:33). Thus, 1 Peter 1:3 and 2 Corinthians 5:17 supersede Psalm 51:5 by the Victory borne through John 3:1-5, even as God seemingly manifests Proverbs 25:2 and Mark 16:20 by revealing these uncanny contemporaneous confluences of verifiable personal detail corresponding with His Word.Although timings of such events may not transpire exactly the same way for every believer, consider the process demonstrated in Acts 2:38, 8:14-17 and 19:1-6 with the New Birth described by Jesus in John 3:1-5 in context that ‘Nicodemus’ means ‘Victory for the people’. This with Revelation 2:7, 2:11, 2:17, 2:26, 3:5, 3:12, 3:21 & 21:7.

  • ...because He Miraculously delivered me from a destructive prescription drug addiction, party drinking, licentiousness, materialism, anger, bitterness and a 20-year cigarette smoking habit (Galatians 5:19-21) when He washed me (Ezekiel 36:25) with the Water of His Word (Ephesians 5:26) and moved me to be re-BAPTIZED properly (Acts 19:1-5) INTO HIS NAME (‘Lord Jesus Christ’) for the remission of my sins (Acts 2:38 & 22:16) and a clear conscience toward God for Salvation (1 Peter 3:21) in New Life through His resurrection (Romans 6:3-6) as established in Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-16, 10:48, 16:33, 18:8, 19:5 & 22:16. Then on the night of June 26-27th (John 6:26-27) 2004, my belief appropriated (Hebrews 10:36), as Abraham’s (James 2:22-23, Hebrews 11:8-10), into the Gospel (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38-39/19:1-6), i received His PROMISE (Matthew 3:11, John 14:15-20, Galatians 3:14), consecration in His Holy Blessing (Luke 11:9-13, John 3:6-7 & Acts 2:38-39), when He explicitly Sealed me (Ephesians 1:13 Manifested Audibly via John 5:24-25, Romans 8:16 & 1 John 5:6 following Acts 8:15-17/19:6) into the Kingdom of God (Romans 14:17) by His Holy Spirit Baptism(Mark 1:8, Acts 1:3-8/2:38-39/19:6) confirmed with His personally Spoken WORD OF TRUTH (John 5:24-25, Romans 8:16, Ephesians 1:13, 1 John 5:6)thereby Sanctifying me as a firstfruit of His Salvation (James 1:18, 2 Thessalonians 2:13) to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24). Thus, by these two immutable things in which it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:17-18), He substantiated (Hebrews 11:1) my receipt of His Promised Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4-5= Acts 2:38-39/19:6= Ephesians 1:13-14) with the Absolute Assurance (Isaiah 55:11) of His corresponding Personal Oath (Galatians 3:14-18, Hebrews 6:13-19). See John 14:20 & James 1:17 with Matthew 3:16-17 alongside Malachi 3:6 & Hebrews 13:8 with Romans 8:29.

...because 16 years after my Encounter with Him at age 18, He demonstrated His Enduring Love (Psalm 136) for me again (Luke 15, Ephesians 2:3-5). This time in the faraway land of my forefathers (Ezekiel 36:24), where i was cut off from vineyards of iniquity & orchards of materialistic idolatry (Hosea 1-14) then led (Romans 2:4) to God-given (2 Timothy 2:25) HEARTBROKEN REPENTANCE (Psalm 32:5, Psalm 51:17, 2 Corinthians 7:10),shown that i was yet wretched, poor, naked & blind (Revelation 3:17), and finally overwhelmed (Deuteronomy 8:3) with a desperate appetite (Matthew 4:4/5:6, John 5:24-25/6:63= John 6:26-27), consistent with Hebrews 12:14, for my shame to be covered by the essential White Garment (Revelation 3:18) that would come through the Sanctification of receiving His personal Baptism (Mark 1:8 via Acts 8:15-17/19:6) in the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:9-13, John 3:6-7 unto Romans 14:17/Ephesians 1:13 manifesting 2 Thessalonians 2:13 & James 1:17-18 fulfilling John 4:23-24) by the predestined (Romans 8:29-30)appropriation of my belief (John 14:15-20, Acts 5:32, Hebrews 5:9) into the Gospel (John 3:1-16= Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38-39/19:1-6) to receive His Promise (Hebrews 10:36) as did Abraham (Hebrews 11:6-10) after Noah (1 Peter 3:18-22) according to the purpose of Him who conforms all things to the pleasure of His Will (Ephesians 1:4-11).

  • ...because He convicted me as a sinner (Romans 3:23-24) and brought me (John 6:37-44) to believe for His Salvation (Mark 16:16) at the age of 7 years old (Matthew 19:14)

...because, when i was 18, after several years of teenage rebellion (Isaiah 48:8), He saved me from dying in an automobile accident. Then later on that night of December 7th 1985, while i sat in a jail cell, He appeared to me (2 Corinthians 12:2) as Light (John 1:5, 1 Timothy 6:15-16) with a Message of Hope (Psalm 91:16)

  • …because God, who works all things according to the counsel of His Will, foreordained me to Eternal Redemption in Him (Ephesians 1:3-14, Hebrews 9:12) before i was born (Galatians 1:15) with my name written before the foundation of the world in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 13:8) to the praise of His glorious Grace (Ephesians 1:6/12/14).

Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” - Acts 2:36-39

And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John's baptism.” And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. - Acts 19:1-6

    1) No one can [really] say "Jesus is [my] Lord" except *IN* the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3 AMP/ESV). Thus, only those who've been Sealed into the Kingdom of God by His Spirit can legitimately call Jesus their Lord, which means 'owner'. For the Kingdom of God is defined explicitly in Romans 14:17 as "righteousness and peace and joy *IN* the Holy Spirit".

    2) Jesus explains to Nicodemus, whose name means 'Victory for the people', that New Birth is the will of the Father.  Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ - John 3:3-7

    3) Obedience to Acts 2:38 is doing the will of the Father as it fulfills John 3:1-7. The Spirit of Grace quickens this process in the predestinated saint according to Ephesians 2:4-8:  "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."

    4) Ephesians 2:9 specifies that "by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." The people in Matthew 7 are pointing out miraculous works they supposedly have done, which demonstrates they clearly never understood that even their best deeds are but filthy rags before God.

    5) God could never tell someone He foreKNEW that He never knew them

  • All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. - John 6:37-39,44

And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.” - Ezekiel 37:14

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. - Ezekiel 36:25-27

Yes, fire baptism according to 1 Peter 4:12-14

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. - 1 Peter 4:12-14
