I also know what a good company looks like . And this is a potentially great business. The management has worked hard on this model and they have achieved a model that appears to work very well and is loved by the consumer targeted base. The stock will trade higher even with shorts that have tried to frighten investors with a missive that misses the mark. Fabricone happens to be right about that in my opinion. Nice to note an insider sale. Selling does not excite me near as much as buying as there can be many reasons to sell but basically one reason to buy. I am up on this stock and my only regret is I did not take a bigger stake but if you sell it down I can buy so more. Shorts at some point at least the professional ones will abandon their theory at some point if they are wrong. If I am wrong I also have an exit strategy but it appears that the fundamentals remain very strong. It appears the sell off was anticipating a roll over in performance that did occur. It may be in another 5 years they will not grow at 32 % but again they may as there is a lot of space for these stores and the company currently enjoys a one year return on investment for a new store. Now that is an amazing fly wheel for growth in anyone's book. Even you Tony would like a 100% ROI on your investments. I am sure that would work for me as well. Good luck and I respect the damage a professional short campaign can accomplish but I am comfortable that Fabricone has the correct thesis here. Maybe that will be enough to drive investment ? I see Zack's upgraded today as well . I like that. Good luck on the short side Tony. It helps make a market.

Keith was neither a sinner nor saint with regard to his accomplishments at VVTV. We can find much to praise and much to wonder why the follow up steps were not in keeping with the beginning of his marathon . The key to future success is to stand on his shoulders correct what needs to be corrected but the focus is on innovation as the standard QVC approach while it delivered many benefits was not good enough to make VVTV a profitable 3rd position in the market place. This must be the primary business goal and the successful path will be more building than tearing down and I believe Mark Bozek has enough experience and horsepower to drive it to a powerful position of profitability. Good luck to Keith and while the job was not finished thanks for the effort. And long live the new King.

  • You all know that this stock is one of the great growth stories and in fact the shorts use the excellent growth to craft a story that would have you to believe that profitable growth is bad because how can it continue ? I would only ask you to consider how do you think any stock becomes a mult-i bagger ? The shorts are clever and would have you compare apples to oranges. If you make that comparison you might agree with the short side manipulative thesis. If you really do your own due diligence you may come out with an answer that says something like this. There is no real reason to believe that the paradigms model is broke at all with relative growth in sales revenue and profit that exceeds the best of class which if you park it as a dollar store operative you would compare it to ;DLTR, FDO, DG, and keep in mind that Ichan just bought FDO stock and announced some strong activists point of view right ? We are not surprised that FDO gained some 13% in one day correct ? What might surprise you that as of 6/6/2014 when we took our first position here the stock for DLTR is down -3.01 %, DG is up 7.0 % , FDO thanks to Carl Ichan is up 13.39 % how about that but wait there is more FIVE without an activist stepping in and just on the fundamental strength of the business model and their operating results and conservative outlook is up 14.92 % . It seems that the short side is trying to steal your money with their disingenuous comparisons to a Canadian franchise and a lack luster fashion chain that really has nothing in common other than they both operate stores. This stock may become over bought at some point but we are far from it here as there is much more good news and operating results along the short covering bloody trail. Do your own due diligence always and do your own thinking. You are capable of putting the facts pro and con down and getting the correct answer even if a cum laude MBA couldn't at the short sellers firm.Good luck and keep rolling.Where did I miss it

Founders to the rescue ? Yes this will happen and stock is too cheap at this level. Not an issue if the founder gets control but it is a prudent point of view that Chip will move the needle up and there are many ways to do it. Stay long and be strong . Shorts are #$%$ in the wind here.

LULU Thesis for buying Part IV

The Fashion Island store in Newport Beach always has at least a 5 to1 customer ratio over the Gap Athlete store which you can see from the LULU store. There really is not a high quality competitor selling premium product in this space.

How many of the proprietary brands do you speculate do over $5 million a year ? Along with licensed brands and new trends this accounts for key productivity in the teleshopping business . Proprietary branding is required to build business and improve margins ? I have never heard one comment about how successful this is any quantitative or even qualitative discussions in a conference call. Do you suppose this segment is growing faster than the company rate ? Why not ? Bad airtime management ? Poor merchandising, marketing, brand management strategy ? Or just execution ? I have in the past supported this team and note they have had some progress but this has slowed down and the lack of communication has hurt the stock as much as the performance. Telling the staff that there will be no money left to run the company if current management leaves and is paid off is despicable. Or did that not happen ?

wow !! You are in some form of real denial. Normally your posts make some sense but you must live in the Eden Prairie area and breathing the same air as Keith. The difference here is that plenty of vendors and I know many have strong complaints about lack of audience and generally unresponsive executive direction on decisions. No is a fine and the second best answer a vendor can expect. No answer is a lack of respect and may even be more than that. It could be just a poor sourcing strategy. How many open vendor days do they hold a year ? How many of the " hundreds of vendors " have to be unhappy to satisfy your threshold of a generally satisfied vendor base. Invicta , I am sure is happy. I am neither unknown or speculating. perhaps some conjecture as at some point that is axiomatic. How many vendors have refused to do business with them I wonder ? I would speculate here and say hundreds. It may be time to take some profits if you believe you will be delivered by this team in place now.Now that is conjecture but perhaps not wild speculation.

That is an amazing leap of logic marubozo.I think this was more about control over the investment rather than any long term interest in buying more shares. Management has not done the job in a convincing enough manner to generate any real enthusiasm for more share purchases. You have heard of the TWC play right ? I think that says a lot about what their interest is in investments currently. I believe they just want to control their destiny here until they are ready to sell off.

I agree. 4 Directors is a strong performance from CG's slate and in spite of Comcast voting for management. This is probably the only pro-active help Comcast has offered since they have been a shareholder. The question really will be if the new Directors will be able to guide the incumbent members towards a strategy that will lead the company forward in a pro-active development of a winning strategy that would include a management change. In terms of a potential buy out I believe it may be a bit early for that but could be. It appears Comcast is complacent and could entertain a new partner(s). It would be easier to fix the company in a private venue than struggling with the quarter to quarter grind. At this point change may be a key requirement to future success. The vendor community at large does not like doing business with this team. I can understand why as they are unfocused and make demands that prohibit quality lines to engage with them. There does seem to be some underlying issues with their mid manager group as well. Resentment. This is a difficult situation when the internal work force believes that the senior group is taking more than they are giving to the enterprise. Never good.

Thanks Jerry for putting the shorty uniform back on. You are already down 10% on this short. I always know I am on the right side of this trade when I see your short position BS. I added to my position long 2 days ago. Jerry I am sorry your dad coach would not let you pitch. No doubt the cause of this mess.

There is no cogently valid excuse for the wasted airtime that is burned up by Invicta Watches, The airtime could be cut by a minimum 50% without a dollar of sales risk to the Brand or the company. Market Research is correct about that for sure and I do know this business very well.

Alibaba may be the largest volume and profit generator in the history of retail. The growth curve has in fact slowed to the mid 30 range. On an outstanding revenue base. Acquisitions will insulate it a bit more than anyone has reported. A company of this size that will double their volume every three years for a time still sounds like a big winner to me.This is a buying opportunity for certain.
