    I am a paid basher..................Today is my last day at this company; I’m moving on to a new job.
    ///////////////////////////////////////

    So - - let me see if I understand this correctly - - - - let's say someone needed a job now - - - - there's a high paying opening at your old firm - - - - - would "someone" who applied be qualified for FREE Obamacare ??? ------------------------ It's not for me - - - - I'm asking for a "friend" who lost his job in an Ohio JCPenney Kiosk - - - - oh yeah - his wife needs a job two -

    Your leader is Retay 101 (64/M/ohio) You can learn alot from him.

    Hasn't jcpenneyman spoke of his contempt for JC Penney shoppers before?
    /////////////////////////////////////////
    I dunno - maybe there are people that don't take offense from being a "dreg" - "slovenly behemoth" or a "Buck tooth Bucky" - "Cows" - "Blue Hairs" - - - - - - - - I mean 85 is "Mr. Retail" - - - -
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    by jcpenneyman85 • Sep 22, 2013 10:43 PM...................... Ullman's way keeps the dregs coming in. Just like a bar during happy hour they slink in. Slovenly behemoths raid a $4.97 rack faster than a flock of cedar waxwings on a berry tree. I get a kick out of watching a smiling gap toothed Bucky plopping his armload of clearance shirts on the counter

    "Yodeling customers squishing and chafing through the aisles are normally cause for celebration for Johnny retailers. But you know what they say, you can lead a cow to JCPenney, but you can't make her buy anything but clearance and with a coupon of course"

    Why is SHLD up and JCP down?

    No Nightmare for Sears? Something's wrong here. Gotta figure it out!
    ///////////////////////////////////////

    Let me help you - - - - - it's really simple - - -- SHLD has CASH and ASSETS to pizz away holding on for years in one form or another - - - - - - JCP has little/no assets and (my guess) not enough cash without further dilution to last till the end of the year - - - --------------------- serious question - - - How much further dilution are you personally willing to accept to see JCPenney hang on for at best, a long shot turnaround years from now ?????

    I tried to post it three times but something kicked it off the MB - - - - the last part was particularly funny about how even the CEO of Overstock is so paranoid about fictitious "Bashers" - - - - I guess if you're down a bunch on a stock it makes it easier if you can invent a scapegoat(unicorn) to blame - - -

    I guess you would have been all over the Ford board,
    /////////////////////////////////

    Nope - - I stick with what I know - I know nothing about the auto industry - - - - - - - - - - - - - one of my "pet peeves" in modern day retailing is they try to be all things to all people - - - - Menard's Lumber sells food, etc - - - - - - - - my philosophy is - "If you can't make money doing what you know, how do you think you can make money doing something you know nothing about"

    if JCP were in such dire straights as the doom and gloom club would have us believe, why only a few thousand layoffs, and only 33 store closings
    ------------------------------------------------------------

    **While almost everyone agrees it(the closings)are a good thing - most of the thought is "Not enough" - - - - - instead of 33 it should have been 330 - - - - - - no immediate cost savings - but immediate additional cash burn for charges in 4th quarter
    ______________________________________

    One new one opening in Bkln.
    _________________________________

    **Money has already been allocated and it's a good place for a store whether you do the turnaround or do a reorganization
    ___________________________________________

    and the Company reaffirming 4th qtr. guidance?
    ____________________________________________

    **They did make that statement but after that Ullman seemed to waffle just a bit - - - - his first statement was very positive - the following - - - - well, you tell me if you feel as positive - - -
    --------------------
    """Mr. Ullman elaborated slightly. He said that “the holiday season was certainly an interesting one, with a compressed calendar, winter snowstorms and challenging mall traffic.”"""

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The company can come up with SOME additional cash over the next year by several different means - - - the question you have to ask yourself is - - -

    1. Are they buying time for a turnaround to take hold because all indications are "They just need time"

    2. Are they just pulling a SHLD and prolonging the inevitable by burning their assets with no real plan in place for a turnaround or a plan that just isn't working -

    The two things they need for a successful reorganization is TIME and MONEY -- -- Circuit CITY was not wise and ran out of both - - - - - - - - if they run totally out of money then "liquidation" is the ONLY answer - - - - GS is not going to let that happen - - - IMHO

    Don't know about the WSJ but I "copy" n "paste" the headline of the story into Google search engine - - (Former JC Penny tech chief is returning to PepsiCo ) and then link to the story URL that way - - - works for a bunch of the pay sites - - - Financial Times is one I use frequently - - - -

    For those legal beagles out there, don't hang me for an over simplified lesson on copyrights - - but, generally you may make a copy of something for yourself, and that's ok - - - - - what's not ok is making a hundred copies and selling them - - - reprinting an article without express permission of the author is a no no - - - even when you credit the source - - - you might copy a few lines of a story but the whole story would be a different matter -

    Someone with more time than I can research it - - - - but I think I remember reading "search engines" and "Url's) are exempt from copyright - - -

    When in reality, they are just trying to save money by cutting their wages.
    ///////////////////////////////////////////

    True - - - in looking back over what has ACTUALLY happened over the last 12 months(not what the "what if" dreamers wish) - - - if you were setting out to destroy a company - - - - - how much more could you do that they haven't done - - -?

    MsKelly would have a difficult time if she wasn't able to copy/paste. Has anyone noticed how many ID's she is using nowadays?
    /////////////////////////////////////////////

    And probably nobody will say or do anything UNTIL someone thinks she has used their work in some manner they don't like - - - - all of a sudden, her many id's become linked to one IP and the ISP gets a nasty note about copyright infringement and their liability - - - - - - doesn't happen often but I can assure you it does happen - - - used to be more frequent than it is now - - -

    First hand knowledge - - - any such plan would have to be piecemeal - - - in one instance JCPenney tried to lease space for an area that carried furniture - - - - New York mall owner was contacted and put the kibosh on the plan within 24 hours - - - mall already had a tenant that sold furniture and their lease SPECIFICALLY stated NO ONE but they could sell furniture in that mall - - - - - it sounds like a wonderful solution at 2 in the morning when everyone is dead drunk, but when dawn breaks - - "The emperor has no clothes" - - - now multiply that problem times 600 for the number of leased stores - - - - well, ALMOST everyone gets the picture - - - - - WMT is famous for tying their properties up even after they vacate them, that no/little competition can purchase or occupy the old property - - -
