The question is - what is their content library worth? I agree in/re the franchise but IF they do launch another successful franchise we could see another significant run up over the next 2 years. In the meantime their FCF supports their dividend and right now that's my only consolation for still holding the stock after the last run to 41.
It would be great to have some positive news on the next ER. Be nice if they slowed their cash burn and revs start increasing in a significant way. Even be better if the directors buy some shares before ER.
Health benefits appear to be tremendous. They said early 2016.
Esher is correct P&A costs are taken care of by the distributor. There is no social buzz in/re this movie so we've got another bomb on our hands. Who knows maybe NFLX will get tired of trying to produce their own content and just buy LGF.
Press releases said early 2016 but have not seen it anywhere yet. There should be some pent up demand here for chefs looking to cut back on saturated fats.
The whole media sector was repriced. IF you were going to put on strong sell on it you should've done it at 41. You might be a little late to the party at this point. I will sit back and collect dividends and watch the next chapter play out. GL
Bananas - would like to see it get back to 41 but unless we get a significant catalyst (launch of a successful franchise, fantastic ER, or a buyout) we will most like be treading water collecting a dividend for 2 years.
Looks like they're timing them around movie releases. Lockout on buyback after ER ended today. If they have another washout like they did on Friday the buyback won't do a thing.
Fred - Sentiment is negative for a reason. There is glut of oversupply around the world. Many of the marginal players are going out of business due to being over leveraged. The off shore drillers are at a disadvantage because their production costs are substantially higher than on shore. Without a substantial geopolitical situation which slows production in the Middle East the western producers on and off shore will be hurting for the foreseeable future.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the rights they purchased for the Magic Tree Hiuse series.
I think they will do alright with Allegiant, Now You See Me 2, Deepwater Horizon, The Shack, and even possibly Boo - A Madea Halloween.
6 million for the weekend but the P&A for God's of Egypt will wipe everything they are making on Dirty Grandpa and The Chouce out. They have some potential tent poles over the next year, but I I don't think Gid's of Egypt is going to do well. I am back to 2009 sitting on my position waiting for something positive.
South - we've had 3 qtrly misses, but I too believe the sun will rise tomorrow. I stuck with LGF because of all the media companies they bought a new franchise (HGF) into being. Who knows over the next year maybe one of their tent pole films becomes a hit. CC was terrible but maybe now they can get some of their costs under control. Have a Great Weekend!
Continue to enjoy the correspondence with yourself - don't let me interrupt.
Good to have you back - unfortunately I never left - rode it to 41 and still sitting on my position.
