Xclffeer - was not attacking you, if that was assumed. I was going after the moron who thinks Xerox, under Ursula, is outperforming IBM. We can hit $12 by Friday of course, but who knows who that idiot is. Xerox has gone nowhere for years. Apologies if taken otherwise.
Not for those reasons, IBM is slow. Always has been, it is not a nimble, fast firm and that has never changed. Ginni may WANT to go into the cloud, but the firm moves at a glacial pace. Missed the boat.
Note that Gerstner was an outsider to IBM and that Sam the Man and Gin the Gal are true Blue BEAMERS from the firm, so they cannot THINK the right way. They speak IBMese, use long phrases and want the 50s out (aka systems talk for age) and want to go the right way like the foils, eh, powerpoint charts tell them but cannot do so. Oh, India is cheap on salary and bennies so that is good for shareholder value, but still they are both INSIDE THE BLUE BOX people. They have and ARE wrecking the firm
Why not in America? We have thousands of IT Professionals looking for work. We know, many have been fired by IBM for being American workers.
Ah but the SHILLS will all chime in, commenting that IT SAYS THERE IS A TURN-AROUND, so THINGS WILL BE BETTER. Never mind those accounting problems and never mind wrecked contracts and never mind that NO NEW CONTRACTS have been announced for a long time, CSC has plenty of gasoline left.
And it just started? Oh, update your clock from 2008 to the present, the cloud is well underway these days and IBM is late to the party. Secondly, never under-estimate IBM's uncanny ability to #$%$ defeat from the jaws of victory. IBM owned the networking environment over 20 years ago and declared that Token Ring was the defacto standard over that upstart ETHERNET. Held OS/2 superior over that upstart Windows. Could have purchased a huge chunk of MSFT stock too.
They will blow whatever chance they had or think they now have. Armonk moves slowly.
Never going to happen. This damn rumor comes up every year or so and somebody floats it for no good reason. Nobody would EVER want to own this dog, least of all IBM which is 50,000 people soft after their latest head-count reduction scam so adding staff is not on their table. Well maybe Bangalore but that is nothing really. No new contracts, public or private. Tons of bad events. NEVER going to happen.
It may have made the 100 Best Companies to Invest in. And I thought Aon won all those gender sensitive awards and equality billings too. Hmmm, must be taking a page from IBM too where Ginni is shareholder only too, but driving revenues down at a faster rate than old Case ever could conceive off.
Huh??? You have said that Xerox is beating IBM and Microsoft, so I guess their management is pretty good in your view, and now you write that fired CEOS rule the Xerox board and MCD is doing better or great. STAY CONSISTENT IN YOUR STUPID POSTS.
I agree, what planet are you living on to think that Xerox is out performing IBM. True, Ginni is hell bent on destroying the firm and 11 quarters of revenue loss is impressive, still a bad measure for Xerox anyway. Read employee reviews by the way and only 27% approve of Ursula Mad Dog Burns.
Springtime for Ginni and IBM
Armonk is happy and gay
We're moving to a faster pace
Lookout, here comes the cloud based master race
This was from a glassdoor review, and I assure you that Java is important to client work and presentations. If you do not have it, you cannot work and yet those precious PROCEDURES put into place ensure that employees cannot DO THEIR JOBS.
Read this and weep....
Absolutely horrible bureaucracy, especially with respect to IT. For example, I needed to update Java to access a prospects data room. At home, the process took less than 2 minutes. At work, after six weeks of trying, multiple layers of approvals and calls to India, I gave up. Contrary to "Client Promise", Aon will also sometimes put its internal bureaucracy ahead of a client's reasonable wishes."
Calls to India? Guess old CSC is still in the game too.
why do you bother? It is above $12. You are a total moron. You were a joke once. Now, a fool.
Now be careful here, you are using a classic, great song to comment on IBM. People get mad at that and, worse, the Eagles can sue you for rights!!!!!!!!! LOL.
OMG what an astonishing technical observation you have made. NO S??T SHERLOCK. Wow, I am impressed with the ability to add a useless fact to this discussion. Maybe that is why IBM no longer supports the 360 mainframe.
50,000 so far, Cringely is off a bit but still 12% of workforce, some of it through sales of hardware divisions, IBM is now below 380,000 worldwide workforce. More is coming though. Ginni still has her vision of declining revenues to fullfill. What a sucess story.
