HP is cutting 55,000 OVERPAID AMERICAN WORKERS ..... ah, a tactic favored at BIG BLUE for Roadmap 2015. Fire American workers and hire cheap Indian workers. Better for shareholder value. And, eh, NO YIELD I AM NOT GOING AWAY.
And if they are going after the major success story that is Sears??????????????
History - one of the first issues Gerstner had to deal with after the wreckage of Akers was to split or not to split, and he decided IBM was better intact and strong. Of late IBM has been selling assets, not splitting into their own companies. Of what the future holds is anybody's guess.
And so under Democrat leadership the very very Rich should have done poorly, right? And the Middle Class should be doing better, right???
Right. But at IBM today, customers are not happy, employees are not happy so you have to all kinds of tricks to keep shareholders happy.
Yeah yeah - another round of egotistical industry do-nothings back slapping each other with praise and a few drinks at some worthless event. Means nothing in the real world.
I miss it very much, as an IBMer of sorts from a BP back in 1990-92, worked with AS/400, the sales people I worked with in Poughkeepsie were THE BEST ever. But that was then and this is now, and I wish the best for the firm even though the current management seems driven by Roadmap 2015. I know talking old school dates me of course, but I bemoan the current protocols of this firm. It cannot be what it was, nothing ever can - but it should be better than it currently IS!!!!
At least you did not call me a moron or pinhead, but I will correct. She should be able to meet her Roadmap 2015 target with greater ease.
I posted a congratulatory reply but it never took. GOOD POST - on target and on BUSINESS for once, not a rant or personal insult nor pennystocks BS. And spot on. Lawrie wants out from under.
So Lenovo got the server biz. Go Ginny, you can hit your Roadmap number alot easier now. Lenovo is promising to retain all IBMers of course ... and then examine the lot for future efficiencies. We know what that means. More firings here, more hires in India. And Yield should see the shareholder value increase which will make him or her very happy indeed.
Because they are not selling????
Perhaps the finest walk-out I know of was precisely that. A very senior individual I knew simply had enough of the McKinsey games several years ago, and came in - cleaned his desk - and said goodbye to his astonished secretary and some staff and then just left the building. That easy. Brilliant.
Now this will be interesting, and seems valid as of now. Article attached so CSC is changing folks and god knows into what.
BTW - Pennystocks is a scam outfit.
