Verizon has cut three states out of the pie and took a helluva hit with Vodaphone. As a result, staff has been cut and the remaining carbon units are working 12 hour days to make up for the lost talent. Way to go VZ.
Brilliant how IBM, with over 300,000 employees won the fight against Microsoft, right? And look at the dominance of OS/2 WARP over that long forgotten Windows? And look how those PC systems are just flying off the shelf, right? And look at the Texas Data Center? All the revenue from AstraZeneca and Hilton. Wow, brilliant moves IBM.
Define Pig. Your post is nuts. This PIG has been constantly going up and up and management is hell bent on keeping shareholders HAPPY, albeit at the expense of everything else. I remember when it was $19. That was in 2003 and as a WTCenter survivor from Consulting, I DO WISH we had been given the chance to buy the stock, then, at a discounted price. This wonderful option was made to RISK SERVICES ONLY and those poor people in Consulting, well, we were ignored. So the price today, ah that would be a valuable purchase indeed. HEY, THANKS CHICAGO and now LONDON for remembering us.
AstraZeneca - gone. Hilton Hotels - gone. Texas data center - gone. Entire nation of Australia - gone. ServiceMaster - gone. Way to increase revenue eh what?
Yes, you have to be the nut job on the Xerox board claiming to have GREAT NEWS COMING SOON too.
Next up in Ginni's gutting of the IBM carcas should be the sale of IBM systems. Maybe she can sell everthing IBM domestic and that way have zero salary and associated employee benefit costs, THEN INDIA will shine like the low cost diamond they want it to be. Clients won't like that of course, but hell, shareholder value is the only thing that counts, right???
You do not know your history. I said Watsons. You know, the dead ones. Oh, human being type, not massive computer. Thomas J. Watson Sr and Jr. And Jobs, gee, he was a human too. IBM tried to buy Apple once under LG. Died in negotiations. Keep smoking pal, ur going to need it.
Every three months or so somebody posts the notion that CSC will be bought and this happened for the past few years. Not going to happen, least of all with IBM which is engaged in dumping staff and other entitites right now. Wants nothing to do with buying a firm whose commercial side is toast and government side is difficult. Besides, $98 is a pipe dream.
Spot on. The PR statement released before the call seemed to indicate that everything was coming up roses, but the reality is that there is NO SALES PIPELINE, and the commercial side is dead. CSC is ripe to be sold and all Lawrie is doing is waiting to sell and bury the thing.
You have to admit that the Magical Marvelous Case and Crista Road Show is well managed and presented, far better than other acts put on by other firms. But at least we are not hearing any more "workforce reductions" from Crista as a revenue enhancement measure. Everything is positive and going great.
Oh that would be a stunner indeed. Jobs and the Watsons would faint at the prospect of Apple taking out Big Blue.
Oh, love the use of "quotes" there. As if they are such a thing. LOL.
Not only Ginny got the big bucks....
CFO Martin Schroeter will receive a 2014 bonus worth nearly $740,000.
Steven Mills, head of software and systems, will get $703,500.
Senior vice president John Kelly will receive nearly $800,000 and
General counsel Robert Weber, now employed as a senior adviser, will pocket $737,000.
And all IBM workers in the Duboque, Iowa facility are fired because of this and I am sure that Kaiser will greatly come to appreciate the higher quality of service Bangalore provides. Sure they will.
