A good friend of mine has a new VP over him and all work from home is now banished. Wants IN OFFICE WORK ALL OF THE TIME which means a 2 hour commute for my friend. Ain 't that just so caring about the employee!!! Everything now is CUT COST, CUT, CUT, CUT COST. Verizon is hell, and they were supposed to build a borderless workspace for my old employer, AON, some time back - never heard anything more about that, ever.

WHEN IBM makes an entry into Cloud??? Many other companies are IN THE CLOUD right now, and IBM is, as always, LATE TO THE GAME. TopGun always posts the shill line that IBM is doing great, just wait, it will DO GREAT, just wait for WATSON to start popping the numbers up. JUST WAIT...................................
REALLY??? This is new? Medical data has been in the cloud for years, now the call it Watson Cloud. How freaking un-original. Everything at Armonk is WATSON THIS OR THAT. Betcha the old boys are turning over in their graves considering this mess. ONCE AGAIN IBM is late to the show, they cannot execute FAST because they are fat with management staff. Ginni tries, but will fail. Elephants may dance, but slowly.
Most wireless offices and schools are very successful, no issue there. It is those wonderful CSC Protocols and policies that screw everything up.
I wonder how the Verizon project went, the borderless office environment. I could see everybody walking around with little tablet computers to commune areas, no desks and everything paperless. And GOD FORBID they bear the expense of COFFEE.
WAIT - THEY ARE ALSO A COMPUTER SERVICES COMPANY? HAHAHAHAHA. Hardly, ACS is hated by support professionals and clients. Does Ursula still have a 27% approval rating??? And maybe the stock can finally ROAR DOWN to $12 by Friday???
I see a lot of projects too, just not at IBM. They are late to the cloud, late to big data even though they really should own that one by virtue of mainframe storage. They cannot execute quickly. They are not nimble and slim and FAST. So, go spout more positive tripe and we shall see who is right.
I moved to Georgia last year and have been contracting for a living. Job search always brings up that CSC needs DESKTOP support professionals for Center for Desease Control. Ok, that is frightening enough. This morning, the lovely lady at the gas station indicated her ex is trying to get tossed OUT at the CDC, wants to be fired. Another example of just how well this slime outfit treats it's employees. They WANT to be fired. And at the CDC, so this is one reason why I NEVER WANT TO WORK AT CSC EVER AGAIN.
Hey, jobs report was super lousy, so if you are breaking out the champagne as you like to do, better be to hope lotsa IT people are looking for jobs with ACS which is not likely given that nobody likes them anyway.
And Ginny is cutting staff in the Software division that writes code for Cloud based apps, so .....
Well, one contract win. WhooooHoooooo. And I guess Next Gen means that terrfific OS Windows XP deployed first and then upgraded (more consulting $$$) and I hear wireless is an up and coming thing too. CSC will be incapable of accomplishing this task. Another disaster.
