Gee, you show up random just to make a snarky comment. Most of the CSC posters have been here for a while, and generally correct, a few shills, but DGALBERS is spot on and quite right. See you in six months when you post here again.
IBM is never a serious contender over time except in it's own ARMONK BASED MINDSET where it has great plans. I remember OFFICEVISION and MAPICS/DB on the old AS/400 platform, which is since sold to Mexico if memory serves. The computer world is FAST and moving FASTER than old Blue can perform these days, so many executive protocols and procedures. At least they are beyond using FOILS and projectors.
Better consider moving on soon, new owners just love to can people. As I learned the hard way many years ago and more recently in Atlanta.
In general, now we know why Lawrie was selling stock as fast as he could. Gee, though, going UP so maybe that was a bad move. Think he just wants OUT FROM UNDER.
IBM will be ugly when TOPGUNINVE or whatever turns against them, he sees nothing but a bright and gun-ho future for BIG BLUE, totally irrational. Garce seems to be sane to me, and opinions can change. I would love to IBM have a bright future but given Ginny;s tenure and her protocol of firing people that actually KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING and hiring LOW COST INDIANS who answer phones, I do not see growth at all. IBM may not die per se, but it will never be a powerhouse again.
And just how do you know that? I believe IBM is wounded, severely and may not actually die but it will never be the powerhouse it once was. Sam and Ginny have seen to that and the thousands of qualified, talented, trained professionals who have been FIRED are proof of that. You can cut fat but not bone.
Apparently he dipped his greedy fingers, he only got $25 million, into the candy jar for more chocolate, so CSC sues him -- nothing like being sued by people who claim you stole money from them is there? Hmm, just the way CSC overbills it's own clients without regard to anything. Lotsa of unethical things here so perhaps this is just rewards for old CSC. GEE, somebody tried to screw therm and they do not like it.
Eh, not good really. But not a surprise for anyone who studies this #$%$. I worked at their NJ locations for a few months years ago and still hate them. Some individuals were great, but the whole was a career cancer.
I moved to Georgia last year and have been in job hunt mode between contract jobs and whenever I see something posted by EITHER CSC or, worse, IBM - I avoid it. No life is worth working for these #$%$ outfits and as a former IBMer and CSC er, I know the truth about working with them.
Interestig, old IBM - and it is old now - is concentrating on Cloud and Big Data too, so they are desperate to go with current trends that smaller, more nimble companies are already jumping on. Cyber security is VERY important given recent breaches, but ... wow, took 'em this long to figure this out??? Can dense be a more appropriate word??? CSC is slowly moving, too slow to survive.
WOW, maybe that is good news our wayward savant is looking for to DRIVE IT $12 BY FRIDAY.
More good news?? Don't see it, have not seen it for months, maybe a year. DUMP URSULA would be good.
"I'll say this for him, he's consistent." Admiral James T. Kirk, WRATH OF KHAN.
Karl Marx had it all wrong, do not quote him as the guiding light of argument. What modern management does do wrong is to focus ONLY ON SHAREHOLDER VALUE to the exclusion of all else. I prefer W. EDWARDS DEMING as my model, who said that a deadly disease is to have companies focus on that alone. IF you focus on the business, providing quality service and product, all the rest will follow along as it should. Never a guarantee of course, but if your product is good, and your focus is on client satisfacation, then employees are rewarded and stock price goes up WITHOUT DECIMATING EVERYTHING ELSE along the way. Obviously, Triumph, you want a 5 year plan in place. Try Moscow, you'll find free enterprise thriving over there. LOL.
