You have to admit that the Magical Marvelous Case and Crista Road Show is well managed and presented, far better than other acts put on by other firms. But at least we are not hearing any more "workforce reductions" from Crista as a revenue enhancement measure. Everything is positive and going great.
Oh that would be a stunner indeed. Jobs and the Watsons would faint at the prospect of Apple taking out Big Blue.
Oh, love the use of "quotes" there. As if they are such a thing. LOL.
Not only Ginny got the big bucks....
CFO Martin Schroeter will receive a 2014 bonus worth nearly $740,000.
Steven Mills, head of software and systems, will get $703,500.
Senior vice president John Kelly will receive nearly $800,000 and
General counsel Robert Weber, now employed as a senior adviser, will pocket $737,000.
And all IBM workers in the Duboque, Iowa facility are fired because of this and I am sure that Kaiser will greatly come to appreciate the higher quality of service Bangalore provides. Sure they will.
OH, THIS IS A BOARD FOR PFIZER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From a local Rockland county friend, the entire Pearl River plant will be sold to the highest bidder. Betcha that comes in from East Ramapo.
Strange idea but if IBM did shut down everything and concentrate on the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY (see, I do know my stuff) and, perhaps, provide capacity for Disaster Recovery situations - a ton of storage space available - it would be slim and quite nimble. Well, pigs and wings don't mix, do they.
Oh my but you have rosy view of the future. IBM will miss it, as it usually does. (Had a chance for ethernet but went with token ring. Had a chance with Windows but went with OS/2. Even had a chance to buy a fat chunk of Microsoft and passed on that one. Had a chance with the original PC but blew that in favor of PS/2. SNA? OfficeVision??? As/400 was moved offshore recently. So, what the hell as IBM ever done right?
Possible, not probable and a way off. Best Buy is stronger than Radio Shack ever was, but the Circuit City - Computer City effect is still there.
Ok, now we have a show. It will be time to see if IBM can carry a cloud project to success or if it can fail they way it did some miserably with other accounts.
And it guarantees alot of paid workers in Cairo. Of course, the thousands being fired over here can move to Egypt very quickly and, of course, that is an enormously STABLE CORNER of the world right now, right?
Now that is interesting, could happen. A seismic event of the first order for the established monarchy in Armonk of course, could sink Ginny. (BTW - both Ginny and John Akers were on the BoD of defunct Lehman Brothers).
