Either something is in the works that cannot be announced or there is some knowledge of a major contract, but has leaked and not reached the general public yet...and someone has jumped in to buy up what they can regardless of price.....this has the signs of impacting revenue or sales ...not so much the usual product development progress......or there is someone or entity that is just buying as much as they can.
No complaints from me...we knew this would happen.....I'm sure there will be a bounce back but hopefully find support above 5. This is a nice chart, also.
Good point Mo.....I totally forgot about the exchange rate.....1.11 dollars to 1 Euro.... That could have a really good out come.
1. How long has CEMI been waiting for a CE Europe for the DPP(R) HIV 1/2?
2.How many immigrants come into Europe every week now that are from Africa, primarily Sub - Sahara Africa?
3. What is the testing process to make sure these immigrants do not have HIV, Malaria, TB, and other diseases?
4. When do they test the immigrants coming in on the boats?
5. Where (what countries/cities) are they coming into?
6. What percentage of immigrants coming in in 2015 have HIV?
This is just as dangerous as the Ebola outbreak was in Africa. Only its coming to Europe on boats by the thousands.
I don't know Mo. I think this might be bigger than anyone is thinking it is. In the US there are 1.2 million HIV cases with 7% not knowing they have it. In Eastern Europe and Central Asia 1.1 million, and Western Europe 2.3 million. So number 1), they haven't even counted Eastern Europe.... People travel pretty freely between Eastern and Western Europe these days. 2) Orasure with their fluky marketing has been able to nitch out a good revenue stream in the US, which has half of the cases that Europe has. 3) Europe is getting bombarded with imigrants from Sub-Saharan areas......that area has 25 million cases of HIV. I would think that Greece and Italy are about at their wits end knowing that more than likely, a high percentage of the imigrants are HIV positive. I know that is reaching a bit. But it has to be a concern. 4) With the CE mark, they can now sell where they haven't been selling.....and this is not selling to those with HIV.....it is selling to those that think they might have HIV because of frivolous one nighters or sharing needles once too often. Europe is very liberal....more so than the USA. I think the market will be into this product, i.e. Spain, Greece and Italy will be buying this product to get the most accurate and quickest HIV determination that they can....before they get off the boats, so to speak
From the CEMI news release.
The Chembio DPP(R) HIV 1/2 Assay for rapid, POC detection of HIV is now cleared for commercialization and sale within the 28 member states of the European Union.
According to multiple international health and surveillance agencies, an estimated 2.3 million people are living with HIV in the member states of the European Union with at least one in three infected people being unaware of their status
Sentiment: Strong Buy
