    Earnings possibly to be announced

    by river98tx Mar 26, 2014 11:52 AM

I've been unable to confirm what Wall Street Horizon stated about a 3/31/14 earnings release date. Nothing on Morningstar, Bloomberg, Nasdaq, CNBC, and others. A few sources rely on Zacks, so if that is the prevailing source of many, then it makes sense none would offer other info.

Earningswhispers shows release date 3/31/14 after market close, but it states "not confirmed", and doesn't give their source. If Earningswhispers uses Wall Street Horizon, then they are simply repeating the same source I originally read.

Based on the low volume Friday and parts of last week, I'd say the market is dismissing the idea of a Monday announcement. I'm assuming that an earnings release would be accompanied by a litigation update, and therefore would be preceded by increasing volume.

  • While the market has already brought the biotechs down as a a group, and while these shares are below recent SO of 11.50

  • This is new on my brokerage account, Re: RVP earnings:

"Fourth Quarter Earnings Announcement Expected: Earnings will tentatively be announced Monday. Expected Timing: After close. The data was gathered by Wall Street Horizon callers, but it is still considered tentative."

Found that today for the first time. The Monday indicated is March 31, 2014. As of two days ago, the posted msg read that there was no announced schedule for release of earnings. Anyone else see this?

    Volume Spike

I only know what I've read on the major news feeds, broker's standard info, the SEC site, and this board. Thanks to cpatrader2001, tesiman, zoomlik, kerrybrett and others for sharing.

As for my opinions, I think the S-8 and the Fri pm volume in the same week means a shorter timetable. I happened to be watching RVP trading at the close Fri. Maybe someone taking a page from Putin's playbook?... Putin has been waiting until Fridays and wknds to make his big moves, which has caused a lot less disruption to markets. Perhaps as some here suggested a mm is following that playbook, waiting until the last three minutes on a Fri. to move the volume. If so, they're not done buying. All imo.

On the downside, there was a seller of those shares. Someone was motivated to sell ten times the normal volume at only a .03 or .08 gain. The chart shows volume spikes in the past few months, all of which subside after days. And it sounds like many on this board have seen false signs before.

Today 245K vs recent avg volumes 24K - 30K. Looks like more than 160K of 245K came in the last 5 minutes.

I've been adding this week, but I wonder if these prices will be around much longer. Looks like someone who knows more than me waited until the last few minutes of a Friday to do some buying.

Averaging up from 7.64 pps purchase on 11/19/13. Secondary offerings are not always a bad thing for long term shareholders or those looking to initiate a position. I'm optimistic about mgmt's ability to use this offering for marketing expenses, so they can self-finance trials going forward.

Fwiw I notice a few of the same people who were negative on OMER on this board in November in the mid 7's are still here and still negative.

  • river98tx by river98tx Mar 17, 2014 9:46 PM Flag

This morning. After pps fell from 50 to low 30's, there is the potential for a near term bottom here. The high (2x avg) volume drop on 3/13 to 28 might be a near term floor. But if not, I'm satisfied with the reduced risk at this level... unless someone can point me to another small cap metal 3D printing company. glta.

    SNTA

I've been where you are, exhausted. No longer. My advice is sell some amount, 5% or 15%, and if the "worst" happens and it rebounds in a few days time, then you'll still have the majority of the gain. If it goes down more, you could buy those shares back lower... or diversify into other investments.

Own your investments, don't let them own you.

Disclosure: Sold SNTA in Jan at 6.33, redeployed long OMED. I'm here because I keep former investments on a watchlist as possible future long investments, and today's drop got my attention.

... this AM. A manual screen found this Micro cap health care stock with proprietary product and low debt. Legal settlement possibly sooner than later, and the chart looks ok at this point. Thanks to the posters here for the extra information.

Nice to see a civil board. Good luck.

    The End is Near

Significant enough that I noticed the price/volume action in RVP on Friday. This popped up on my manual screen over the wknd, and it definitely has my interest. Even with Zoomlik's interest netted out, it's compelling. But why net Zoomlik out, he or she sounds sharp.

  • Strong volume up days while breaking 50 dma, now approaching 52 wk high. I wanted to keep adding in the low 6s, but with the 52 wk high of 6.79 around the corner, I may not get that chance.

Canacol is pushing hard for growth. If you're looking for a small growing energy play with the risk that brings, consider CNNEF. Good luck.

A rev and earnings beat, plus positive outlook will be great for short term PPS. Long term, BioTelemetry has the potential to be the secular health-care growth story buy and hold investors look for. At 9.85 closing price, mkt cap is about 253 mil.

According to the balance sheet, it looks like they grew cash, shrank AR, and increased RND spending. Positive and forward-looking imo.

OT I'm enjoying the calm on the board today. Long since May 2013.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, and congrats on the payoff. I added some OMED today at 30, averaging up.

You said you added 11,000 shares of IDRA today, what prompted you to buy?

Thanks... I am requesting an invite from you by responding here. I am considering adding a long position in Idera.

Down on low volume, on a day when the overall mkt is down.

  • river98tx by river98tx Jan 22, 2014 3:35 PM Flag

At .26 and .285. Looks like a lot of potential here off a very small base of market cap less than 50M. I'd welcome a market-wide pullback this afternoon or tomorrow morning to take this thing down a nickel, for the chance to average down... but I dream. Congrats to the long term longs.
