"By refusing to name the enemy, Obama makes helpless the Islamic Imams who would theologically challenge all the crimes against humanity."
This is my LAST attempt to communicate with you as a gentleman. You make a false statement and I will provide proof as to why it is false. If you are willing to admit your error based on the evidence I provided we can continue the discussion otherwise I'm done with you and all of the other bigots who post their lies here. Below are quotes by Obama from The Summit on Countering Violent Extremism back in February 2015.

"And I say all this because we face genuine challenges to our security today, just as we have throughout our history. Challenges to our security are not new. They didn’t happen yesterday or a week ago or a year ago. We've always faced challenges. One of those challenges is the terrorist threat from groups like al Qaeda and ISIL. But this isn't our challenge alone. It's a challenge for the world. ISIL is terrorizing the people of Syria and Iraq, beheads and burns human beings in unfathomable acts of cruelty. We’ve seen deadly attacks in Ottawa and Sydney and, Paris, and now Copenhagen."

"So, in the face of this challenge, we have marshalled the full force of the United States government, and we’re working with allies and partners to dismantle terrorist organizations and protect the American people. Given the complexities of the challenge and the nature of the enemy -- which is not a traditional army -- this work takes time, and will require vigilance and resilience and perspective. But I'm confident that, just as we have for more than two centuries, we will ultimately prevail."

"And part of what gives me that confidence is the overwhelming response of the world community to the savagery of these terrorists -- not just revulsion, but a concrete commitment to work together to vanquish these organizations."

  • You keep saying Obama lied and I pointed out you in fact are the one lying not Obama. You took what he said out of context. When you read the entire paragraph or better yet listen to the entire speech you will see it had nothing to do with religion. You state Obama refuses to call " Islamic terrorism Islamic terrorism" when in fact he calls Al Qaeda and ISIL TERRORIST groups several times during his speech. You and the other PARANOID wackos need to take a chill pill. Maybe you would be better off living in Bastrop, Texas with those other wackos. Stop trying to force your religion into everyone else's life because we don't want your hate and phony beliefs. Your religion is no better than any other religion. Just get over it and respect other peoples beliefs because that is what true religion is all about. Christians like you have to be the most hateful bigots on the planet. Stop using religion to cover up your prejudices, in other words man up for once in your life.

Did you fail reading comprehension in school or are you just an out right LIAR?
The remarks below are from The Summit on Countering Violent Extremism in February of this year. The same speech that you took your headline quote from. He also uses the word TERRORIST many times in his speech and never spoke about religion when he made the comment about Muslims being part of the fabric of our country since it's founding. He only pointed out that people of ALL races and religions have played a role not just ANGRY WHITE CHRISTIANS. Get a life you miserable, hateful BIGOT!

"Al Qaeda and ISIL and groups like it are desperate for legitimacy. They try to portray themselves as religious leaders -- holy warriors in defense of Islam. That’s why ISIL presumes to declare itself the “Islamic State.” And they propagate the notion that America -- and the West, generally -- is at war with Islam. That’s how they recruit. That’s how they try to radicalize young people. We must never accept the premise that they put forward, because it is a lie. Nor should we grant these terrorists the religious legitimacy that they seek. They are not religious leaders -- they’re terrorists. (Applause.) And we are not at war with Islam. We are at war with people who have perverted Islam." (Applause.)

Why are some of the most hateful, prejudice individuals in this country Christians. Isn't that a bit hypocritical in the sense that Christians are supposed to be loving and caring people. Why do you intentionally take one sentence from the Presidents 34 minute speech out of context without providing his point in the over all discussion. In your case good Christian is an oxymoron and you are just plain MORON!

And finally, we need to do what extremists and terrorists hope we will not do, and that is stay true to the values that define us as free and diverse societies. If extremists are peddling the notion that Western countries are hostile to Muslims, then we need to show that we welcome people of all faiths.

Here in America, Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding. (Applause.) Generations of Muslim immigrants came here and went to work as farmers and merchants and factory workers, helped to lay railroads and build up America. The first Islamic center in New York City was founded in the 1890s. America’s first mosque -- this was an interesting fact -- was in North Dakota. (Laughter.)

Muslim Americans protect our communities as police officers and firefighters and first responders, and protect our nation by serving in uniform, and in our intelligence communities, and in homeland security. And in cemeteries across our country, including at Arlington, Muslim American heroes rest in peace having given their lives in defense of all of us. (Applause.)

And of course that’s the story extremists and terrorists don’t want the world to know -- Muslims succeeding and thriving in America. Because when that truth is known, it exposes their propaganda as the lie that it is. It’s also a story that every American must never forget, because it reminds us all that hatred and bigotry and prejudice have no place in our country. It’s not just counterproductive; it doesn’t just aid terrorists; it’s wrong. It’s contrary to who we are.

Nice to see the old man norris taking up for his young whipper snapper. It'a amazing how often those "dishonest academics" manipulate that data to make your guys look bad. If you can't beat em manipulate em!

  • rjmcbear rjmcbear Jul 2, 2015 3:55 PM Flag

Are you naked again norris? You bring up the decline in " American family incomes". History already has proven the decline of middle class incomes started during the 30 years of “trickle down” economic policy and the loss of workers economic power to get higher wages. If you do the math this points to the Reagan Years as the beginning of the lost middle class. To blame this on Obama is asinine especially considering as recently as 2008 our economy was LOSING over 800 THOUSAND jobs each month. If you want to place blame on the sluggishness of recovery the last 5 years all you have to do is look at what your WORTHLESS congress has accomplished in that time frame. They did try to unsuccessfully repeal the ACA FIFTY something times and counting though. I'm sure you wackos will keep voting them in. I bet your "illegal Immigrants" are better informed!

Trump opened his arrogant mouth and announced he was a racist all by himself. You say he never was a serious candidate but he's currently in 2nd place in the most recent polls. "He , Trump told Lemon he is surprised only that he's trailing Jeb Bush, not that he's doing so well.
"I don't get it. He's in favor of Common Core, extremely weak on immigration. He thinks people come over for love. I don't understand why he's in first place," Trump said. "Maybe it's the Bush name. Last thing we need is another Bush. But I will tell you, I'm a little surprised he's in the position he's in."
You never provided the factual information implementing DeBlasio as "a declared communist". I'm still waiting!

Never mentioned Foxy tabloid but thanks for pointing it out. What you care to provide the factual information to back up your buddy's quote, "NYC elected a declared communist as its mayor."
We all know for a fact that "The Donald" is a racist because he just told us so.

  • rjmcbear rjmcbear Jul 2, 2015 11:05 AM Flag

Did you get that nonsense off of the "good republican" website? Thank goodness the majority of Americans have a brain. Maybe we should trade Mexico all of you wackos for some hard working, appreciative Mexicans. Will you follow "The Donald" to your new country?

    Satan is busy today!
Macy's is pulling Donald Trump brand merchandise from its stores after the Republican presidential candidate's recent controversial remarks created a public uproar.

The department store has come under intense pressure to cut ties with the real estate magnate and businessman after he referred to immigrants from Mexico and other countries "killers and rapists."

In a statement Wednesday morning, Macy's said the company "stands for diversity" and that it had no tolerance for discrimination.

"We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation," Macy's said. "In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy's values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy's since 2004."

    Speaking of Hillary!

    New General election poll:
Looking ahead to the general election, Clinton continues to hold significant leads over Bush (54% Clinton to 41% Bush) and Christie (56% Clinton to 37% Christie). She has also opened up wide leads over Rubio (56% Clinton to 39% Rubio) and Walker (57% Clinton to 38% Walker), as those two have slipped among independents. Clinton's clearest advantage, however, is over Donald Trump, 59% say they would vote for Clinton if the 2016 match-up were between her and Trump, 34% say they would back Trump.
Keep up the pressure Trump, I'm pulling for you big guy!
