    Funny how things work.

Got out of TGB 3 or so years ago after it was apparent that Prosperity would not be allowed because of issues with the tribes. Started buying again yesterday as TGB is presently under valued. Bad news is same management team in place which is not that good at managing the many issues that mining companies have in Canada and elsewhere......

    Dividends vs. Distributions

Timing in ones investment is critical........ for those that bought FB on the day it began trading and then fell to sub $17/sh - if they sold they lost a bundle. If they bought at $17/sh and are now enjoying the $80/sh range they are quite happy.
I have a fair amount of SDR that I purchased in Oct-Dec, 2014 and am quite happy with my returns if I sold today. Will I be happy in 10 years????? Most likely.......

Initial well production from the wells did not live up to expectations and the price of oil has declined from around $100/bbl to around $50/bbl at present. Plus decline rate is higher than expected. Those that bought in 2013 should not and will not be happy. Those that recently bought in the $4/unit range will be happy as the price of oil rebounds to the $80 range in 2016..........

    DRIP today

LINE moving lower is OK with me. Hope to get 200 shares per month in DRIP shortly and much easier to do if it pulls back to $10/unit than at $15/unit. Short term picture for oil is that it will go lower and yo yo up and down from the mid $40 to mid $50 range........ where will oil be in mid 2016 - that is the question..... I project the price per bbl will be between $80 and $90 which will allow LINE to pay a dividend of around $0.20/unit and have a share price in the $24 to $26 per unit range.....
At $12.50/unit, LINE is presently paying an annualized dividend of 10%......
If I am correct in my projection, I will be receiving a distribution of ~19% per year on my investment and have a capital gain of 100%....... time will tell.....
    Good luck with your investing....

Sandra, Antarctica is not where it was during the Jurassic and Cretaceous when dinosaurs roamed the earth...... plate tectonics....... yes during the Eocene the earth was much warmer than it is today..... volcanoes spewed forth a lot of fumes back in those days...... when a big eruption happens today a volcano spews forth much more CO2 in a day than man creates from fossil fuels in a year.......

    Global Warming Scam

70% of the world's fresh water is contained in the ice in the continent of Antarctica. The arctic ice sheet is only 4 to 6 meters thick as it is floating on water. Since the last major ice age (which wasn't very long ago) the ocean has risen about 150 feet.
What no one takes into account is the fact that geologically we are still in the ice age and it will get colder and it will get warmer...... the earth does have cyclical weather patterns that last for millions of years...... man contributes minimally to any increase or decrease in global tempertures...... go to the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY (close to Cornell U) and look at the temperature of the earth throughout the last 4.6 billion years. You will note it is going to get a lot warmer on earth over the next several million years.......

Feb 10 was X-dividend day for SDR

    Limitless.......
SDR does not pay a royalty to its unit holders. It pays a distribution of the royalties it receives.
SD pays a royalty to SDR. If the distribution were a royalty you would be able to get a 15% depletion allowance on your gross royalty revenue and also take the ad valorem & severance tax payments as deductions on your federal income tax.......

Thinking we get a pullback here

I will be surprised if LINE does not pull back to at least the $9.50 to $9.75 range in February as the price of oil moves lower. The annual report, 4Q 2014 results and any forward guidance will also determine where its share price moves in the coming weeks. Holding shares and will add more in my target price range as LINE will probably outperform in 2016 and reward those that bought units near its low trading price and reinvested the distributions in its DRIP program.....

Wishful thinking........ 50:50 chance oil will test new lows as storage increasing as is both domestic and world wide production. Most likely will see crude rise in price as production begins to taper off late in the 3Q 2015 barring actual production cuts by OPEC which is not likely.
LINE will be a better buy later this month in my opinion......

Feb 10 was X-dividend day for SDR

    by rkymtgeo Feb 10, 2015 9:27 PM

If you owned SDR at the close on the 10th (yesterday) you will get the quarterly distribution If you bought SDR today you get a discount but not the distribution. My understanding of the X-div day is that it is the day you have to own the stock to receive the distribution but could be today as you state.......... in the big picture does not matter.....

  • for a distribution of $0.375/unit. Closing price was $5.15/unit, down $0.15/unit for the day. I would expect SDR to close at ($5.15 - $0.38) $4.77/unit tomorrow and then pull back another $0.25 to $0.50 over then next month. Could be another good buying opportunity in the $4.35/unit or lower range........ what do others think will be the unit price trend for SDR???? TIA

  • To owners of LINE as of Feb 10th (today) at $0.104156/unit. Personally hoping that the price of oil falls between today and the 17th so that LINE is trading at around $10/unit so that I can get more shares from its DRIP program. Think the last DRIP was at $9.60/unit which was very nice. Would rather accumulate 2,000 shares of LINE through drip in 2015 than 1,000 shares.......
Hoping that LINE makes several purchases in the $1B range in 2015 that are accretive to earnings in 2016....
    Good luck with your investing!!

    BREAKDOWN WATCH

    by historyesign Feb 6, 2015 12:13 PM

Slickster, REXX is following the price of oil & natural gas. If oil pulls back below $45/bbl WTI REXX will likely pull back to the $3/sh range. Conversely if oil moves up to $60/bbl in March, REXX will be back in the $7/sh range.
It is anyones guess where the price of oil will be in a month or two. But by the end of 2015 it is highly probable (not a certainty) that the price of oil will be in the $60 to $75 per bbl range and those that bought REXX below $4/sh will be very happy campers.......

Oil in the low $40's again is quite likely by the end of the 1Q 2015. But oil in the $75 to $80 bbl range by the end of 2015 is also quite likely.
One has just seen what a $10 move in the price of WTI oil has done for the share price of small oil companies. IF Line pulls back to $9.50/unit or REXX to $2.50/sh (etc) will anyone besides me be a buyer?????

    Latest on Greece..

    by talktoomuch007 Feb 8, 2015 7:54 AM

Greece could make a deal with Russia as Russia could get a naval port out of the deal in a country in NATO. Which would be enough of a reason for the USA to give Greece $100 billion Greece is not going to repay any of its debt so no prudent country would throw more cash at them. Pretty much leaves the USA and Russia in the mix.
Greece defaulting on its debt could send other countries such as Italy and Portugal into the same default scenario so that a major depression could strike Europe that could last for quite awhile....

    Upcoming Quarterly Distribution

    by rkymtgeo Feb 2, 2015 2:49 PM
rkymtgeo rkymtgeo Feb 2, 2015 10:56 PM Flag

OK, I read the Aug 6th news release and it confirmed my guess of 40 cents for the 4Q 2014 but gives no projections after that.

  • NRF has announced the distribution for Series A-E but not for the common units. Will the quarterly distribution be 35, 40, 45 or 50 cents per unit?
    My guess is it will be $0.40/unit for the 4Q 2014, $0.43/unit for 1Q 2015, $0.46 for 2Q 2015 & $0.47 for 3Q 2015 ($1.76 for 4Q period). What are the thoughts on this??? TIA
