Alot of messages on this topic but ran across this on a small investment site that I thought was a good summary on this. One thing to add is the CFO is an important position so it may take sometime for wallstreet to come around but I see this as an opportunity that you don't get very often. I added and will continue to add if it stays down. Good luck to all. Here's the summary
Cybersecurity company FEYE announced yesterday and beat on the top and the bottom and raised guidance. However, the stock is getting punished because of the questions around the CFO leaving. It was explained that this CFO is more of a start up to IPO type guy and wanted to pursue another opportunity he's better suited for. Looking at his history he is a job hopper, he has had 7 CFO or VP positions in the last 15 years and has never stayed longer than 4 years (length of FEYE tenure).
Sentiment: Strong Buy
If you look at the brief comments from the CEO on the call he inferred after thanking the cfo for his contribution that the cfo speciality was bringing companies to ifo and that FEYE expansion requires the next stage of growing the business. I believe that came out during the questions and answers. Now with thie downgrade by GAbeillia we will see how much strength FEYE has. I was hoping they would be back in the green shortly but it may take longer.
Either you didn't listen to the call and hear from the CFO himself or your a liar. Either way your wrong.
Can't believe the ignorance of the articles coming out. You can tell the shorts have some buddies in the press business. I hope everyone remembers the author of these erroneous articles . They will have egg on their faces. Feye to the moon alice.
I agree. after listened to the call kickoff my opinion is all the promotions announced probably with healthy salaries the cfo probably felt left out. This stock is going higher.
All speculation why he's leaving. One thing why executives leave in the high tech. business is being in the early private days getting all those cheap shares and cashiing in during the ipo. So I don't agree with you. I do agree usually in mature businesses a cfo is a big deal. But all guesses on how wall street will react. Good luck to all.
Feye performed well. The only issue is the CFO leaving. Depending on Dewalt handles it if he has his A game on the earnings call and mad money these low prices are a gift. If he flounders then it may stay low for awhile. Wall street always overreacts. My view is it will be higher. I bought FEYE because of the CEO and not the CFO. In the high tech. business executives always move on so this should be a non issue.
You forgot the middle east crisis. I thought I seen everything from this Administration until this morning when they announced we would have a short term gap of coverage for having an air craft carrier in the middle east. When did it become public knowledge where are ships are. This adm. has to go.
I just hope large moves continue in either directions so everyone can make money. If it starts to level off with little movement then the movement will be downward . Good luck to all.
i like it when analysts go out on a limb and announce their position before earnings instead of the typically change their position after the fact and is useless. We will see how accurate zacks and opp. are but I'm in their camp in terms of FEYE being a buy..
JUSt reviewed the article on Intc and MU technology breakthru. Interesting. Will create a chain reaction of new technology in all businesses including disc drives. You can use this type of data storage for lack of a better term stacked data and grouped into the conventional drive business also. Actually that type of technology has also been on the drawing boards at the drive industry for a long time. I agree with your reference to Steve's quote that this invention will be organic growth for all businesses.
I just hope the takeover rumors startup again. This quiet period time is killing the stock price. We're back to where we were when they announced last qtr. Sure hope FEYE has their act together for the earnings call.
It would seem to me that if you were to sit out until earnings were announced would be this qtr. There is nothing good going into this last qtr. Buy when the dust settles after earnings being reported assuming no further negatives will be announced. My opinion and guess.
CNBC had sometime on Goldman Sachs on their support of GMCR and discusses the cold beverage potential. The only thing I thought was unusual was in the TV spot today they covered for a couple of minutes. But in that discussion not one person brought up Sodastream.
Trying to stay out of the fray of the press that loves to have excitable headlines. China if you look at it closer is still very positive for the year to date. Our market the dollar today is lower which is goodness, dollar is too strong. Oil is cheap, will help the consumer if it would only translate to a lower gas price. If we could turn around housing the market would be booming again. In general if a market correction was to take place it usually happens in the fall not July/Aug. Your reference to the high vix note that the high peaks happen approx. every 3 years. We just had one of those peaks in 2014. Again I don’t use history on uvxy but in general I use many factors and statistics for my decisions. But it still a guess. Good luck.
