Also you can read the latest developments for SCEI-another Chinese company that went dark - that look positive. Interesting press release today.

Your shares may make the difference in having the required number to take action.

On the Mar 20 post on this message board "to all longs" there were 3 posters that had over 700.000 shares of CELM. With the addition of some other shareholders this would be the start of a shareholders group to contact CELM. CELMOWNERS could possibly get some results. Nothing is going to happen unless we try and make it happen.

What happens to the share price after the split is the concern. Zachs has an article-they are negative CNBC has an article they are positive. If management had created value and the fundamentals are good the share price should be higher. If NCT was larger and there is value people like Icahn would be pressuring management. Management is using the split to try and raise the share price because they couldn't until now. I am long and will stay long for now. Most other reits have raised their share price since the Great Recession. Dar had a good post on the NRF board yesterday on reverse splits.

    OT: NCT

I am disappointed in both NRZ - the spin off from NCT - and NCT. I expected some increase in their share price. The reverse splits - both are having reverse splits - are to get the share price higher to get institutions and mutual funds to invest in both companies... Zach's has an article that is negative on reverse splits and CNBC looked at some reverse splits and they were positive on them... I have owned several companies that had them to keep the share price above $1 or to get the price higher - above $10 usually. The final outcome was not very effective in these situations...The fundamentals and management communications will increase the share price ... NCT also spun NEWM off in the last year... Also the NRZ spinoff was taxable at around $2.35 a share that drove some investors away - not sure how the next spinoff would be taxed. 25k shares of the NCT spinoff of NRZ was an additional 59k that was taxable. Also would appreciate thoughts on NCT and NRZ.

Many seem to think that the reverse split will increase the share price. If that is the case this is a great buying opportunity as current price will be discounted. I am not for the split but I am for anything that will increase these share price.

Not what I had hoped for

I would think Small cap value funds and dividend funds would be buying these at these prices as well any value investor. The fund should be overweighting NRZ and NCT.

  • today. Looked for good increase in share price on both NRZ and NCT today. Both undervalued but something is holding them back. I think most of us that has had both since the spin off expected better results by now.. Better days ahead - I hope.

Bacon, Sorry we disagree - it is managements job to increase share price or why would anyone buy the stock. In this case if NRZ's management didn't think it was their job to do something about the share price -why the reverse split?

Bacon, Share price is the problem. On the first day of trading last year NRZ closed at $6.76. It has not been a good investment since it starts trading on May 2 of last year. I still am optimistic about NRZ's future. The question to me is why hasn't NRZ done better? Any time management does a reverse split it is admitting they couldn't get the price up. Maybe NCT did the NRZ spinoff to early?... Also if you take into consideration the taxes created from the NRZ spin off - NRZ has done very poorly...I am still a long NRZ and hoping for a better next year!

    Sentiment: Buy

I am not for reverse stock splits unless in some cases to prevent delisting - stock falling below $1. In NRZ case the reverse split is not raising the price that far above single digits....With the good numbers they put out last quarter NRZ should be higher than it is. Hope the reverse split helps but not optimistic..

I don't like to see reverse stock splits - for me they have usually not been good. When a company does this because they can't raise the stock price usually this says something about the company. As far as mutual funds not buying stocks under $5 - I don't know if that is as widespread as it was before the great recession. If they didn't buy some sub $5 stocks a few years ago they sure missed a buying opportunity. I am long NCT and NRZ - over 30k both and expected some price appreciation this year - and yes the dividend has helped.

    Sentiment: Buy

They already have stolen the company. The question is how do we get it back?
