Sittin' in the morning sun
I'll be sittin' when the evening comes
Watching the dollars roll in
Then I watch them roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the STEI
Watchin; the tide roll away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the STEI
whistling in the distance
my regards to Otis
A national minimum wage increase to $10/hr or so ----- sure in the short run would hurt MCD's bottom line but long run ?? PROFITS WOULD SOAR. Think about it---- what is the reality of increased money in the hands of MCD's best customers. Henry Ford was right and a minimum wage increase would be great for MCD.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
agree--- i read some posters here suggesting that suckers drove up the price but i think that morning buying was done by people and investment groups that know the oil and gas industry. It appears that DVN made a good acquisition at a fair price at worst and a great price at best. So this will take some time to play out but things look good for DVN going forward.
kalamazoo--- i agree. I assume that you can substitute DVN for chesapeake in the research report. If you check the charts of CHK - EOG and DVN you can see that they are following the same pattern this week. Maybe some of this is rooted in Cramer's HOLD/SELL recommendation of CHK on Wednesday?? But he does like EOG --- called a favorite by Cramer. I don't pay much attention to what Cramer says but he does know a lot about a lot of companies. He makes you think but I would never buy or sell based upon what he has to say.
But they lowered their price target to 74 from 82. I can live with that. Actually would like to see it go lower the next few days to buy in at a better price. Not looking to make a killing-- just want to put food on the table.
Does make sense in certain ways but in the long term this stock still looks to be a great long term investment. I think that the analysts that project mid 70's to mid 80's in the coming year are still on target. You won't double your money here but for the patient long term investor, who is looking for a decent return, won't go wrong here. Roiled waters for probably a few weeks but many should look at this as a buying opportunity. Tomorrow should be an interesting day.
ok no paste job----- so here it is in my typing---- stockholders of record will receive a letter of transmittal and instructions on how to surrender their shares of company common stock to the paying agent in exchange for payment of the merger consideration. Stockholders of record should wait to receive the letter of transmittal before surrendering their shares.
see the company website or google business. Yahoo no longer has the TGX page in its system. we have to wait to receive a "letter of transmittal" or something like that explaining how to convert the shares for the $2.20. Should be this week or early next week---- just speculating though.
No boiler room-----just been buying and selling stocks for over 35 years----- i have seen this a few times in the past--- probably actually pretty easy to do. Just look at the volume numbers. anyway I had 5k that i bought @ $2.30 a year ago and sold 3k -- some @ $4 and some @ $2.75 this week. So still holding 2k but decided to unload when there was that funny smell in the air. Just a variation of the pump and dump--- just the pump is not spoken---- just manufactured volume.
Probably not chinese---- but regardless probably just a boiler room scam. Could be in the states --- could be in Russian ?? who knows. Old formula---- (1)-- buy a stake in a low volume company (2)-- gin up the volume by buying and selling large lots of stock over a few days (3)-- when the volume sniffers get in-- and play the same game--volume sky rockets (4)-- boiler room boys sell into the climbing share price (5)-- bag holders get in at the end and boiler room boys sell out the rest of their stake and walk away (6)-- volume drops with share price and bag holders wonder what happened. END OF STORY-------------
this train on a down grade and the brakes just failed. just hope no sharp curves on the way down or you will land at the bottom of a canyon.
update from earlier post------ from JUN 13 ---10Q (regarding formula for closing past DEC 30, 2013 which will be $0.002178 per share/per day) (which is an effective rate of 6% return per year).
brean capital put the brakes on today----- guess they have some people that want to get in at a lower price. If you look at today's numbers and the potential for this company ---- it will be $20 a share within 6 months.
yes-- you are correct--- there is a formula for every day past Dec 31 that this deal takes to close. Also if it goes into January too far-- another dividend should be there as the company is committed to keeping the dividend until the deal closes.
