You are wrong on so many points!! and I will save the selling price issue for my last statement.
Walgreens former president of pharmacy services, CEO and CFO all stated during a Recorded conference call that they had not seen drug inflation as being a factor in pricing all their PBM contracts.. They also stated that going forward they would include this inflation clause in provider new contracts with payers.
    2) Owning 23% of common stock in ABC guarantees nothing
should ABC decide to suspend its dividend, or encounter a financial problem.
Also Walgreens is paying ABC inflated Rx prices as they no longer own Drug Warehousing... and have reduced Rx inventory with ABC daily delivery.. and stated by Walgreens CEO in a CC.
As for Walgreens CEO being gone, its not a coincidence that most of the major Executive positions at Walgreens have gone to the Folks at Alliance Boots, Even Corporate Strategy the Major function of a CEO is under Alliance Boots control in the new holding Company structure..

My view on Walgreens selling priced has changed in the Short term, as very powerful financial interests who can control the market are banking on the Alliance Boots deal going through to completion.
Walgreens current stocks selling price has a lot to do with book running Bond sales that have reach 8 billion dollars and the underwriters financing , then there are the short term notes and short term paper Wag will issue..
Lastly the Private Hedge funds are carrying ownership positions using borrowed money/margins.. So these investors are not carrying a position for more that a year, 2 or 3 worst case add onto that 144 million new shares will be issued on Walgreens deal closing... diluting ownership value for todays buyers after closing..
And good luck with the Euro exchange rates projected downward for the years ahead, and don't forget Walgreens new Holding Company structure can issue preferred shares, most likely going to management. HaHa..

    Well good luck anyway

I don't know for a fact 5 or 10 people visit this board, if this is true, I would be interested in were you found the Visitors totals stats.
And good for you that you are up in this investment, as I also am up on several investments and down on a few others but I keep the P/E multiplies in focus along with NAV along with other Variables.
I believe any financial message board levels the Trading landscape for small investors vs the Big boys, as financial news/videos are pushed by Larger trading investors who own large positions and sell them off when they bring in the Fishes (Mutual funds, Retirement funds, retail investors, etc).
Just Watch mad money's video from last night if you doubt what I'm saying..
The one thing I have found is that the Professional traders, hedge Funds, Desk Traders only Edge is Access to money to move a market and how they profit from the majority of Main streets investors lack of information in forward modeling revenue growth projections made by covering analysts who are employed by large Trading Firms.
You should learn the lessons of Failed large cap Corporations ex SEARS, in understanding how this happens.. and this all begins with Revenue growth projections with M&A's, and Executive managers who will do anything to keep there high paychecks, to the point of Gutting their stockholders assets as the Companies selling price moves higher.\ and then goes lower.

The Facts are there should you choose to look at them, long term investment today means 3 to 6 months for Pro's.. No longer are the good old days where you bought and held a stock..

Seeing as Hertz is involved in a SEC investigation regarding its accounting and need for financial restatemenst, Jana Partner request for a Board and Executive level shakeup may cause a even deeper dive by the SEC into Hertz book keeping problems.
Jana Partners push for change at Hertz corporate HQ could possible open up a flood of Shareholder lawsuit's
and a rebalancing of credit risks.. causing a even sharper decline in its stock price.

  • The CNBC host of Mad money was a former hedge fund partner and currently is a Investor in Walgreens Co. through a charitable trust.
With his knowledge of how hedge funds operate in the investment landscape is it a just a coincidence that Walgreens is pitched more than others in the Drug store business?
With red flags arising and a CFO who is suing this company, This Cnbc host is calling on unseen net revenue increases., and he does know how to do forward revenue modeling, yet he faisl to follow his own rule.. Bulls & Bears make money pigs get slaughter.

Maybe Jim needs to show us Retail Investors his revenue projection model for Walgreens before this end up on his Wall of Shame and after he sold out..

  • Or is that a SEC investigation, either way Hertz Board of Director are giving testimony or perhaps deposition involving possibly Accounting Fraud.
And then you have the Failure to release to the investing public the SEC notification..
Now the SEC does not investigate criminal actions they hand this over to the Justice department along with all statements made during the SEC investigation or depositions.
As this information is Valuable to Hedge funds and professional traders the options market is the place to be as dividends will not be paid

You surely will not discuss Walgreens battle with Rx price inflation, some thing that CVS or Boots has not had to worry about since the do own Rx warehouses.
And seeing as Walgreens announced 1 Billion in Spending cuts, I am waiting for them to outsource much of their legal departments work..
I have no doubt that Walgreen price will rise to pre sell off levels so many of the long/short investors will have the chance to get out., but longer term Walgreens is facing a FCF problem and Mr. Pessina is the Largest owner in Walgreens stock.
So Expect the current CEO to be facing the Bone yard sometime after the merger.... as net revenues projection will come under pressure.

Picking growth percentage increases out of a need to make Investment Bankers happy never works out..

Walgreens doesn't worry about parking lots anymore they are engaged in selling off all of the RE assets, and are the shareholders getting this money ...NO!!!
Walgreens outsourcing has reached downside levels as they outsourced their core revenue structure that being Rx warehousing. and who does this in the Rx Drug Store sector beside Rite Aid?

Does CVS or Boots own their own warehouses?? So Walgreens after the Alliance boots merger is going to sell or outsource all Alliance boots Rx warehouses, because this is a best solution to fight Rx price inflation???.. LOL.. LOL
You are playing in a Hedge fund controlled investment, So don't be surprised when this investment deflates as Walgreens assets have been stripped away from the stock holders and given out to Executives and Investment bankers and then handed over to professional traders..

I'm just a investor that play options also.
Right now I'm looking at Warren Buffett's long position in Express Scripts, and also see Walgreens with its hedge fund investors as being overvalued, CVS is also in the retail drug sector however it has developed a different business model (PBM) and it also is trading at a all time high..

If you want to follow a good buy and sell trade now look up HTZ..
made $1,000 on that one in a few days..
