Interesting that you mention Time Warner going up in short term. Time Warner, Bright House and Charter just merged to become Spectrum (at least here in the Tampabay area). I have Bright House and am anxious to see how that is going to play out over the next 6 months or so and how Frontier will be able to compete against this much larger company (now number two to Comcast).

Why the thumbs down. All of what I wrote was a direct quote verbatim from a paragraph in the article under the headline "Outages Occur as Frontier takes over" in Saturday's newspaper "The Tampa Tribune". Find Jerome R. Stockfisch, Tribune Staff, and beat up on him.
Front page news in Saturday's (today) Tampa Tribune: "Outages Occur as Frontier takes over" with subheading "it's 'an epic failure', a Tampa business owner says." Followed by a lengthy article quoting one paragraph: "Gerard Donelan, a real estate appraiser who works from home in South Tampa, was still without service Friday afternoon. "I talked to customer service about 10:30. ... He told me service was down in the Tampa Bay area, and he didn't know when it was coming back, and there was nothing he could do," Donelan said. "What a joke. These guys were telling us just yesterday how seamless this was going to be. My next phone call is to Bright House." End quote.
I live in the Tampa area - I know three Verizon subscribers that are not happy with the conversion. I have Bright House. So far, I think it is the shift to AOL that they are not happy with. Currently they are taking a wait and see attitude.
