down, down, down... it amazes me that a company like this which is the leader in its industry, no debt, lots of cash, 2014 earnings all set with plenty of time to add new contracts for 2015 is hitting new lows while other high flyer stocks that have no earnings are worth billions upon billions in overinflated value. i'm in this one for the long run and have been buying chunks of LQDT from the mid 20's on down...

  • Three-Year Contract Extension Expands Relationship, Enabling Development and Commercialization of More Innovative Products

SAN JOSE, Calif. and AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Intermolecular, Inc. (IMI) and Guardian Industries announced today the expansion and extension of their collaborative development program and strategic IP licensing agreement. Guardian, one of the world's largest manufacturers of coated glass for architectural, automotive, and other applications, has been working with Intermolecular since 2010 on the development of innovative coated glass products targeting a variety of end applications.

The contract extension announced today provides for an immediate increase in resources to be deployed at Intermolecular by both companies. The parties expect to be able to significantly increase the number of new products that will be developed and commercialized resulting from the collaboration through 2017.

"Guardian is committed to growth through product innovation through external partnerships. I believe that having about 25% of our innovation portfolio getting nutrition from diversified industries creates a lot of value. This requires high level crosspollination and Intermolecular is the perfect partner for this," said Martin Bracamonte, vice president, Science and Technology, Guardian Industries Corp. "We are continuously striving to introduce value-added products to our customers through the integration of our high quality glass with advanced coatings. Intermolecular's team and proprietary methods are an important part of Guardian's pursuit of technological leadership in the flat glass industry."

This thing has been in a free-fall since March of 2013. When will it end? Earnings report next week should provide some color.

  • Volume today was: 1,000,694 shares and the stock was slightly down. The last time we had volume of over 1,000,000 shares was on Dec 16, 2011 a few weeks after the IPO. Seems a bit odd.

    IMI now a takeover target?

Those are all "Automatic Sales" and very common for officers of any company on an automatic plan. The last "Manual Sale" transaction was back in Jun 2012. Granted, it would be great to see management step up at these all-time-low levels and buy some stock back.

  • With the stock now trading at less than half it's IPO price, a good amt of cash & little debt, and the entire Market Cap at only 200M, it seems ripe for a buyout. A company could add them to their R&D dept and gain a huge advantage over its competitors. Thoughts?
